Rereading one of my favourite children's books is always a wonderful experience. It takes me back to a time when imagination knew no bounds and every story was a new adventure. The characters come alive on the pages, their voices and personalities vivid in my mind. I can almost see the settings, the magical lands and the charming little towns. The simple yet beautiful illustrations add another layer of charm to the story. As I turn each page, I am filled with a sense of nostalgia and warmth. It's like visiting an old friend. These children's books hold a special place in my heart, and I will always cherish the memories they bring. Rereading them is a reminder of the joy and wonder that comes with childhood.

I adored the Anastasia books as a child, and they still hold up extremely well as an adult!

One has to suspend their disbelief when reading this story. After all, what father in the real world would allow his 13-year-old daughter to stay home from school for an entire week just to take care of a three-year-old with chicken pox? It seems quite far-fetched.

However, if one can overlook this minor detail, the book is hysterically funny and highly entertaining. The characters and their antics are truly captivating. The "BLOOD OATH!" part adds an extra element of excitement and humor. I have a deep love for the Krupnik family and their adventures. Their relationships and interactions make the story come alive. It's a wonderful read that can bring joy and laughter to readers of all ages.

I vividly remember the moment when my mother was reading this particular book. She was laughing so hard that she seemed to be losing control. It truly is an incredibly funny piece of work. However, it's quite likely that the actual intended audience, which is supposed to be kids, might not fully appreciate its humor. After all, it's a kids' book that seems to have a special charm and appeal for adults. The language and the illustrations might be designed with children in mind, but there's something about it that strikes a chord with grown-ups. Maybe it's the nostalgia it evokes or the unique perspective it offers. In any case, it's a fascinating phenomenon that this kids' book can bring so much joy and laughter to adults while perhaps leaving the intended young readers a bit puzzled.

EXTREMELY INFLUENTIAL.

BLOOD OATH!!!!!!

This simple yet powerful combination of words holds a certain allure and mystery. The term "extremely influential" implies a force or entity that has a profound impact on the world around it. It could refer to a person, an idea, or an event that has the power to shape the course of history.

The addition of "blood oath" takes this concept to an even deeper level. A blood oath is a solemn and binding promise, often made with great ceremony and significance. It implies a level of commitment and loyalty that is unwavering and absolute.

Together, these words suggest a story of power, passion, and sacrifice. They evoke images of warriors, leaders, and revolutionaries who are willing to do whatever it takes to achieve their goals. It is a story that has been told throughout history, and one that continues to captivate our imaginations today.

Whether it is a tale of love and betrayal, or a saga of heroism and adventure, the idea of an extremely influential blood oath is one that will always hold a special place in our hearts and minds.

Anastasia’s mother is always extremely busy and scatterbrained. As a result, she is really struggling to keep track of all her responsibilities. In order to make the household run more smoothly, the family decides to engage in schedule making.

When the mother has to leave town on business, Anastasia is put in charge of everything. Logically, if the family adheres to the schedule, everything should be okay, right?

However, Anastasia quickly forgets about her mom’s previous messes. As the woman of the household, she makes some huge blunders. She is overly gullible when talking to telephone salespeople, which leads to various problems. She also ruins the laundry and makes many other mistakes.

To make matters worse, her little brother comes down with chicken pox and her father’s former flame pays a visit. So, Anastasia really has her hands full.

Although I had an overall liking for this novel, the initial premise of schedule-making and being organized didn't completely capture my interest. I didn't truly start to enjoy the book until after Anastasia's mom left for her trip and all the hilarious events began to unfold. I couldn't help but think that this book was very much like a sitcom - relatively short in length and filled with humor.

When I was little, I had an intense love for Anastasia. She appeared to be endlessly cool, and in contrast to the girls in many other books I read, she was far less annoying. Moreover, she gave the impression of someone one might eventually become and have a great deal of fun being. I also found solidarity in the way she coped with people rhyming things with her name.

