One day, I'm going to make an attempt and write poetry.

And when I do so, my aspiration is for it to bear a resemblance to Mr. Frost's or Josh Bingham's.

However, deep down, I'm fully aware that it probably won't.

The works of these great poets are so unique and masterful that it seems almost impossible to replicate their style.

Yet, I still have this burning desire to give it a try.

I believe that through the process of writing, I can explore my own creativity and express my thoughts and emotions in a different way.

Even if my poetry doesn't reach the level of Mr. Frost or Josh Bingham, it will still be a valuable experience for me.

Maybe one day, with enough practice and dedication, I'll be able to develop my own distinct style and create something that is truly my own.

Until then, I'll keep on writing and learning, hoping to come closer to my goal.

This small paperback has been migrating around my nightstand for years.

It contains inviting and accessible poetry that is far from being trite. It is truly a book that rewards the occasional reader.

I have a particular penchant for reading the winter poems within it. I had completely forgotten about the poignant poem, The Death of the Hired Man. Oh, how I long to lead a class discussion on it!

A few years ago, I labeled our year as the "You Come Too" year. Every trip we took was shared with a friend or family member. I absolutely love this phrase; it would make an excellent life motto.

It encapsulates the idea of inclusiveness and sharing experiences with those we care about. It reminds us that life is more enjoyable when we have others by our side to share the joys and sorrows.

This small paperback and the "You Come Too" concept both hold a special place in my heart and have had a profound impact on my life.

Robert Frost's collection of poems is truly a remarkable one. It is said to be targeted at younger readers, but this old man has found it to be extremely enjoyable. Frost's works can sometimes lean a bit too much towards the pastoral for my taste, but when he really hits the mark, it is with such power. His profoundness is combined with simplicity in a way that is truly captivating.

There are several images from these poems that have been etched in my mind for years since I first read them. In "The Death of the Hired Man," the two definitions of home are particularly memorable. One is "Home is the place where, when you have to go there, / They have to take you in," and the response "I should have called it / Something you somehow haven't to deserve." In "The Tuft of Flowers," the feeling of brotherhood as a worker notices flowers left unmown for their beauty is touching. The line "'Men work together,' I told him from the heart, / 'Whether they work together or apart'" really brings out this sentiment.

In "A Minor Bird," the guilt at shooing away a bird for its loud chirping and the realization that there must be something wrong with wanting to silence any song gives a sense of the importance of individuality. And in "A Passing Glimpse," the joy in small things, like seeing flowers out of a train window, is beautifully captured with the line "Heaven gives its glimpses only to those / Not in position to look too close."

The collection also includes three of my favorite poems. "The Road Not Taken" is a classic, with its description of a traveler faced with a choice between two roads in a yellow wood. The decision to take the less traveled road and the knowledge that it will make all the difference is both thought-provoking and inspiring. "Acquainted with the Night" creates a mood of solitude and melancholy as the speaker walks in the rain and experiences the quiet of the night. And "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" is a beautiful and peaceful poem, with its description of the lovely, dark and deep woods and the speaker's need to keep his promises and continue on his journey.

Overall, this collection of Robert Frost's poems is a must-read for anyone who appreciates the beauty and power of poetry.

I really enjoyed reading these poems one or two at a time and then taking the time to think about them. It's quite remarkable that Robert Frost himself handpicked this collection of poems specifically for young readers. However, it's important to note that not every single poem in this collection is equally appealing. Each young reader has their own unique interests and preferences. So, it might be a good idea for a young reader to carefully select the poems that truly capture their attention and interest. This way, they can fully engage with the poems and gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of Frost's work.

By choosing the poems that resonate with them, young readers can embark on a personal journey of exploration and discovery within the pages of this collection. They can let their imaginations run wild and allow the words of the poems to paint vivid pictures in their minds. It's a wonderful opportunity for young readers to connect with the beauty and power of poetry and to develop a lifelong love for literature.

This book presents a compilation of poems by Robert Frost.

These are short and charming poems. One of my favorite poems within it is "The rose family".

The poem symbolizes beauty as a rose, stating that everything is a rose.

It implies that everybody and everything is beautiful.

Another poem that I like is "Looking for a sunset bird in winter".

It讲述了一个人等待冬天离去的情景。

当他期待春天到来,鸟儿歌唱。

它有着生动的意象,描绘了风景。

"from north to south across the blue; A piercing little star was through."

This line creates a vivid picture in the reader's mind, as if one can see the star shining through the blue sky.

The poems in this compilation offer a wonderful exploration of different themes and emotions, making it a truly enjoyable read.

I would rate this poetry book with a perfect 5 out of 5 stars. The reason is that Robert Frost employs extremely descriptive words throughout the collection. His use of language allows the reader to vividly imagine the scenes and emotions he is trying to convey.

