Love The Women's Murder Club Series!

It is truly a remarkable collection of books that never fails to captivate me. Each time I pick up one of these novels and start rereading, I am immediately drawn into the thrilling world of the club members. The characters are so well-developed and their relationships are complex and engaging. The storylines are filled with mystery, suspense, and unexpected twists that keep me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. Whether it's solving a brutal murder or dealing with personal challenges, the Women's Murder Club always manages to come out on top. I can't get enough of this series and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good mystery or crime novel. It's a must-read for any book lover!

The second installment of the Women's Murder Club presents a captivating mystery filled with a good number of unexpected twists and turns.

Although the Club appears to be growing closer, they had relatively less to do in this story compared to the previous one.

The female characters are positive and strong, yet there are certain moments, albeit brief, when I get the impression that the writer is not a woman. Nevertheless, Patterson and Gross manage to do a fairly commendable job.

---Possible spoiler alert---

There is one significant plot hole: If Coombs was on parole and failed to report to his parole officer or provide his current address, the police had a valid reason to arrest, detain, and potentially send him back to prison. However, the legal expert claims that there is absolutely nothing linking him to the murders and no way to get to him. In the interest of halting the sniper attacks, wouldn't it have been logical to apprehend him for the parole violation and lock him up? Then they could build their case without the worry of him committing another murder.

"2nd Chance" by James Patterson is the second installment in the Women's Murder Club series.

I had read and thoroughly relished the first one, "1st to Die," which led to my high expectations for this book.

In the typical James Patterson style, the story commences with intense action and emotion. It maintains a rapid pace throughout the entire book, filled with abundant tension and twists. There is a final turn in the story that I truly hadn't anticipated. The nice short chapters have a captivating effect, making you think, "Just one more," until you realize you're nearly at the end of the book.

I'm aware that Patterson's books have perhaps strayed a bit in recent times, but these earlier works are of excellent quality. I highly recommend them. I can't wait to begin the third book in the series. I'm really captivated by the female characters and eagerly look forward to reading more about them.

Overall, "2nd Chance" is a thrilling and engaging read that lives up to the expectations set by the first book in the series.

This is yet another outstanding book. I am truly relishing this series. Rest in peace, Chief Mercer. It's really cool that Lindsay Boxer has been promoted to Lieutenant. It's great to see the Women's Murder Club together again. I'm also glad that we got to see Marty Boxer for a brief moment. The case in this book was rather strange and somewhat terrifying. My heart goes out to the poor people who lost their lives. I really hope that Cindy and Aaron Winslow will remain together for a long time.

I just can't wait to read the next installment, 3rd Degree! I'm sure it will be just as exciting and engaging as the previous books in this series. I'm already looking forward to seeing what new adventures and challenges the Women's Murder Club will face.

Lindsay, Cindy, Claire, and Jill return in the second installment of the Women's Murder Club. This time, the murderer strikes close to home.

Lindsay has overcome the loss of her love and now holds a new position as Lieutenant in charge of Homicide, having gained prestige from solving the bride and groom murder case. Her new adversary may be even more evil.

The killer's spree begins at a local church where a youth choir is practicing. As they go about their business, a hail of gunfire rains down, instilling fear. Only one 11-year-old girl is killed, and at first, it seems like random violence. However, a pattern soon emerges.

Earlier, an African American woman hanged herself at home. She was the widow of a former San Francisco police officer, as was the young girl's uncle. The presence of a chimera image at both crime scenes links the two incidents. The hunt for Chimera, the serial killer's alias, begins.

As more victims fall to the city's new monster, it becomes clear that he is connected to the dark history of the police department, specifically a local cop who killed a young man with suspected drug ties 20 years ago.

History also impacts Lindsay's personal life when her father, who has been missing since she was 13, suddenly reappears. Their reunion is difficult as Lindsay felt betrayed and abandoned. Now, he hopes to rebuild their relationship, but his past as a former police officer with a dark history doesn't make things easier, especially with Chimera's victims turning up dead everywhere.

The real mystery preventing Lindsay, her homicide team, and the club members from solving the case is the question of whether the murders are racially motivated. All the victims are African Americans, but connections are starting to form. Before they can figure it out, Claire is shot at, Cindy falls in love, Jill has pregnancy difficulties, and Lindsay comes face-to-face with Chimera himself.

This sequel to 1st to Die is a good read. While the story focuses more on Lindsay, the other ladies still have important roles. Overall, I really enjoyed this book.

I’m always eagerly looking forward to a new crime series to read. Recently, I gave the first couple of these a try.

The series centers around three remarkable women from San Francisco. There’s Lindsay Boxer, a dedicated Police Officer who is always on the front lines of solving crimes. Then there’s Cindy Thomas, a Reporter with a nose for news and a determination to uncover the truth. And finally, Claire Washburn, a highly skilled Medical Examiner whose expertise is crucial in cracking cases.

As the story unfolds and the crimes are being solved, the books also delve into each character’s personal lives, adding an extra layer of depth and complexity.

I’ve only read the first four books in the series so far, and I have to say I quite liked them. They were enjoyable enough to keep me engaged, but for some reason, I wasn’t completely hooked to the point where I felt an urgent need to grab the fifth one right away. Maybe it was because I was expecting something a little more thrilling or unexpected. Nevertheless, it was still a decent read, and I might pick up the fifth book at some point in the future to see how the story progresses.

The race conversation takes center stage in this second installment of the Women's Murder Club.

