It took me three long years, but at last, I finally completed this book!

Unless you are an extremely dedicated fan, the majority of the content in this book might seem a bit more detailed than you desired. Spoto clearly put in a great deal of effort in his research. I have never been a huge enthusiast of Marilyn Monroe. However, as I delved deeper and learned more about her as an individual (rather than the publicized image of her), my admiration for her grew. Just like many others, she was a complex and tormented soul. Right before her untimely death, she appeared to be finding herself and coming into her own. In the end, it is a tragic story, but there are numerous valuable life lessons to be gleaned from it along the way.

It makes one reflect on the complexity of human nature and the often-hidden struggles that lie beneath the surface of a public figure.

I simply can't believe that I managed to go through this thick book in such a short time. It has been truly amazing to read about the legendary Marilyn Monroe. I have decided to read the most crucial bios once more to determine if my perspective has altered.

Despite having certain imperfections, this remains a book worthy of recommendation.

Subsequently, I will peruse Summers to obtain an opposing viewpoint... ;) Then Wolfe/Leaming (from the same year)...

The others I recall fairly well... but we shall see.

Some memoirs necessitate a reread....

By the way... if I were able to award it 3.5 stars, that is precisely what I would do.

However, I simply cannot concur with some significant issues, so in my opinion, it does not deserve more than that.

As a biography, only Michelle Morgan has accomplished a task meriting 4.5 - 5 stars ;)

PS: I do not subscribe to conspiracy theories, Slatzer, Carmen, and the like... so those are not the flaws I am referring to.

Nor do I believe she ever genuinely desired to be the first lady. We must attribute far more intelligence to her than that! One liaison and that was it... In my humble opinion.

Or maybe it's because we are so intrigued by the idea of a Hollywood icon who met such a untimely end.

Whatever the reason, Marilyn Monroe's story continues to captivate us.

And it serves as a reminder of the fleeting nature of life and the importance of珍惜 every moment.

The text was a bit heavy and difficult to read, and at times it felt like there was just an endless list of names.

Otherwise, in my opinion, it was a good biography.

It was nice that not only Marilyn's controversial and questionable deeds were also told instead of continuous glorification. It respects Marilyn's memory by correcting all kinds of gossipy conspiracy theories.
