I don't care for this character as my rating reflects.

This story is not my idea of an action thriller because it seems too contrived.

The events and plot developments feel forced and lack the authenticity and excitement that I expect from a true action thriller.

There is a distinct lack of believability in the way the story unfolds, making it difficult for me to engage with the characters and the overall narrative.

The pacing is also off, with some parts dragging on while others seem rushed.

Overall, I was very disappointed with this story and would not recommend it to others who are looking for a thrilling and engaging action-packed read.

2 of 10 stars.

This third installment in the Women's Murder Club presents a captivating social justice narrative.

Regrettably, those who aim to rectify the evils of the world have turned to violence. We witness an exploding townhouse, a ricin poisoning, and a series of bombings. Lindsey and her comrades are working at breakneck speed to uncover the truth behind these heinous acts.

The inclusion of help from Homeland Security adds an interesting dimension, especially considering it was a relatively new concept just a few years after 9/11.

There are several unexpected twists and turns that befall the murder club, which are bound to have a significant impact on future installments. I am eagerly anticipating seeing how these developments play out and how the club will navigate through the challenges that lie ahead.

Overall, this installment keeps readers on the edge of their seats with its thrilling plot and engaging characters.

In this third installment of the Women's Murder Club series, "3rd Degree" commences with a literal explosion. Lt. Lindsay Boxer, a homicide detective in San Francisco, is out jogging and happens to admire a town house on the street. Suddenly, it detonates right before her eyes. After summoning help, she dashes in and discovers two lifeless bodies and, miraculously, a child whom she manages to rescue.

What unfolds in the following days quickly escalates into a sort of war. But who is at the center of this turmoil? And who will be the next victim on the target list?

Soon, Lindsay and her friends - Claire, Cindy, and Jill - find themselves in the thick of the action. Someone is sending messages to Cindy at the Chronicle, and the name "August Files" appears to hold significance.

Joe Molinari, the charming FBI Deputy Director, is also involved, and the chemistry between him and Lindsay is palpable.

As the team attempts to untangle the mystery and figure out what a group of revolutionaries from the 70s has to do with the current events, we get a peek into the budding romance between Lindsay and Joe. However, sadness looms nearby, and one of their own becomes a target.

The story sweeps across the West, from San Francisco, Oakland, and Berkeley to Portland, Oregon, and from the 1960s to the present. It takes the reader along, offering a glimpse of the country then and now, and reminding us that terror can originate from within our own borders.

Although somewhat predictable, this novel is definitely a page-turner that showcases the warm and affectionate bonds between the women. 3.5 stars.

Another excellent installment of the Women's Murder Club series by James Patterson and Andrew Gross has been released.

This book is just as engaging as the first time I listened to it on the Audible audio book. The story is filled with twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat.

The narrator, Carolyn McCormick, does a great job of bringing the characters to life. Her voice adds an extra layer of depth to the story.

However, the ending of the book is very sad. It left me with a heavy heart and a sense of loss. Despite the sad ending, I still highly recommend this book to fans of the Women's Murder Club series and anyone who enjoys a good mystery.

Fun, fast reading.

It was an enjoyable experience to breeze through the pages. However, I couldn't fully connect with the people in the story.

There seemed to be something missing that prevented me from truly understanding and empathizing with their characters and their motives.

Perhaps I have to read the first and second book of this series.

It could be that the background and development of the characters are more thoroughly explored in those previous installments.

By reading the earlier books, I might gain a better understanding of the relationships and events that led to the situations presented in the current book.

This would potentially allow me to form a deeper connection with the people in the story and enhance my overall reading experience.

So, despite the fun and fast-paced nature of the current read, I recognize the importance of going back and reading the first and second books to fully appreciate the series.

3rd Degree by James Patterson with Andrew Gross is the third installment in the captivating Women's Murder Club series.

Detective Lindsay Boxer, while out jogging, witnesses a terrifying explosion. A terrorist group known as August Spies claims responsibility for this heinous act. Soon after, a series of other murders begin to occur, sending shockwaves through the city.

This book is truly a terrific read, filled with suspense and excitement at every turn. However, it is marred by the loss of one of the club members, which is a heartbreaking moment.

On a more positive note, I love that Lindsay has found someone with whom to start a relationship. It adds an interesting layer to her character and gives readers something to root for.

Overall, 3rd Degree is a fabulous fast-paced thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end.

REVIEW OF AUDIOBOOK; NOVEMBER 14, 2018

Narrator: Carolyn McCormick

4.5 stars

I'm truly enjoying this series to a much greater extent than I initially anticipated. In fact, it has surpassed my expectations compared to Patterson's own Alex Cross series. This particular installment was quite good. One of the亮点 was the introduction of a new romance for Lindsay after she lost her first boyfriend earlier. The romance between her and Joe Molinari was well-placed and did not overshadow the murder-suspense aspect of the story. The story kicked off with a literal BOOM! and maintained its thrilling pace right until the end.

However, I was not pleased with what the author did to Jill. I see absolutely no necessity to of the WMC's members. This decision led me to deduct half a star from my rating.

**"Plenty of Action, No Thinking Needed"**

In today's fast-paced world, there seems to be a trend of seeking **plenty of action** without the need for much **thinking**. People are constantly on the go, engaging in various activities, but sometimes forgetting to pause and reflect.

This can lead to a life that is full of excitement and busyness, but perhaps lacking in depth and meaning.

We often find ourselves in situations where we are expected to act quickly and without hesitation, relying on our instincts and prior experiences.

While this can be useful in some cases, it also means that we may not be fully considering the consequences of our actions or exploring other possible options.

However, it's important to note that there is a time and place for both action and thinking.

We need to be able to act when necessary, but we also need to take the time to think things through and make informed decisions.

Striving for a balance between the two can help us lead more fulfilling and successful lives.

So, the next time you find yourself in a situation where there is **plenty of action** and **no thinking needed**, take a moment to stop and ask yourself if that's really the best approach.

Maybe a little bit of thinking could make all the difference.
