I don't have a great passion for poetry in general, but there is one poem that truly stands out for me, and that is The Road Not Taken.

This poem has a certain charm and allure that keeps drawing me back.

The way Robert Frost describes the two roads in the forest makes me imagine a similar situation in my own life.

Which path will I choose?

Will I take the well-trodden path that seems safe and familiar, or will I be brave enough to venture down the less traveled one?

The poem makes me think about the choices we make and how they can shape our future.

It also reminds me that sometimes, the choices that seem the hardest at the time may lead to the most fulfilling experiences.

Overall, The Road Not Taken is a beautiful and thought-provoking poem that I will always cherish.

Over the course of two weeks, I engaged in the task of curating a collection for the 7th grade poetry project.

It was an exciting yet challenging endeavor. I scoured through various sources, including classic poetry anthologies, modern literary magazines, and online platforms dedicated to poetry.

The goal was to select a diverse range of poems that would not only capture the students' interest but also expose them to different styles, themes, and emotions.

I carefully read each poem, considering its language, imagery, and overall impact. Some poems immediately stood out, with their beautiful words and profound messages. Others required more careful consideration and analysis.

As I curated the collection, I also thought about how the poems could be used in the classroom. I considered activities such as group discussions, individual interpretations, and creative writing exercises.

By the end of the two weeks, I had assembled a collection of poems that I believed would inspire and engage the 7th grade students in their poetry project.

Christmas is a time of joy and giving, and this year, I received a very special gift from my mom.

When I opened the beautifully wrapped box, I was greeted with a warm smile from my mom and a wonderful surprise inside. It was a hand-knitted scarf, crafted with love and care.

The scarf was soft and cozy, and the colors were just perfect. I could tell that my mom had spent a lot of time and effort on it.

As I wrapped the scarf around my neck, I felt a sense of warmth and love that filled my heart. This gift was not just a piece of clothing, but a symbol of my mom's love and thoughtfulness.

I will cherish this Christmas gift from my mom forever and wear it with pride. It will always remind me of her love and the special bond we share.

Thank you, mom, for this wonderful gift and for your never-ending love. Merry Christmas!

Any time I hear the name ‘Robert Frost’, my mind instantly reverts to his poem ‘The Road Not Taken’.

Perhaps that’s because it’s my favorite of his poems, or perhaps it’s because the only collection of his poetry I owned prior to purchasing this one is titled ‘The Road Not Taken’.

Whatever the reason, it’s certainly his most famous poem.

In this collection of poetry, which Robert Frost himself compiled, special care was paid in selecting pieces that describe nature and friendships with a vibrancy that is so appealing to children.

He writes of roses and birch trees, the passing of seasons, the passing of friends, and the mending of an old farm wall.

Rather than describing ecstasies and plunges of emotion, he concentrates instead on the aspects of our world that we all experience but seldom appreciate.

These two fun poems capture Frost’s style fairly well.

The first is only one stanza from a longer poem: “You ought to have seen what I saw on my way To the village, through Patterson’s pasture today: Blueberries as big as the end of your thumb, In the cavernous pail of the first one to come! And all ripe together, not some of them green And some of them ripe! You ought to have seen!” [pg. 17]

I love the next poem, a tribute to the marvel of fireflies: “Here come real stars to fill the upper skies, And here on earth come emulating flies, That though they never equal stars in size, (And they were never really stars at heart) Achieve at times a very star-like start. Only, of course, they can’t sustain the part.” [pg. 40]

Conclusion. Good.

I firmly believe that this is an extremely excellent poetry book. In the past, I have always held a strong aversion to poetry books. However, everything changed until I happened to read this particular one. The poems contained within this book are truly outstanding. They are so captivating that they have managed to take all the years of my previous dislike for poetry and simply toss it into the trash without a second thought. The poems are highly descriptive, painting vivid pictures in the reader's mind. At the same time, they also leave just enough unsaid, allowing the reader to freely utilize their imagination and fill in the blanks. It is as if the poet is guiding the reader on a journey, while still giving them the freedom to explore and discover on their own.
