The movie that first introduced me to Peter S. Beagle's work was truly a remarkable experience. It opened the door to a whole new world of his creativity. From that movie, I was led to the book, which, as expected, was even more amazing than the movie. Naturally, it had more depth and detail that the movie couldn't fully capture.

Then, I delved into his novels. They were good, but perhaps not as accessible to my teenage self as I had hoped. However, they still held a certain charm and kept me engaged.

Finally, I discovered his short stories, and this is where I found an especially nostalgic place in my life. The stories had a unique quality that made them truly memorable.

One particular moment of humor from the butterfly stands out: "It's you and me, moth. Hand to hand to hand to hand to..." It added a touch of lightness and fun to the otherwise enchanting narrative.

“The Last Unicorn” – along with “The Neverending Story” and “Requiem for Homo sapiens” – made me who I am. It shone and trembled beside me in the deepest darkness. It reminded me that great heroes need great toil and burden, otherwise half of their greatness remains unnoticed. And that I can't perform true magic if I sacrifice someone else's fraction – that I must pluck out my own. (And not wait to get it back.) It was my companion, my song, parent and child...

I tried to tell more:

But only words remain. For true magic, you will need a unicorn.

(Peter... how did you manage?)

Addendum from 26.02.2015: Did you see? The new unicorns are coming. They are coming! :)))

This is for all the fans of Red Bull!

Sure, I have to admit that after drinking that darn stuff, I feel a bit haggard. It seems to have some rather strange effects. Not only does it make you feel a bit off, but it also gives you this odd sense that it might contribute to a murderous rage toward all unicorns. However, despite these initial impressions, the drink does have a certain charm that grows on you over time.

That being said, let's talk about the novel. The novel itself is truly a remarkable piece of work. It is a clear and wonderful example of a self-aware fairy-tale. What makes it so special is that it manages to stay simple and yet extremely strong. This is a testament to the great writing skills of the author.

Even better than that, the novel brings out the core theme of wonder and awe in a truly captivating way. It shows how the search for one's dreams can lead to either darkness or light. This exploration of the human condition is both thought-provoking and engaging.

Moreover, the novel is also very charming. It has a certain magic that draws you in and keeps you hooked from beginning to end.

In conclusion, not much else needs to be said except that this novel probably deserves all the love and praise that has been showered on it. It is well worth the read and will leave you with a lasting impression.

The last unicorn tells the story of the disappearance of unicorns one by one until only one of them remains. The remaining unicorn, in order to find its kind, goes with a wizard named Schmendrick and a middle-aged woman named Molly Grue to a place where a red bull is kept. During its journey, the unicorn hears that the red bull is chasing the unicorns and destroying them.

There are many stories that I grew up with, and The Last Unicorn is one of them. Now, I think theoretically, I have almost understood the reason for my interest in stories. Every story ultimately ends with courage. Even if the hero is completely or not at all successful, there is a heroism that has been shown in relation to his situation.

And I myself am by no means a brave person (unknown), but every day I seek it more. I believe that courage and the search for it play an important role in our lives. Because if I want to cross a big and dangerous gorge, these things may happen: 1. I fall into the deep and dark gorge and die. 2. I realize that the height of the gorge is actually only twenty centimeters. 3. I don't reach it at all and return safely to the other side in complete failure. But if I live on the safe side of the gorge all the time, I can never have an adventure and I can never have a story to tell. I am more afraid of missing out on going back than any other horrible possibility.

Maybe because I'm still a child, I think like this. Maybe when I grow up, nothing will matter much to me. (?(?))

"Maybe you can't find the magic, but that's it. You summoned Robin Hood even though there is no Robin Hood. But he came and was real. That's the magic. You have whatever power you need, you just have to have the courage and look for it."
