If you know what Bernie Mac is like then you're love his material. This gives you an insight of Bernie Mac's World and probably paint you a picture of why his comedy is the way it is. Very funny and no one else can pull it off like he can! If you can get this on Audio book then it's even better!
Quite the life that this man has lived. I am in awe. Amazing book but I think what made this one even more memorable is the fact that he reads the audiobook and you can feel the different kinds of emotions he went through while writing this book. It’s honestly hard not to shed a tear while listening to this book.
Maybe you never cry again is Bernie Mac's memoir. He writes about growing up in Chicago with is mother and grandmother. His father was rarely around and not dependable. He lost his mother at sixteen to cancer and lived with his grandparents. He talks about getting married young to his wife to raise their daughter. He has many years of going from job to job always willing to do what he has to do to help keep a roof over his head. He also discovers he has a knack for being funny so during these years he is trying to get success at being a comedian. This proves to be a very long road of ups and downs. He does of course find success and even has his own show for a few years. I am glad he got the chance to write his memoir since sadly he had bad health the last couple of his years and died at age 50. A good memoir I enjoyed reading.
I really liked this book. I have enjoyed growing up hearing Bernie Mac's stand up comedy, until I was asked to leave the room at the more adult parts. I enjoyed his TV sitcom series and his movies. I listened to the audiobook which Bernie read and, for me, that's the best way for me to hear someone's story. He seemed like a genuine guy with a moral compass that was instilled in him by the powerful females of his family.