I'm truly arriving at the party quite late, yet I discovered this to be highly relevant to our era.

There is a killer lurking out there, possessing the skills of an expert marksman and an inclination towards the beliefs of the KKK.

At times, it may seem a bit dated, but I remained fully engaged, and Patterson weaves a story that is, at its core, timeless.

The audio version features a note read by Patterson himself, detailing a moment when he was on the street in a foreign country and witnessed a woman reading his book while stopped at a stoplight.

It's nearly impossible to travel without encountering someone reading a book by this prolific writing organization.

I'm committed to at least the third book in this series.

Overall, despite its flaws, the story manages to grip the reader and keep them hooked, making it a worthwhile addition to the mystery genre.

The sensational killings that have rocked San Francisco seem to be completely unrelated, except for their extreme brutality. However, detective Lindsay Boxer has a hunch that there is some hidden thread connecting them all.

She召集 her friends in the Women's Murder Club to see if they can uncover the mystery. Surely, some crucial clue has been overlooked by their bosses and male colleagues. Working together with Chronicle reporter Cindy Thomas, Assistant District Attorney Jill Bernhardt, and medical examiner Claire Washburn, Lindsay discovers that there is indeed a connection.

The victims were of different ages, lived in different locations, and were killed with different weapons. But upon closer inspection, each had a close relative in a particular profession, a profession that sends a shiver down Lindsay's spine. The partners in the Women's Murder Club realize that this killer is after something far more sinister than revenge.

They fear that the next target could be one of them. Through careful deduction, they determine where the killer is likely to strike next and set a trap that they hope the killer won't be able to resist. But if their calculation is wrong, the consequences will be deadly, and there will be no second chance.

I usually read James Patterson books as a guilty pleasure and a quick read, which I intersperse between "good" reads. I tend to have a preference for the Alex Cross books. However, I recently received the 3rd book in the Women's Murder Club series. I thought to myself that I should probably read the first two books in the series.

To my disappointment, I did just that. And now, I'm beginning to find these books tiresome and recycled. In fact, they are even sort of irritating.

I really don't consider myself a book snob. Generally speaking, I can usually find some enjoyment in any book that I manage to finish. And, to be fair, I did find a little bit of enjoyment in these books. But, I'm starting to have the feeling that reading these books is becoming a waste of my precious time.

James Patterson, you have an incredibly large number of books out there. And I really and truly don't believe that you write each and every one of them all by yourself. And even if by some miracle you do, I'm starting to get the impression that you have a sort of template. It's as if you just fill in the characters' names and details as if it were a game of Mad Libs. I'm also really intrigued and kind of have this urge to do a psychological study on you. I firmly believe that the common themes that appear in an author's books tend to reveal a great deal about who that author truly is deep down. And that fact actually worries me quite a bit.

I'm sorry to have to say this, but at least for the time being, I think I will be taking a hiatus from reading James Patterson's books.

This was truly an enjoyable read. I opted to listen to the audiobook, and I must say that I thoroughly relished the experience. The book had me engaged from start to finish. Most of the story was filled with thrilling and exciting moments that had my heart pounding. However, there were a few parts where I felt that the story was a bit predictable. Nevertheless, the short chapters added an element of anticipation, keeping me on the edge of my seat at times. The characters in the book were outstanding. I particularly adored Lindsay. I would absolutely love to have a best friend just like her. She is truly awesome, and I'm eager to witness more growth in her character as the series progresses. I also really liked the action-packed and thrilling scenes in the book. They managed to maintain my interest in the story. I'm really enjoying this series. I can't wait to discover where this series will lead me. The suspense and mystery are keeping me on tenterhooks. Book 3, here I come. Overall, it was a great read that I would highly recommend to others.

I have read this book once, and yet I still thoroughly enjoyed it.

The story is truly great, filled with engaging plotlines that keep you on the edge of your seat. The characters are extremely likeable, each with their own unique personalities and quirks that make them relatable.

And the twist... it will definitely surprise you, even though I felt that I needed a little "something" more to make it perfect.

We once again follow the Women's Murder Club as they embark on a thrilling investigation to find the person responsible for some gruesome murders on black people (as described in the book, not my own words). The question remains: are these murders race related, or is there something else more sinister behind it?

To find out the answer, you'll have to read the book for yourself :D I would highly recommend starting with the first book in the series, as it allows you to get to know the characters a whole lot more and truly immerse yourself in their world.

A great read indeed!

This series is constantly evolving and getting better with each passing book. Lindsay, after a long hiatus of 20 years, finally comes face to face with her father. But the question lingers: is he there to make amends or is there an ulterior motive related to her current case?

There's a menacing killer on the loose, specifically targeting black people, whether they are cops or family members of cops. The reason behind this heinous act is a complex web of hatred and revenge. Lindsay is racing against time to uncover the truth and put an end to the madness.

The story takes a heart-wrenching turn when Lindsay and her father begin to reconcile, only for that trust to be shattered by new developments in the case. It's truly upsetting to see that racial issues still persist and are at the forefront of society, even in this day and age. We should all strive to live and let live, as we are all creations of the same entity.

The book also highlights the disparaging way in which men often try to exclude women from important discussions, even when their insights could prove invaluable in resolving the situation. The loss of something precious brings the group of women closer together, and Cindy finds a new love interest along the way.

Finally, the plot, the suspense, and the writing are all masterfully combined to keep the reader on the edge of their seat, eagerly anticipating what comes next. It's an enjoyable read that will leave you wanting more.
