I can't put it down and read it in one day. I remember my mom was mad at me because I'm like, "I don't want to eat yet, I'm reading a book!" After that I ate lunch, at our table while still reading and I'm holding the book in my other hand and holding the spoon in my other hand. That's how good this book is.

بدأت الرواية وأنا متحمس لقرائتها لما سمعته عنها وعن دان براون عمومًا.. لكني لم أجد هنا الكاتب العبقري الذي تحدثوا عنه، وإن كانت هذه الرواية هي أفضل ما كتب على حسب رأى الكثيرين، فهو إذاً لا يتعدى مرتبة الجيد، في نظري، وأرى أن السبب الأول في شهرة دان براون الكبيرة؛ هي الضجة الكبيرة التي أحدثها بتصادمه مع الكنيسة، لا أكثر.

الرواية بدأت بداية جيدة، ثم بدأت تأخذ مسارًا فزيائيًا مملا، وبدأت تدخل في أمور تاريخية وكنسية، ثم عادت إلى طابع الجريمة التي بدأت به الرواية، في رحلة يكتنفها الملل والملل والملل
إسهاب في الوصف بطريقة مملة إلى حد التطرق إلى مواضيع أخرى، فكانت تُخلّ بقوام السرد. وإقحام الكثير والكثير من المعلومات في الرواية بصورة مملة، فالرواية غايتها الأولى المتعة وليست المعلومات، وهو هنا ضحى بالأولى على حساب الثانية.. لا بأس أن تضيف معلومات لكن بشرط ألا تخرج عن مسار الرواية الأصلي.
كما أني لا أحب المدرسة التي تهتم بالحوار أكثر من السرد؛ وتقطع السرد بجمل حوارية؛ فترى أن الجمل الحوارية كثيرة، فتشعر بأنك تقرأ سيناريو لا رواية.

ولو أن الفيلم مختلف عن الرواية وبدلَّ وحذف الكثير من احداثها وشخصياتها، إلا أنه أفضل منها بكثير.

بالتأكيد سأعود للقراءة لدان براون قريبًا، فكاتب بهذه الشهرة، ليست هذه الرواية - بالطبع - هي أفضل ما كتب.

Privilegiando el arte del buen contar por encima de todo, Brown es, sin embargo y de manera especialmente conspicua, un escritor de historias enraizadas en los materiales de la alta cultura. Ya en Angels & Demons el renacimiento y la cristiandad son los sendos marcos a través de los cuales se desenvuelve la trama. Sería pertinente recordar que cuando leí The Da Vinci Code, su libro mejor conocido, Brown me pareció un autor de best sellers con un talento decididamente extraordinario para encontrar e inventar sus asuntos y los recovecos que los componen, pero cuyo estilo o prosa "funcional" se me antojaba reprochable. Lejos ahora de aquellos reparos contradictorios, he vuelto a devorar --o a ser devorado por, la sensación que uno siempre tiene con las novelas magistralmente narradas, sean de la naturaleza que sean-- un thriller como pocos.

Angels & Demons es a un tiempo similar y muy distinta del sumamente polémico texto que esgrime al Opus Dei como entidad antagónica. Aunque creo preferir aún ese episodio posterior, el libro al que dedico estas breves líneas no es ni mejor ni peor, y se puede decir antes de nada que ambas novelas son igualmente excelentes en sus respectivas ejecuciones sobre sus propias preocupaciones. En The Da Vinci Code, Langdon es ciertamente un héroe más inteligente aun, y Brown desarrolla todo un tratado ficticio acerca del arte clásico y de sus relaciones con las sociedades secretas que, en un sentido claro, supera a su ocasionalmente redundante temple expositivo, y (en otras ocasiones) acaso titubeante en comparación, en la primera salida del profesor.

No obstante, así como aquélla es un fascinante y perfecto ejercicio narrativo, Angels & Demons se halla a la misma altura, si no en lo que atañe a combinar arte y religión e insertarlos diestramente en el flujo ficticio --que lo hace, pero no con la misma solvencia--, sí en arrastrar la atención del lector en su intriga, atrapándolo para no soltarlo hasta haberle revelado las preguntas y/o respuestas que le ha prometido tan hábilmente. Y los temas de ciencia versus fe terminan convirtiéndose en algo (formidable, conmovedor) que trasciende cualquier límite del libro. Personajes memorables, como la bella Vittoria Vetra, el director del CERN Maximilian Kohler, el camarlengo Carlo Ventresca, el comandante Olivetti, los periodistas de la BBC Gunther Glick y Chinita Macri, y el invencible y perverso asesino contratado por los Illuminati, así como el ambiente del Vaticano en plena elección papal, la geografía romana, los pasadizos recónditos y secretos, los peligros imposibles (de los que Langdon llega a salir inerme, sobrehumano cual James Bond), las intrigas y las traiciones, Bernini y el Sendero de la Iluminación..., son, entre otros, elementos que Brown --quien había publicado sólo un título previo, The Digital Fortress, en 1998-- maneja y despliega con la sabiduría del creador experimentado. Sin duda, una de las mejores muestras de la literatura popular, y otra de las pruebas de que el incandescente género de aventuras puede contener más cosas que las soñadas por los filósofos.

Angels and Demons is so far one of the best thriller book book I have ever read!
The combination of religion, science, secret brotherhoods and is what makes me a Brown fan.
This is so far the best book I've read for Dan Brown.

