Despite the abundance of information presented, there was still something lacking. There was a missed opportunity to gain a more profound insight into the true personality of Marilyn. I am not going to pen a traditional "review". Instead, I simply wish to convey that I have perused biographies of MM in the past, yet none have been as comprehensive as this one. It delves deeply into her early childhood, providing a detailed account that is both fascinating and enlightening. Additionally, Spoto holds nothing back when discussing the "professionals" she interacted with throughout her life. By the end, there can be little ambiguity regarding what transpired in MM's life and the reasons behind it. This work is extremely well-researched, with every detail meticulously examined and presented. The writing is also of a high caliber, making it a pleasure to read. Overall, it offers a poignant look at the short and tragic life of an American icon.
