I read a few months ago the book "What Does Uncle Sam Want?" by the famous American author Noam Chomsky.

The book has 103 pages and it is more like a documentary film about the dark history of the United States. One of the main benefits I gained after reading this book is that Saddam Hussein is considered merciful if we compare his crimes with the crimes of other American clients.

Since I read it electronically, I took the opportunity to note down some points. I hope it will be useful to you.

----------------------
The main objective of American foreign policy

1. Protecting our sphere
The Second World War severely damaged or even completely destroyed our industrial competitors, while our production tripled and our borders were not attacked. We owned 50% of the world's wealth and controlled the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. The planners agreed on the need to maintain that control, but there was a wide difference of opinion on how to achieve it.

- On the extreme side, they called for arms control negotiations - and advocated a strategy of disintegrating the Soviet Union - by sowing the seeds of destruction in its system so that we could negotiate with it on our terms. This requires huge military spending and a reduction in social programs, and a curtailment of the excessive tolerance that leads to internal differences. America cooperated with the Nazis, and then the cooperation involved secretly enlisting Hitler's clients to work inside the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe in the early 1950s.

- The opposing side was the realists, led by Kennan, who was intelligent and wrote a memo for formulating a policy that included: The real task in the coming period is to arrange a model for relations that preserves the continuation of that gap (America has about 50% of the world's wealth and only 6.3% of its population), and the need to focus on direct national goals. Human rights, living standards, and democracy are not real goals. The day when America is forced to deal with the logic of force is not far off. Kennan warned American envoys in Latin America of the importance of protecting America's primary resources there and the war in the region (the alliance), which America labeled as communist.

High-level studies in 1955 showed that the main threat from the communist forces lies in their refusal to perform their service role, that is, to complete the industrial economies of the West. Kennan explained the means that must be used in fighting the enemies who fell into the sphere of influence, and said that local governments should be used as a weapon for suppression, and it is better to have a strong system in power than a liberal, tolerant, lax government that the communists can penetrate. Based on that content and other issues, Guatemala, Wilson: Haiti and the Dominican Republic killed, destroyed, and disrupted the political system and seized American institutions in both countries, and created a stage for corrupt, brutal dictatorships in each of them.

2. The great sphere
It includes half of the Western Hemisphere, Western Europe, the Far East, former British colonies, and energy sources in the Middle East - which are like no other - which were flowing to us, and the rest of the Third World, if possible, the rest of the world. And it was subordinated to the requirements of the American economy as much as the circumstances allowed.

In every place in the world, there is a plan for it:
- Industrialized countries become huge workshops working under our supervision.
- Third World countries are a source of supplying capitalist societies with raw materials and represent our markets for selling manufactured products. The same goes for the reconstruction of South and Southeast Asia and Africa.

One of the results of that is the outbreak of the Vietnam War after the nationalists there refused to perform that role. The danger of Vietnam is that its independence threatens to become an example that others in the region will follow.

The American government had two concerns. The first was to ensure dominance over the great sphere, and this requires the possession of a terrifying threat power so that no one will interfere with that policy. This is one of the reasons for building the nuclear arsenal. The second was to provide government support for advanced technological industries.

3. Restoring the traditional system
Planners like Kennan realized the importance of rebuilding Western industrialized countries, including Japan, which was destroyed by the war, so that they could import American products and provide opportunities for investment, but this must be done in specific ways.

The traditional right-wing system must be restored, the power of business owners, the weakening of labor unions, and the working class must bear the burden of reconstruction. The resistance of fascism was a major obstacle to that, and it was eliminated in all parts of the world. Sometimes, the use of extreme violence was required, and sometimes other methods such as manipulating elections and preventing the arrival of the necessary forces were successful.

In 1942, Roosevelt set the model to be followed when he appointed the French admiral Jean Darlan as governor of French North Africa and set anti-Semitic laws. After the liberation of Italy, America imposed a right-wing authoritarian government. The planners realized that what threatens Europe is not an invasion from the Soviet Union, but rather the democratic movements and ideas opposed to fascism among the workers and peasants and the attractiveness of communist and socialist parties.

To rebuild the capitalist economy in Europe, America implemented the Marshall Plan and loaned Europe more than $12 billion, and with it, more than a third of American exports to Europe in 1949 were purchased! The American intelligence agencies in Italy took several measures to prevent the communists from winning the 1948 elections, but without guaranteeing their defeat. If they won, several measures were prepared, including military intervention to help the secret military movements in Italy.

American policy in the Third World:

Opposition to democracy by demonstrations and insistence if its results are outside our control, and the problem is that it is prone to falling into the sphere that claims that governments should respond to the interests of their peoples instead of the interests of American investors. America believes that a poor and weak country is the greatest danger. If you want a global system that submits to the requirements of American investors, you cannot allow some parts of that system to be penetrated.

Since the early 1970s, the world has been divided into three economic blocs:
The first: centered on Japan and its former colonies. After World War II, America had two options: either to leave Japan to follow its independent path or to rebuild it under its supervision. Of course, it chose the second option. America encouraged manufacturing in Japan, with the condition that it controls its oil supply. America was not in need of Middle East oil, but it wanted to put its hands on global energy sources and ensure that its profits flow to it and to Britain.