Ein super Auftakt der Robert Langdon Reihe, die ich nun gerne weiterhören möchte. Auch wenn ich den Film schon einige Male geschaut habe, war das Buch natürlich noch besser, da viel detaillierter. All die geschichtlichen Infos und vor allem auch zum Thema katholische Kirche und Papswahl fand ich unheimlich spannend und sehr interessant dargestellt! Auch wenn es hauptsächlich aus Langdons Sicht geschrieben ist, finde ich es spannend zwischendurch durch die Augen anderer Charaktere zu blicken und die Geschichte aus ihrer Sicht zu erleben.
Den Sprecher des Hörbuches fand ich übrigens auch sehr gut. Er konnte die Atmosphäre wunderbar herüberbringen! Man fühlte sich direkt nach Rom versetzt und folgte Robert Langdon durch alle Rätsel und Aufgaben.
Ich werde mir direkt den zweiten Teil vornehmen :)

Una gran intriga de principio a fin. El autor mezcla magistralmente el misterio y el suspenso con sus sólidos conocimientos de simbología religiosa, en una seguidilla de acontecimientos que quitan la respiración. Muy recomendable.

This book almost ruined my education.
Seriously, whilst I was supposed to be doing homework, I spent three hours reading this.
When I was supposed to be studying for a maths test, I read this.
During science, english, Religion, Drama and Humanities lessons...I read this.
It was that amazing.
For the past week, I have not been asleep before 1AM, because I have been reading this thriller.
And well after I turn of the light in the early hours of the morning, Angels And Demons clouds my thoughts.
One word to describe this book is unputdownable.
Because it really is.

I finished this book on the way home from school today.
And I was walking home.
What a sorry sight I must have been, school bag on back, in full uniform, walk 1.5 kilometers form school to home, and not even looking up from the pages once.
I finished with about 100 meters left to walk.

I loved The Da Vinci Code , but Angels & Demons was way better.
It was smart, thrilling, mysterious, adventurous, scary, intense,....and Unputdownable.
The only reason it did not receive full marks from me, is because the majority of the first 130 pages, at the CERN labs. All that science talk, particle theory and antimatter flew right over my head. Unfortunately, that made the book in-eligible for full marks.

And the Twists!.
Oh my, the twists and turns in this book blew me away. Just when you think you know where the story is headed, something happens and the whole plot is thrown into organized chaos.
As did the action scenes.
And the mystery.
And the writing style.
Yeah....pretty much everything was exceptional.

I espcially liked the realisim.
The real life locations, the Illuminati, CERN....All based upon fact.

Dan Brown, I tip my hat to you.
You have penned a fantastic read.

I bought this book for $1 and ended up liking it, so it was a win-win situation. This is the second book I have read by Dan Brown and from the Robert Langdon series, “The Da Vinci Code” being the first one (which I enjoyed more). The plot seemed original and also provided a feeling of suspense. I did see some similarities between the two novels, especially during the introduction. Nothing too extreme though. Some people heavily complain about the author’s writing style. I will admit that there were times that I felt he was being too repetitive. Overall, I thought it was understandable and suitable for a mystery book. I don’t mind short and direct sentences. I also really like the short chapters! It gives me a sense of accomplishment every few pages. While his writing style is questionable, you can't deny the fact that he is creative and imaginative.

The premise was my favorite! I was so captivated and could not stop reading, but that slowly started to change. After awhile, it felt too repetitive and I felt like the roles of certain characters and some of the historical information was unnecessary. This book made me think quite a bit. I had to do some research in order to know what was fact and what was fictional. For example: the history of Galileo and Bernini, popes, illuminati, specific dates, locations, and other scientific information. Some things I was able to distinguish between factual and fictional, but others I was just skeptical about and had to search online. While this may not be a pleasing thing to do, it did in fact help me learn more, so I don't see this as a waste of time. I think I want to check out either “Deception Point” or “Digital Fortress” before continuing with the Robert Langdon series.

joda nunca hago esas reviews. ¿Qué que me pareció el libro? es magnifico, Dan Brown te explica cosas como los illuminatis y la religión de una manera que no importa quien seas, lo vas a entender, lo deja claro y la acción de este libro es increíble, cada escena, cada momento y cada "OH POR DIOS" que tiene, literalmente estaba como "LANGDON CUCHAME NO SEAS BOLUDO TE VAN A MATAR" claro que no iban a matarlo si tiene como cinco libros mas, pero las escenas de acción ME DAN VIDA, DIOS QUE PERSONAS TAN INTELIGENTES SON ESTOS PERSONAJES, QUE BRONCA y una acá. En fin stan Dan Brown

تلك هي عبارة المفتاح لذلك اللغز
لغز كبير وحله عصيّ علي الجميع فماذا يحدث ؟؟

يبدو ذلك بأنه برومو لأحد أفلام الأكشن :D

الرواية رائعة جدااااا قد أستعمل عبارة مستهلكة من نوعية
إنه عالم دان براون
ولكنه عالمه فعلا ما في ذلك من شك
الوتيرة السريعة والقصة التي تحدث وتنتهي في أقل من يوم
الألغاز الصعبة والطريقة الذكية في الحل
وكمية المعلومات الرهيبة التي تحصل عليها

هي ليست برواية بقدر ما هي كتاب تخصص بها قدر هائل من المعلومات تدل بوضوح علي كم الجهد المبذول من دان براون في كتابتها

إنه يجعل كتبه تأكل لك الوقت بل تلتهمه التهاما
فلم أشعر بالوقت مع تلك الرواية خصوصا إذا كنت أقراها مع مذاكرة صيدلة المستشفيات
