I rated every book that I read during childhood 5 stars.

Why did I do that? Well, it was because that was a special time in my life. During childhood, I had a pure and innocent love for every single thing I read. Each book was like a magical adventure that took me to different worlds and introduced me to various characters and stories.

Moreover, those books bring back such fond memories. They remind me of the cozy afternoons spent curled up with a good book, the excitement of turning the pages to see what would happen next, and the joy of sharing those stories with my friends and family.

Ah, the joys of being young! When everything seemed possible and every book was a precious treasure. Those 5-star ratings are not just a measure of the books themselves, but also a reflection of the wonderful childhood that I had.

A great series indeed!

The boys and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading about Sam. His adventures and experiences have been truly captivating.

Each story has been filled with excitement, mystery, and valuable life lessons. We have laughed along with Sam and his friends, and felt their joys and sorrows.

It's such a pity that this is the last one. We will surely miss following Sam's journey.

However, we are grateful for the wonderful memories and the hours of entertainment this series has provided.

We will cherish these books and recommend them to others who are looking for a great read.

Thank you to the author for creating such a wonderful series!

Who could have known that embarking on a trip to Alaska with the intention of laying in a pile with a bunch of walruses would demand such extensive planning? It seems rather unusual at first glance, but as one delves deeper into the concept, it becomes a truly fascinating and unique adventure. The idea of being up close and personal with these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat is both exciting and a little nerve-wracking. There are so many factors to consider, from the best time of year to visit to the necessary gear and accommodations. But despite the challenges, the anticipation of this once-in-a-lifetime experience is palpable. It's sure to be a cute and funny read as we follow the journey of someone brave enough to take on this extraordinary endeavor.

Sam has a strong desire to possess things.

He often finds himself longing for items simply because he sees other people having them.

This constant comparison with others makes him believe that by acquiring the same things, he will be just as cool as they are.

Sam fails to realize that true coolness comes from within and cannot be measured by material possessions.

He is so caught up in the idea of keeping up with the Joneses that he overlooks his own unique qualities and interests.

Instead of focusing on what makes him special, he chases after the latest trends and fads, hoping to fit in and be accepted.

However, this pursuit of external validation often leaves him feeling empty and unfulfilled.

Sam needs to learn that it is okay to be different and that true happiness and self-worth cannot be bought.

The boy in this story is Sam, who is just four years old. He starts to dislike his mother because she doesn't allow him to wear fangs in the house. Sam makes a rather bold decision - he decides to run away to Alaska so that he can wear his fangs whenever and wherever he wants.

Before setting off on his adventure, Sam visits all of his neighbors. The reason for this is that he has no idea how to get to Alaska. It's quite a humorous and typical thing for a four-year-old to do. Get angry with his mom, come up with the idea of running away, and then likely end up back home.

From this simple yet entertaining story, children can learn an important lesson. They can understand that the idea of running away isn't as exciting and glamorous as it might seem at first. It's just a passing thought that usually leads them back to the safety and comfort of their own homes.

I am truly interested in knowing what the 5 - 7 year old readers have to say regarding this book. It would be fascinating to discover whether they will appreciate Sam's adventure. Will they be enthralled by the exciting events that unfold?

Also, I wonder how they perceive the adults' "help". Do they view it as beneficial or perhaps as something that gets in the way of Sam's independence?

These young readers have a unique perspective, and their thoughts and feelings about the story could provide valuable insights.

I look forward to hearing their opinions and seeing how they engage with the book.

Their responses might even inspire new ideas for future stories or help to improve the current one.

It's always exciting to explore the minds of these young readers and see how they interpret and connect with the written word.

Overall, I believe that their feedback will be both enlightening and entertaining.

This is a really fun little read that I believe a great number of my students would thoroughly enjoy.

It has an engaging and interesting storyline that can capture the attention of readers easily.

The language used is simple yet vivid, making it accessible to a wide range of ages.

As an educator, I am always on the lookout for materials that can spark the interest and imagination of my students.

This particular piece seems to fit the bill perfectly.

I can envision my students getting lost in the story, experiencing a range of emotions as they follow the characters' adventures.

It would not only provide them with entertainment but also enhance their reading skills and vocabulary.

I am excited to share this with my students and see how they respond to it.

I'm sure it will become a favorite among them.

In this highly relatable book, we are introduced to a young boy named Sam. Sam has an intense love for fangs. However, his mother holds a completely different view. She dislikes fangs and firmly believes that they make Sam look rather disgusting.

As a result, Sam makes a bold decision. He decides to run away to Alaska, a place where "fanged" walruses lie around freely, and he hopes to be accepted there. Sam then packs some essential things into his Harvard gym bag and sets off, walking down the street.

As he walks along, he bids goodbye to various people and receives some items. Consequently, his gym bag starts to become heavier and heavier. This makes him rethink his hasty decision of running away.

I firmly believe that this is a great book for kids. I know that when we are young, we often express the desire to run away. Even though in the end, we realize that we don't actually want to go through with it. Additionally, it is an easy chapter book, perfect for younger kids to begin their reading journey.

Sam is extremely excited as he returns home from nursery school.

You know, he swapped his etch-a-sketch for a really cool pair of fangs. However, his mother detests fangs and even has fangphobia. So, Sam is prohibited from wearing fangs inside the house. "Fine," says Sam, "I'll just run away."

Consequently, he packs his essential items and heads towards the door, and his mother doesn't even attempt to stop him! He determines that his destination will be Alaska. But before he departs, he decides to pay a final visit to Gertrude Stein for some cookies.

Nevertheless, he doesn't manage to hit the road as promptly as he had intended. There are various stops to make, and somehow his bag becomes increasingly weighed down.

Moreover, the more he ponders about it, the more Alaska doesn't truly seem like the most brilliant idea.

Sam's adventures are nearly as hilarious as Anastasia's. This one had me chuckling out loud just like many of the Anastasia books. Lowry surely has a distinctive talent for capturing the voice of children, and this book is no different. It's truly funny stuff.

This one dragged a bit.

However, I did appreciate Mrs. Krupnick's apology scene at the end.

Isaac, on the other hand, thought the adults' behavior toward Sam was rather mean and patronizing.

It seemed as if the adults were not taking Sam seriously and were treating him in a demeaning way.

This made Isaac feel uncomfortable and frustrated.

He believed that Sam deserved to be treated with respect and dignity, just like any other person.

Despite Mrs. Krupnick's apology, Isaac still couldn't help but wonder if the adults would ever truly change their behavior towards Sam.

He hoped that they would realize their mistakes and start treating Sam better in the future.

What I wouldn't give to live in this neighborhood!

Here, everyone is a true friend to one another, regardless of age or physical condition. From the innocent baby to the frail old woman, they all share a special bond. Everybody loves Sam and shows infinite patience towards him. It's truly a heartwarming sight.

The story might be a 3.7 read on some scale, but I'm rounding it down. Why? Because at the moment, I'm feeling pettishly envious. I can't truthfully say that I really 'enjoyed' the book all that much. Maybe it's because I long for such a perfect neighborhood in my own life. Or perhaps it's because the simplicity and kindness depicted in the story make me realize how far removed I am from such a reality. Whatever the reason, this book has definitely left me with a bittersweet feeling.
