Of the books I've read so far in the series, this one was my least favourite.

It was still a good story, don't get me wrong. I really enjoy the cats in the story. They are so charming and have their own unique personalities.

However, I just found that I didn't enjoy this plot as much as the last three. Maybe it was a bit too predictable or didn't have as many exciting twists and turns.

Despite that, I still think it's a worthy addition to the series and I'm looking forward to reading the next book to see what happens.

I'm sure the author will come up with something even better in the future.

It's really quite frustrating. Whoever published this addition clearly didn't read the book carefully. How could they add a tail to Joe?

Once again, I embark on a charming journey, spending a delightful few hours traipsing through the impossibly quaint Molena Point in the company of talking cat detectives. However, after finishing the book, I decide to give it away as it doesn't seem worthy of being owned for another read.

In this installment, which I believe is the fourth Joe Grey mystery, a new cat is introduced. It's rather nice to have a change of pace with whole scenes that don't involve humans and aren't just the flirtations of Joe and Dulcie. The introduction of jealousy adds an interesting element. Not only does it emphasize how human the character of Dulcie is, but it also allows us to delve into all the intricate little habits that cats have when they're angry with each other.

I must say about Murphy that she has cat mannerisms down pat. However, so much of this story felt fabricated. In fiction, you really shouldn't notice that the plot is being invented. Also, the author seems to have a penchant for similes. While there are some quite evocative images at times, when the page is littered with more "like"s than a Facebook post, it's time to introduce a metaphor or something different.

As usual, it serves as a good distraction and a pleasant read, but it doesn't quite reach the level of a must-own classic.
