I have been having a bit of a problem with the library. They seem to be ghosting me when it comes to the brown book I was looking for. So, I have decided to only read the blue book for now.

However, here Wittgenstein seems off the mark without being concise and to the point as he often is in other work. It is my least favorite of all I have read from Wittgenstein by far, even if it at times was more accessible.

Perhaps it is worth reading again, but it is not useful to a modern analytic philosopher and runs counter to the continental (at least Husserlian) tradition in extreme ways.

It is hard to know what to make of it all. Perhaps it even necessitates a second reading. It is a very difficult-to-categorize work of philosophy that I feel is almost anti-philosophy.

If one simply makes all philosophical disputes mere verbal disputes, of course we can reduce it to these rather simple algorithms. But is meaning mere use? Is grammar all we can consider?

I simply feel here that Wittgenstein goes too far in rejecting supposedly "private" experience. At the same time, there is something beautiful about this very stringent approach which rejects psychological-subjective experience as a valid detour in any philosophical argumentation.

Wittgenstein stands as a monolith in philosophy due to these more radical approaches - for good and for worse. A monolith may be noticeable, but it lacks complex structure and nuance.

Anyway, it is a quick read for a philosophy book, so perhaps not to avoid or anything like that. It is worth a quick reading at least!