The second: Europe, which is dominated by Germany. Europe has a larger economy than America, more people, and better education. If Europe becomes a unified power, perhaps America will become a second-rate power.

The third: America, Canada, and it will include Mexico and other parts of the Western Hemisphere, thanks to free trade agreements that promote the interests of investors and their partners.

Destruction abroad

A study showed that American aid tends to increase with governments that torture their citizens and has nothing to do with the needs of the country, but only with the desire to serve investors. Another study revealed a clear correlation between torture and American aid around the world, and the torture and American aid are related to improving the business environment. America has always worked to establish relations with the military in foreign countries as they are a means of overthrowing governments that deviate from the line.

*They are completely brutal. We had great difficulty convincing them to receive messages instead of ears and limbs of the killed.*

The story is well-known, expected, and repeated. The ruler changes from a kind friend who is relied upon and deserves support and praise to a tyrannical dictator as soon as he begins to commit the crime of independence. The common and acceptable mistake for us is to go beyond the theft of his people's poor to starting things that do not concern him, such as the interests of businessmen and large companies, American of course. The administration of George Bush continued to honor Mobutu, Saddam Hussein, and Suharto, and all of their crimes were worse than the crimes of the puppet president, Noriega, who was a friend of the United States and then became an enemy of democracy.

What did you do when you had a virus? First: Deal with it. Second: Vaccinate those you think the virus will infect. Those are the main strategic lines of America with Third World countries. It is better for the local forces to destroy the virus. If they fail, you must move your forces. Vietnam is one of the areas where you had to do the work yourself. America blocked all attempts at political settlement because that means the possibility of success in development independently of American influence, and this is unacceptable.

After the end of the Vietnam War in 1975, American foreign policy focused on imposing more suffering and humiliation on that country that defied America. After Iraq's invasion of Kuwait, the UN Security Council condemned Iraq and immediately imposed a harsh embargo on it. Why was the response so quick? Why was it so strong? The American response was: The Iraqi aggression was a unique crime that deserved a harsh response in a unique way, and America - as it stood - against aggression and violators of the law. This is what President Bush, the only one in the world who was condemned by the International Criminal Court, told us. The media repeated behind the Bush administration... that the United Nations finally became able to perform the role for which it was created, which was impossible during the Cold War.

However, Saddam's atrocities in Kuwait were not like the atrocities of America's friends in China, South America, or Indonesia. *The quick and harsh response of the United Nations was only a result of the work and pressure of America and the agreement of Britain and France on that.* America opposed any diplomatic solution and by rejecting it, America achieved its main goals in the Gulf. It seized the oil sources of the Middle East and its huge profits to improve its economy and the economy of its ally, Britain. After that, there was a burden on America, which was to maintain the situation in the entire region, including Saddam Hussein against any popular, Shiite, or Kurdish uprisings. But it did not succeed in that.

Imposing the American system on the Third World exceeds its economic ability, so Japan and Europe must contribute to the costs of maintaining that system that serves their interests. In general, the use of force to control the Third World is the last resort. There is the World Bank, which is much cheaper, followed by the work of the American intelligence agencies and the American navy, but there must always be an allusion to a strong grip with a practical statement from time to time.

*When a government succeeds in achieving exploitation and makes the islands live in luxurious wealth in the midst of a sea of abject poverty, it is necessary to find a way to deceive the people and divert their attention. There are few ways, and most of them are traditional, such as frightening the people from a terrifying enemy who is about to pounce on us, while praising our wise leaders who are working hard to save us.* The Soviet Union was that bogeyman, as was Qaddafi and his international terrorist supporters. The current bogeyman is Saddam after he committed the unique crime that deserves punishment - the crime of deviating from the line - in August 1990. It has now become necessary to realize the truth that the main enemy in the Third World is deviating from the line.

*But all that can be changed, and this requires a cultural, social, and institutional change and a change in the formal democratic system to a real democracy that goes beyond the periodic elections that bring those who serve the interests of the rich and businessmen.*

Brainwashing
War is peace... Freedom is slavery... Ignorance is strength
Political terms have two meanings, one is the dictionary meaning that is commonly known, and the other is the meaning that serves the ideology of the powerful. Democracy, for example, means the people's participation in the management of their affairs, but in the ideology of the powerful, it means a system in which the elite of businessmen make the decisions and the general public watches that instead of participating in it.

We have large institutions that sell the viewers to the businessmen, so it is no wonder that we find that the image of the world presented by the media is nothing but a narrow and distorted reflection of the interests and values of the sellers and buyers. *Any system of rule, even if it is a fascist dictatorship, is for the oppression of its people.*

Who plans and manages American policy in all its affairs? They are a very small clique, consisting of political professionals, big businessmen, and the media. They are primarily concerned with their own interests and then come the interests of the American people.

