The letter size of the text and the illustration style make this picture book very appropriate for older children.

The text is large enough for them to read easily, without straining their eyes. The illustrations are detailed and engaging, adding depth and dimension to the story.

The story itself is also an appealing one. It may have more complex themes and characters compared to picture books for younger children. It could involve elements of adventure, mystery, or even a moral lesson.

Older children will be able to relate to the story on a deeper level and use their imagination to fully immerse themselves in the world created by the author and illustrator.

This picture book is not only a great source of entertainment but also a valuable tool for promoting literacy and cognitive development in older children.

We have read this book at least six times since bringing it home from the library on Tuesday.

Ryan is truly fond of it. However, I believe that he is more intrigued by listening to all the diverse kinds of cakes and pastries rather than the narrative of how Annie ultimately bakes a cake that pleases Cora Lee.

The various descriptions of the delicious treats seem to capture his imagination. He loves to hear about the different flavors, textures, and decorations.

While the story of Annie and Cora Lee is interesting, it's the mention of the cakes and pastries that really grabs Ryan's attention.

It's as if he can almost taste them as we read aloud.

Perhaps this is because he has a sweet tooth and dreams of trying all those wonderful creations himself one day.

Overall, this book has become a favorite in our household, thanks in part to Ryan's love for all things related to cakes and pastries.

This is a longer kids' book, yet it has an amazing story.

My son and I both adored it.

The addition of a recipe at the end truly makes it a wonderful book for a table event.

It not only engages the children with its captivating narrative but also provides a practical and fun activity related to food.

The story takes the readers on an exciting journey, filled with interesting characters and adventures.

As my son and I were reading it, we were completely immersed in the world created by the author.

The recipe at the end is a great bonus, allowing kids to get hands-on in the kitchen and create something delicious.

It turns the reading experience into a multi-sensory and interactive one, making it even more memorable.

Overall, this book is a great choice for kids who love stories and enjoy getting involved in cooking.

Despite the fact that this book was given to me by [redacted], it was truly a great one.

I found myself thoroughly enjoying various aspects of it. The descriptions of the food were so vivid that it made my mouth water.

The portrayal of the women was also quite captivating, each with their own unique charm and personality.

However, what I liked most of all was the central idea that emerged throughout the story. It was the notion that everything has the potential to become better when you show genuine care and treat people nicer than they perhaps deserve.

This simple yet profound concept really struck a chord with me and made me reflect on my own interactions with others.

Overall, this book was not only an entertaining read but also a thought-provoking one that left a lasting impression on me.

Another Point of View is a theme that is quite similar to my favorite. However, one aspect that I find rather interesting is that nobody ever bothered to check with the ghost what her point of view was. This adds an element of mystery and intrigue to the story.

Unfortunately, the illustrations in this work are not to my taste at all. They seem to lack the charm and creativity that I would expect. As a result, I cannot give it a personal rating higher than 3. I'm sorry about that.

Oh, and I should also mention that this is not a suitable work for tots. It is much too long and might bore them. It is more likely to appeal to older readers who can appreciate the complexity of the theme and the writing style.

Overall, while Another Point of View has some interesting aspects, the illustrations and the length prevent it from receiving a higher rating from me.

Here is a wonderful story that I'm sure you'll love. It's about a group of friends who decided to have a baking competition. Each of them brought their unique skills and creativity to the table.

One friend, in particular, had a secret ingredient that she added to her cake. When the cakes were judged, everyone was amazed by the delicious flavor and moist texture of her creation.

And now, I'm going to share with you the great cake recipe that she used. It's a simple yet decadent combination of ingredients that will surely satisfy your sweet tooth.

First, preheat your oven to 350°F. Then, in a large mixing bowl, cream together 1 cup of softened butter and 1 cup of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Add 4 eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Next, stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, sift together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with 1 cup of milk. Mix until well combined.

Finally, pour the batter into a greased cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove it and place it on a wire rack to cool completely.

Once the cake is cooled, you can frost it with your favorite frosting or simply dust it with powdered sugar.

Enjoy this wonderful cake recipe and create your own delicious memories!

A truly heartwarming and sweet (and no, the pun is not intended) story that I had the pleasure of hearing on NPR. It was a tale that immediately captured my attention and tugged at my heartstrings.

The story began with a young couple who had been married for just a few years. They were deeply in love and had big dreams for their future together. However, life had other plans.

One day, the husband was diagnosed with a rare and terminal illness. The couple was devastated, but they refused to give up hope. They decided to make the most of the time they had left together.

Over the next few months, the husband's health deteriorated rapidly. But throughout it all, the wife remained by his side, providing him with love, support, and comfort.

In the end, the husband passed away peacefully in his wife's arms. But their love story didn't end there. The wife continued to honor his memory by doing the things they had always dreamed of doing together.

This story is a beautiful reminder that love can conquer all. It shows us that even in the face of tragedy, there is always hope and beauty to be found.

A young baker found himself in a rather strange situation. He had recently taken over a pastry shop that was said to be haunted by the ghost of the previous owner, a woman. The ghost seemed to be searching for something, and the baker was determined to find out what it was.

One day, while he was rummaging through the back of an old cookbook, he came across a delicious looking recipe for chocolate cake. Something about it caught his eye, and he decided to give it a try.

As he was baking the cake, he felt a strange presence in the room. He looked around, but there was no one there. However, he could sense that someone was watching him.

When the cake was done, he cut a slice and took a bite. It was the most delicious chocolate cake he had ever tasted. Just then, the ghost of the woman appeared in front of him. She smiled and said, "Thank you. This is exactly what I was looking for." And with that, she vanished into thin air. The baker was left wondering what had just happened, but he was glad that he had been able to help the ghost find what she was looking for.

The content we have here is way more extensive than what would typically be published in today's standards.

However, despite its length, the story is truly great. It has the power to captivate the readers and take them on an amazing journey.

The art that accompanies the story is simply wonderful. The illustrations are detailed and vivid, bringing the story to life in a whole new way.

The characters in the story are also delightful. They are well-developed and have unique personalities that make them easy to love and root for.

Overall, this is a piece of work that has a lot to offer, despite its unconventional length. It shows that sometimes, a longer story can be just as engaging and enjoyable as a shorter one, if it is told well and accompanied by great art and characters.

We borrowed this book from the Advanced Picture Books section of the library.

We hadn't tried books from this section before as my daughter is only 4.

The story is about a ghost named Cora Lee Merriweather who haunts her old bake shop after her death.

It definitely took us longer to read compared to regular picture books. The pages contain fuller paragraphs, and there are some bigger words like "flummoxed", which I thought was great. The sentences are more sophisticated than those in my daughter's regular books.

We really enjoyed the illustrations. They really conveyed the supernatural feel of the ghost, but in a light-hearted way.

I would definitely read more books by this author. The way the story was told and the illustrations combined made it a great reading experience for both my daughter and me. It was a nice change from the typical picture books we usually read. I'm looking forward to seeing what other wonderful stories this author has to offer.

Loved reading this book to my kiddos.

My 6 year old really enjoyed it. It was such a wonderful experience to share this story with them.

The book had engaging illustrations that captured their attention from the very beginning.

As I read aloud, my little one would listen intently, his eyes wide with excitement.

We would discuss the characters and the events in the story, which helped to develop his imagination and critical thinking skills.

The book also had valuable life lessons that I was able to impart to him in a fun and accessible way.

I'm so glad I chose this book to read to my kids. It has become a favorite in our household and I look forward to reading it to them again and again.

I highly recommend this book to any parent or caregiver looking for a great read-aloud book for their children.
