The text describes a complex and tragic story. There are many people who seek wealth, power, and are willing to start a fire of chaos and feed it until it becomes a huge blaze, causing love and loyalty to be forgotten. There are also those who are deprived of self-confidence and drink the poisoned cup, choking their happiness with their own hands.

The drama before us now is about courage, dedication, love, sacrifice, then hatred, and finally madness and murder.

That beautiful girl whom many desired, dreamed of, and she chose the swarthy-skinned man from the deserts of Morocco, her beloved. They married secretly against her father's will. Then the plotters wove a web of conspiracy around her beloved to convince him of her betrayal. But she was not a betrayer. However, the warlike leader was lacking in understanding and vision, so he chose the easiest solution, the solution of the weak. He allowed himself to kill her beloved instead of confronting and revealing the secrets of the conspiracy. But the divine punishment came quickly as Emily, the wife of the betrayer, revealed the plot, and the false killer decided to kill himself.

It is a wonderful drama by a great writer and an excellent translation by Khalil Matran. It simplifies the original literary text, making it seem as if its original language is Arabic.
