There seem to have been a plethora of dark dramas penned within the American Theatre canon.

Nonetheless, this particular drama manages to carve out a special niche for itself right at the very apex of the heap.

In my humble opinion, it serves as the quintessential standard against which all other works within this genre ought to be meticulously measured.

It has a certain allure and power that sets it apart from the rest.

The themes explored, the characters developed, and the overall narrative arc all contribute to its preeminent status.

It is a work that demands to be studied, analyzed, and appreciated for its sheer artistry and ability to captivate and engage the audience on a profound level.

It truly is a masterpiece within the realm of American Theatre, and its significance cannot be overstated.

I simply cannot fathom that this is the very play that catapulted Shepard's career. Truly, there is not a single redeeming quality about it.

The characters within this play are as flat as a pancake and fail to engage the audience in the slightest. They lack depth and dimension, making it difficult for the viewers to form any sort of connection with them.

The plot, on the other hand, is lethally dull and completely devoid of imagination. It plods along in a predictable and uninteresting manner, leaving the audience feeling bored and unfulfilled.

This is a horrible play indeed! I feel nothing but pity for the poor students who are compelled to study it for school. It must be a truly torturous experience for them.

It is hard to understand how such a lackluster piece could have had such an impact on Shepard's career. There are surely many other plays out there that are far more deserving of acclaim and recognition.

That was the most insane play I've ever experienced. It was truly mind-boggling. The actions on the stage were so intense and unexpected that I was left completely speechless. I don't even know where to begin to describe it. The actors' performances were outstanding, bringing the story to life in the most vivid way. The plot twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire show. I have seen many plays before, but this one was in a league of its own. It was a rollercoaster ride of emotions, and I will never forget it. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves theater and wants to experience something truly unique.

The play that is widely recognized and highly esteemed in Sam Shepard's career presents an imagined worst-case scenario. It delves into what could potentially occur to one's history, role, and status within the family if they engage in excessive drinking and fail to return home for an extended period of time. This exploration offers a profound and thought-provoking look at the complex dynamics within a family unit. The consequences of such actions are likely to be far-reaching and have a significant impact on the relationships and lives of those involved. Shepard's work forces us to confront the harsh realities that can emerge when certain behaviors are left unchecked. It serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of maintaining healthy relationships and being accountable for our actions within the family.

Sam Shepard’s Buried Child begins quietly, creating a deliberately false initial impression, only to hit the reader in the face in the second act, asking: “Do you see? And what exactly do you see?”.

Craziness. In a good way.

This kind of craziness is not the wild and unruly chaos that one might initially think. It is a unique and wonderful state of being. It's the kind of craziness that drives people to pursue their dreams with unwavering determination, to step out of their comfort zones and embrace the unknown.

When someone is in this state of good craziness, they are willing to take risks, to try new things, and to push the boundaries of what is possible. It gives them the courage to face challenges head-on and to persevere through difficulties.

This good craziness can lead to amazing achievements and personal growth. It allows us to discover our true potential and to create something truly extraordinary. So, embrace the craziness in a good way and let it take you on an adventure of a lifetime.

One of the more disturbing dramas I've read is truly tres creepy.

It sends shivers down your spine and makes you question the darker aspects of human nature. The story unfolds in a way that keeps you on the edge of your seat, with every twist and turn adding to the sense of unease.

The characters are complex and flawed, which makes their actions all the more believable and terrifying. You can't help but be drawn into their world, even as you recoil from the horror that awaits.

The drama explores themes such as jealousy, revenge, and obsession, and does so in a way that is both thought-provoking and deeply unsettling. It's not for the faint of heart, but for those who dare to venture into its pages, it offers a truly unforgettable experience.

HELP! I really didn't understand the play at all. The story seemed so complex and the dialogue was rather difficult to follow. I found myself constantly getting lost in the plot and not being able to make sense of what was happening. The characters' actions and motives were also a mystery to me. I tried my best to pay attention, but it felt like I was missing something crucial. I'm not sure if it was because the play was too advanced for me or if I just didn't have the right background knowledge. Either way, I'm really frustrated and would appreciate any help or explanation to make sense of this play.

I don't rate set books, but damn this was amazing!

I didn't expect to love this as much as I did. Plays never really hit as hard as novels for me. I usually find novels more immersive and engaging, with their detailed descriptions and complex character developments.

However, this play managed to break through my expectations. It had a powerful storyline that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The characters were well-developed and relatable, and I found myself emotionally invested in their fates.

The dialogue was sharp and witty, adding an extra layer of depth to the story. The staging and direction were also excellent, creating a visually stunning and immersive experience.

Alas here we are, and I have to admit that this play has completely changed my perception of the medium. I'm now looking forward to exploring more plays and seeing what other hidden gems are out there.

I’m too dumb for this.

It seems that no matter how hard I try, I just can't seem to understand or master certain things.

I often find myself struggling with tasks that others seem to breeze through effortlessly.

Maybe it's because I lack the necessary intelligence or aptitude.

But even so, I refuse to give up.

I keep pushing myself, hoping that one day I'll have that breakthrough moment and finally "get it."

I know that being dumb is not a permanent state, and with hard work and determination, I can improve.

So, even though I may feel discouraged at times, I'll continue to persevere and do my best.

After all, as the saying goes, "where there's a will, there's a way."

The 1979 Pulitzer play is a rather奇特的 combination. It's like Alice in Wonderland meets All My Sons and then crosses paths with Texas Chainsaw Massacre. For me, a great deal of it was just too 'crazy'. I came across the information that when Gary Sinise directed it, it adopted a sort of burlesque air.

I can envision how, if this show were to have a less realistic staging, it might possess a bit more power. As it stands now, the realism within it appears to dissipate into random sentences and unbelievable actions. To the extent that the "big reveal" is actually one of the least insane or shocking aspects of the play, which makes it feel rather anti-climactic.

Perhaps a different approach to the staging could have enhanced the overall impact and made the play more engaging and memorable. It's interesting to think about how a simple change in the way it is presented could potentially transform the entire experience for the audience.

I listened to this as a play,

a noisy, confusing, headache-making play.

It was a real struggle to get through it. Fortunately, I managed to listen to it in one go as I highly doubt I would have had the patience to return to it otherwise.

I do have a basic understanding of the underlying story, but the rest of it really has me baffled.

I'm inclined to think that the family must have all gone mad because of what took place, but I'm not entirely certain.

There was just too much going on, yet not nearly enough information provided.

Or perhaps it was the incessant noise that prevented me from listening effectively.

Anyway, pass me another book so that I can erase this one from my memory completely.

I'm hoping for something more engaging and less chaotic to get my mind off this dismal experience.

Maybe the next book will be a real gem and make me forget all about this lackluster play.

I can only cross my fingers and wait.