Now, upon rereading this, I'm mostly astonished by how relevant it still feels. I recall making countless lists after reading this book, even though I now understand that much of the book's point is about how, no matter how much you plan your day, it might not necessarily be of much help! I also vividly remember being appalled that Anastasia was unaware of spam telephone calls.

Nevertheless, I truly did enjoy reading this again. I think I'm going to make a concerted effort to locate the rest of the series and reread those as well. It's interesting how a book from childhood can still hold such charm and relevance years later.

Perhaps it's because the themes of growing up, dealing with unique situations, and the unpredictability of life are universal and timeless. I'm looking forward to revisiting the other books in the series and seeing how they hold up against my current perspective.

Who knows, maybe I'll discover new aspects and interpretations that I missed the first time around.

Anastasia's father was truly completely useless, and it really pissed me off.

Why is it Anastasia who has to stay home with a sick kid? She already has so much on her plate. And does she really have to cook dinner for the ex-girlfriend?

For that matter, why the hell is the ex even coming by when mom's not home? It just doesn't make any sense.

And what was with the fat shaming? That was completely uncalled for and hurtful.

Anastasia doesn't deserve all this. She's trying her best to take care of everything, and yet she's being burdened with all these additional responsibilities and being treated poorly.

It's time for things to change. Anastasia needs support, not more stress and abuse.

Purple is the color of passion, after all. It has a certain allure that can make people feel excited and inspired.

I also loved the telephone shopping. It was such a convenient way to purchase things. Instead of having to go to the store physically, I could simply pick up the phone and browse through the catalogs. The representatives on the other end of the line were always friendly and helpful, answering all my questions and guiding me through the purchasing process.

Telephone shopping allowed me to discover new products and brands that I might not have otherwise come across. It was like having a personal shopper at my disposal. I could take my time, compare prices, and make informed decisions.

Overall, the combination of the passionate color purple and the convenience of telephone shopping made for a truly enjoyable experience. It added a touch of excitement to my daily life and allowed me to express my individuality through my purchases.

This is such a cute book.

It's really funny to think about how things have changed so much since this book was published.

Looking back at the content, you'll notice that much of it simply doesn't apply to today's situation.

The world has evolved in various ways, and what was relevant then may not hold the same significance now.

It's interesting to observe these differences and reflect on how our society and circumstances have transformed over time.

Despite the fact that some parts may seem outdated, the book still has its charm and can offer a unique perspective on the past.

It serves as a reminder of how far we've come and how quickly things can change.

Overall, it's a delightful read that makes you think about the passage of time and the ever-evolving nature of our world.

The one or two references to her 13-year-old friend's "diet" (not eating) were worryingly flippant.

Even though they might have been quite accurate from the perspective of another 13-year-old at that time, it is still concerning.

Fortunately, these were very small moments.

Myron's incompetence as a responsible parent/partner is both frustrating and baffling, yet also humorous.

And indeed, there wouldn't be a story without it.

Overall, I still love it. Katherine is so relatable, and Anastasia and Sam are gems.

I would rate it 4 - 4.5 stars.

The way the story is told, with its mix of light-hearted moments and more serious undertones, makes it a truly engaging read.

It makes you think about the challenges of growing up, the importance of friendship, and the role of parents in our lives.

Despite its flaws, it has a certain charm that keeps you hooked from beginning to end.

This was my FAVORITE Anastasia book as a kid.

I vividly remember spending countless hours lost in the pages of this wonderful story.

The characters were so alive and the plot was full of excitement and adventure.

And now, as an adult, I decided to revisit this old favorite.

To my delight, I found that I enjoyed it just as much this time around!

The story still had the same charm and magic that had captured my heart all those years ago.

It was like taking a trip down memory lane and rediscovering a beloved friend.

I was once again drawn into Anastasia's world and couldn't put the book down until I had finished it.

This book truly is a classic that will continue to be loved by generations to come.