- When a person enters the House of Representatives, he is impressed by what he sees of the grandeur of the behavior of this great council,... it is said that the representatives of the people do not always excel in writing a correct sentence.

- Western experts believe that it is impossible to transform the economic base without changing the political superstructure.

- There will be no freedom of speech if one side dominates the media or educational field, or if one side suppresses the presentation of its facts and point of view.

- Literary creativity cannot be manifested if there is no freedom of opinion.

- The existing laws are not sufficient to remove the belief of the white man in his superiority and superiority over other races.

*The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, asks: If the local products do not have a chance of success in the small local markets, do they have any chance of competing in the large global markets? Doesn't that mean the elimination of local industries?*

The book is important for any educated person in America who has no knowledge of its history.

The author presented a number of examples that give a picture of the hypocrisy of the officials and that all their concerns are only their own interests. And the part about the professor Adel completed what the author started with excellence and opened such a path if one wants to take advantage despite the short history of America, except that it is full of racism and hypocrisy.

I disagree with him only in his statement that the barriers placed on freedom cannot be overcome. We have seen this happening today in the demonstrations in support of Palestine that directly oppose Israel, even if it is met with violence and repression, but it exists and is increasing. But who in the nineties would have expected this to happen?

The book speaks of the strategic plans of General Sam (the most powerful ruler) of the United States after World War II, ensuring America's complete hegemony over the world and eliminating independence in various regions of the world, manifested in attempts of physical violence such as torture and occupation, and ideological design such as terrorism, incapacitation, and geographical control. So every place in the world has a planned role. For industrialized countries like Germany and Japan, they should become huge factories working under its supervision. And the countries of the Third World represent a rich source of raw materials and also markets for selling manufactured products.

In order to remain the most powerful country in terms of security and economy.

America is often portrayed as a democratic country that champions freedom and equality. However, this is far from the truth.

In fact, America is a form of slavery where the people cast their votes during elections but are then left in the dark about what truly goes on in their country and abroad.

One of the biggest lies in America is the so-called freedom of the press and speech. While the media can criticize the president and the government, when it comes close to powerful businesspeople, the wealthy, and especially the Jews, it will face severe punishment, as the author has described in his book.

The two prominent parties in America are the Republican and Democratic parties. But if you follow their paths to power, you will find that there is no real difference between them, which is not surprising as they are not the actual rulers of America.

The real controllers in America are the businesspeople, the wealthy, and the media. And when you think of wealth, your mind immediately goes to the Jews, who are indeed the ones who control American policies.

After World War I, America emerged and knew it would become the world's leading power. It worked hard to ensure that all weak countries were under its control and to weaken powerful countries. If any country tried to break free from its control, America would quickly take action to bring it back under its heel through dictatorial rulers, military coups, armed groups, and direct military intervention if necessary.

There are several countries that are small and not well-known, such as Nicaragua and Haiti. When their governments try to rise up, develop the country, reduce foreign investment (especially American), and establish a true democratic system, America becomes afraid not of these countries themselves but of the spread of democracy to other large countries, which it does not want. So, it intervenes to overthrow these governments and replace them with puppet governments that support foreign investment, suppress opponents, impose economic sanctions, and use armed groups, ultimately restoring the situation to what it was before.

History is not just about the passage of time, entertainment, and self-relaxation. Although these things are sometimes necessary, the essence is to learn from the mistakes of the past, strive not to repeat them, and look towards the future.

After reading this book and applying it to our current reality, two things came to my mind:

First, the revolution in Egypt and the quick and sudden overthrow of the corrupt dictatorial regime. America was worried about how to deal with the crisis, especially as Egypt has a crucial position as it is the neighbor of the Zionist entity. If the Egyptian people rose up, it would pose a threat to this entity.

Mubarak was removed, and the country entered a transitional phase. Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood came to power. However, they did not learn from history and ignored the real enemies of the country, the military, and behind them, America, which used their political naivety and failure to clean up the corrupt institutions to bring them down.

America then brought back military rule, but with the support of some ignorant Egyptians who sit in front of the TV and listen to the lies of the intelligence agencies.

America wanted to keep the Muslim Brotherhood and make them protect Israel's security. But what scared and worried America was the path that the people would take, which was that they would choose their own representatives who would be a free and national current that would ultimately develop the country, oppose Israel, and free the Arab peoples, especially the Egyptians, from the yoke of corrupt presidents and kings, which America did not want.

Second, the unexpected first popular revolution in Tunisia that overthrew the regime. The Tunisian army refused to help the Tunisian president, who was powerful in his own right, in suppressing the people or getting involved in political dilemmas.

The Muslim Brotherhood came to power and followed the same path of naivety as in Egypt, and America will not remain silent.

It will try to use the corrupt military leadership through money, their lust for power, intimidation, or other means.

It will also spend a lot of money to get people out in protest marches.

It will use the deep state to create crises.

And finally, the American military, which loves the country, will intervene and overthrow the democratic government with popular support.

And the dictatorial military rule that ensures America's and the Jews' interests and prevents the spread of revolutions in the Arab world will return.

Down with the military rule...
