I purchased this 1919 edition from an antique store located in Boothbay Harbour, ME. It has found a permanent place on my shelf, and even if I never manage to complete reading it, it will remain there.
Finally, I have finished it! The beginning was quite perplexing as it introduced a plethora of characters all at once, making it challenging to determine who was speaking and who each person was. However, as I progressed towards the end, everything started to come together and became truly exciting. There was war, love, politics, and the most amazing descriptions. I firmly believe that if I were to go back and read it again, I would enjoy it even more since I can now follow the plot with greater ease.
What an extraordinary talent it is to tell an entire story in just 8 count lines that rhyme!
