This book is truly filled to the brim with an abundance of information. It repeatedly emphasizes that the problems we are currently confronted with have been recognized for numerous decades. However, not only have we failed to address the fundamental issues, but "we" have actually exacerbated them continuously.

The only drawback lies in the nature of the book being presented as a "conversation", yet it doesn't really read in that manner. Instead, it consists of a series of questions that are only loosely, if at all, connected. This leads to an odd stream-of-consciousness feel, as if one person's experience and perspective is being led around like a dog on a leash by someone else.

Nonetheless, it is still recommendable as it is highly informative. It offers valuable insights and knowledge that can help us better understand the complex issues we are facing today. Despite its flaws, the book's wealth of information makes it a worthwhile read for those interested in exploring these topics further.

Fuck he's funny! #tragicomic

Obloquy refers to strong public condemnation. It implies disgrace, especially that which is brought about by such public condemnation. For example, a public figure who engages in unethical behavior may face obloquy from the masses.

A canard is an unfounded rumour or story. It can also refer to a small winglike projection attached to an aircraft forward of the main wing to provide extra stability or control, sometimes replacing the tail. The word comes from French, meaning 'to quack'.

Anodyne means not likely to cause offence or disagreement, and somewhat dull. It can also refer to a painkilling drug or medicine. For instance, a speech that is full of anodyne platitudes may not engage the audience.

These dialogues between David Barsamian and Noam Chomsky are truly an eternal pleasure to read.

Barsamian is a highly skilled and well-informed questioner. He has a remarkable ability to understand the best ways to guide both the reader and Chomsky through a combination of current events and Noam's interpretations of those events.

These little dialogue books are perhaps the very finest introductions for anyone who is interested in the thought of the most important intellectual of the twentieth century.

This title, as well as its follow-up, ("What We say Goes"), are fantastic introductions to the critical analysis of modern neo-liberal politics. They also serve perfectly as jumping-off points for longer and more complex critiques, whether they are from Chomsky or other authors like Alexander Cockburn, Norman Finkelstein, Gilbert Achcar, or the wealth of other outstanding scholars who are writing and working for real change and progress for all people.

They provide a valuable starting point for those who wish to explore and understand the complex issues surrounding modern politics and society.

Overall, these dialogues are an essential read for anyone interested in intellectual discourse and the pursuit of knowledge.

This is a good and quick read that effectively provides a light overview of the structuring of American imperial power.

It doesn't delve extremely deeply into every aspect, but it does an excellent job of tying together high-level themes.

It explores how the US propaganda, which we are so accustomed to, functions and why it is so effective.

The author presents the information in a concise and engaging manner, making it accessible to a wide range of readers.

Despite not going into great detail, the book manages to offer valuable insights into the complex world of American imperial power and the role of propaganda within it.

It serves as a useful introduction for those who are interested in learning more about this topic, or as a refresher for those who are already familiar with it.

Overall, it is a worthwhile read that can help to expand one's understanding of the dynamics of American power and influence in the world.

It was not very coherent. Of course, the charming Chamsky's words were interesting, but some of his examples required more historical study.

The lack of coherence made it a bit difficult to follow the overall flow of the ideas. While Chamsky's remarks had their charm and were engaging, the need for a deeper exploration of history in relation to his examples was evident.

Perhaps with a more comprehensive understanding of the historical context, the examples could have been better understood and their significance more fully appreciated.

This would have enhanced the overall quality and clarity of the article, making it more accessible and meaningful to the readers.

As it stands, there is room for improvement in terms of coherence and the connection between the ideas presented and the historical background.

Loved it!

Freaking mind blowing how smart this dude is.

This book is a collection of interviews with Chomsky that span the last eight years or so.

The interviewer, whose name I forgot, has been picking Chomsky's brain for 20 years now.

What I learned: more of the same: don't trust people in power (especially Americans).

Yet deeper: Chomsky has a steel trap of a mind and recounts tragedy after tragedy of imperialism.

He provides in-depth analysis and exposes the hidden agendas and the harmful consequences of imperialist policies.

His insights make us question the status quo and think critically about the world we live in.

The interviews cover a wide range of topics, from politics and economy to social issues and international relations.

Chomsky's views are often controversial, but they are always thought-provoking and worth considering.

This book is a must-read for anyone who wants to understand the world better and make a difference.

Chomsky is truly a remarkable figure.

He is always thought-provoking, even when one might not initially agree with his stance.

However, more often than not, he turns out to be right.

This realization has made me reflect on my own attitude and perhaps I should stop being so rebellious or "punk".

One of the most interesting aspects of Chomsky is that he consistently presents a viewpoint that goes against the grain of mainstream politics, media, and other established institutions.

His unique perspective challenges the status quo and forces us to think more deeply about the issues at hand.

Moreover, on this particular recording, there is something familiar about his voice.

It reminds me of a therapist I once had, which in a strange way, adds an extra layer of comfort or connection.

Overall, Chomsky's ideas and the way he presents them continue to have a profound impact on my thinking.

I have a diverse group of thinkers who have had a profound impact on my perspective. Prominent among them are Toni Morrison, Patricia Williams, bell hooks, Gina Dent, Martin Luther King Jr., Malcom X, Tookie Williams, Mumia Adbul-Jamal, and most significantly, Cedric Robinson. However, for the past two years, I have been closely following the works of Noam Chomsky.

Chomsky's investigations into the "Rollbacks" of the social contract that the United States purports to uphold within its borders of democracy, freedom, and liberty are both enlightening and thought-provoking. Through simple yet incisive observations of the media's coverage of domestic and foreign policies, not only in the United States but also in countries like Australia, Germany, Britain, and Israel, he vividly demonstrates how corporate tyrannies operate as totalitarian regimes, all the while deceiving consumers into believing that they are active participants in a democratic process.

I am still in the process of delving deeper into Chomsky's ideas and their implications.

Peace.

I have read this book approximately 20 times, and it truly shows.

The pages are all bent up, and the cover is all twisted and messed.

I have read it so many times because every single time I do, I LEARN.

It's like what? LEARNING? That's just awesome.

Although it is dated, it remains equally interesting.

It makes me feel smart.

Not like that "the jungle is one of my favorite books" kind of pretend smart.

This book has a special charm that keeps drawing me back.

Each reading uncovers new details and perspectives that I might have missed before.

It's like a never-ending treasure hunt of knowledge and wisdom.

Even though it was written a long time ago, its message still holds true today.

I can't wait to read it again and see what else I can discover.

How to carry out mass atrocities under the guise of security? The answer is simple: scare the people by running 24/7 propaganda.

This kind of behavior is extremely immoral and illegal. By constantly bombarding the public with false or exaggerated information, those who carry out such atrocities can create a climate of fear and uncertainty, making it easier for them to carry out their heinous acts.

We must be vigilant against such behavior and oppose any form of mass atrocities. We should support the work of international organizations and human rights groups to ensure that those who commit such crimes are held accountable.

At the same time, we should also raise public awareness of human rights and promote the development of a more just and peaceful world. Only in this way can we prevent the recurrence of mass atrocities and protect the dignity and rights of every individual.
