I have truly relished the works of this author in the past. The NYC setting in this particular piece is something that I have a great affection for. It adds a certain charm and authenticity to the story.

However, the one aspect that disappoints me is the plot. It seems to just linger and drag on. Instead of progressing in a brisk and engaging manner, it moves forward by mere millimeters.

This slow pace makes it a bit of a struggle to stay fully invested in the story. I find myself constantly waiting for something more significant to happen, for the plot to thicken and take off.

Despite my love for the author and the NYC backdrop, the sluggish plot is definitely a drawback that detracts from the overall enjoyment of the reading experience.

The article seems to express a personal opinion about a story. It starts by saying that it's not finished and that it's not bad, but it didn't have enough of an impact to make the person want to continue. Then it apologizes and states that women's stories written by men are not their preferred type of reading.

To expand this, we could say:

The article begins with the admission that the story in question is not yet completed. The writer acknowledges that it's not a terrible piece, but for some reason, it simply didn't have that certain something that would compel them to keep reading. They offer an apology and go on to explain that their lack of interest might be due to the fact that they don't particularly enjoy women's stories written by men.

Perhaps the writer feels that male authors may not be able to fully capture the essence and experiences of women in their writing. It could also be that they have a personal preference for stories written by women, as they may feel that these authors can offer a more authentic and relatable perspective.

Whatever the reason, it's clear that the writer has a specific taste when it comes to reading, and this particular story didn't quite hit the mark for them.