Moreover, Frost has a plethora of unique poems in this book. One particular poem that stands out is the one about a guy chopping wood. This poem not only描绘s the physical act of chopping wood but also delves into the deeper thoughts and feelings of the character.

Frost's ability to combine beautiful language with profound themes makes this poetry book a must-read for anyone who appreciates literature. It is a collection that will leave a lasting impression on the reader and is sure to be cherished for years to come.

Some classics,

such as those that have withstood the test of time and are widely regarded as masterpieces,

were presented. There were also some unknown (to me) beauties,

which means there were works or things that I had not previously encountered but were discovered to have their own charm and allure.

However, there was also a couple that fell flat or felt dated.

This implies that there were a few items or experiences that did not meet expectations or seemed old-fashioned and lacking in新鲜感. It's interesting to note the variety of elements present,

ranging from the highly regarded classics to the unexpected unknowns and the disappointments that didn't quite measure up. Overall,

it was a diverse collection that offered a range of perspectives and impressions.

Stirring, poignant, and practical - these are the qualities that define much of modern poetry. It delves deep into the realm of human emotion, exploring the highs and lows, the joys and sorrows that we all experience.

However, there is one poet who stands out for his unique perspective. Robert, in his work, never forgets about the land that serves as the backdrop for our emotional lives. He understands that nature is not just a passive observer but often takes on a character of its own.

Nature, with its beauty and power, has the ability to influence our emotions and shape our experiences. It can inspire us, comfort us, or even challenge us. Robert recognizes this and weaves it into his poetry, creating a rich tapestry of words that celebrate both the human and the natural world.

His poems are a reminder that we are not separate from nature but an integral part of it. We live and breathe within its embrace, and our emotions are intertwined with the ebb and flow of the natural cycles.

Robert's work serves as a powerful testament to the importance of nature in our lives and the need to protect and cherish it for future generations.

What a truly delightful collection of poetry this is!

I must admit that I did not used to be a huge fan of Frost. However, as I delved deeper into his works, I find myself increasingly lost in the pastoral language that he so skillfully employs in his poetry.

The vivid descriptions of nature and the simple yet profound emotions expressed in his verses have a certain charm that draws me in. It's as if he is painting a beautiful picture with words, allowing me to experience the tranquility and beauty of the countryside through his eyes.

I'm extremely glad that this was my first full dose of poetry this year. It has opened my eyes to a new world of beauty and inspiration, and I look forward to exploring more of Frost's works in the future.

I’ve never really had a great affinity for Frost. For some inexplicable reason, I just couldn’t seem to connect with his works. His poems are, indeed, quite simple in their construction, yet they are filled with numerous moral lessons that lie hidden between the lines.

However, something about this particular book, perhaps the fact that it is intended for children, or maybe it was the experience of reading the poems to my cat as she purred so sweetly in my lap, made me delve deeper and deeper into each one. “The Tuft of Flowers” had such a profound impact on me that it brought tears to my eyes. And “Tree at My Window” felt as if it was providing a peek into the many sleepless nights that have punctuated my life.

Thanks, Rob, for introducing me to this new perspective on Frost’s poetry. It has truly been a transformative experience.

I mostly read this on my commutes to and from work, and it was truly excellent.

As someone who has always had a deep love for "Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening," I had a strong hunch that I would really like Frost's poetry. And as it turns out, I was extremely right.

There is a certain simplicity in his works that not only invites sentimentality but also encourages detailed reading. The way different poems, such as "Stopping by the Woods..." and "You Come Too," interact and play off of each other is just wonderful to witness.

Overall, I had an outstanding time reading these poems.

I highly recommend this collection to anyone who has an appreciation for beautiful and thought-provoking poetry. It's a great addition to any bookshelf and is sure to provide hours of enjoyment.

Whether you're a long-time fan of Frost or new to his works, this collection is definitely worth checking out.

Some hits, some misses, but mostly hits!!

Frost is truly remarkable in his ability to describe the wonder of nature. His words have the power to make you long for the warmth of spring, even as he vividly描绘s the cold and beauty of winter.

“Be glad of water, but don't forget / The lurking frost in the earth beneath / That will steal forth after the sun is set / And show on the water its crystal teeth.” This quote is one of my favorites from his works. It captures the essence of the hidden danger and beauty that lies within nature. The image of the frost lurking beneath the earth and then emerging to show its crystal teeth on the water is both chilling and enchanting.

Frost's poetry allows us to see the world around us in a new light, to appreciate the beauty and mystery of nature, and to be reminded of the cyclical nature of life. His words have the power to touch our hearts and souls and to make us feel a deeper connection to the world we live in.
