The more you read Fitzgerald, the more you come to enjoy him.

Fitzgerald's works are like a magical door that leads you into a world full of glamour, romance, and tragedy. His writing style is so细腻 and vivid that it makes you feel as if you are actually living in the stories he tells.

Each character he creates is unique and complex, with their own dreams, desires, and flaws. You can't help but be drawn into their lives and care about what happens to them.

Moreover, Fitzgerald's exploration of themes such as love, wealth, and the American Dream is both profound and thought-provoking. His works make you question your own values and beliefs, and see the world from a different perspective.

In conclusion, reading Fitzgerald is a truly enriching experience that can bring you joy, inspiration, and a deeper understanding of the human condition.

This volume of these 9 short stories could easily have been regarded as an anti-climax after the perfection and smashing success of 'The Great Gatsby' published just a year before. There are many reasons for this. Mainly, it is due to the frustrations that my beloved writer was experiencing at the time of writing them. He was grappling with marital and financial issues, and that was highly evident in his words.

Two of the most renowned tales, the exquisitely elegiac ‘The Rich Boy’ and ‘Winter Dreams’, center around wealthy protagonists – the old-money Anson Hunter and the self-made man Dexter Green – as they come to terms with lost love. Meanwhile, ‘Absolution’, in which a boy confesses to a priest, was initially penned as a background piece for The Great Gatsby.

Except for one or two stories, the rest are moderately fulfilling and engaging enough to keep one reading this book until the very last page. But all in all, the book was, for me, an extra delightful entry into the world of one of the greatest American writers – Fitzgerald's delectable slice of literature.

“He wanted to care, and he could not care. For he had gone away and he could never go back anymore. The gates were closed, the sun was down, and there was no beauty left but the gray beauty of steel that withstands all time. Even the grief he could have borne was left behind in the country of youth, of illusion, of the richness of life, where his winter dreams had flourished.”

A book of short stories lies before me. I had the intention of reading "The Sensible Thing" in order to work through the so-called Gatsby Cluster of stories. However, as I delved into the book, I found that almost all the stories within it are truly very good.

Each story seems to have its own unique charm and allure. They draw the reader in with their engaging plots, well-developed characters, and vivid descriptions.

It's as if the author has crafted a world within the pages of this book, a world filled with different emotions, experiences, and perspectives.

I find myself getting lost in these stories, completely absorbed in the lives and adventures of the characters.

Whether it's a tale of love and loss, a mystery waiting to be solved, or a journey of self-discovery, each story has something to offer.

I'm glad I decided to pick up this book of short stories, and I look forward to continuing my exploration of the Gatsby Cluster and beyond.
