1/17/15 - I had completely forgotten that I had already read this book! So, recently I've been engrossed in listening to the audio version of this remarkable book, Enchantment: The Life of Audrey Hepburn by Donald Spoto. As I listened, I was truly astonished to discover just how many difficulties and challenges she faced throughout her life and her illustrious career as an actress. It was almost heart-wrenching to hear about these hardships because she had always projected such an image of being enchanting and sweet. It was as if she was somehow immune to harm. However, it turns out that she had her fair share of problems, just like everyone else. It makes me view her in a whole new light and appreciate her even more for the strength and grace with which she overcame these obstacles.

My mental images of Audrey Hepburn are vivid and enchanting. I envision her in the iconic roles of My Fair Lady and Breakfast at Tiffany's, a perfectly groomed and exquisitely dressed classy lady, which indeed she was.
