I loved it!

The more I delved into Plath's work, the deeper my appreciation grew for her remarkable sense of humour.

Her words have a unique charm that manages to blend the tragic and the comical in the most unexpected ways.

Each poem and story seems to hold a hidden gem of wit and satire, waiting to be discovered by the discerning reader.

Plath's ability to find humour in the darkest of situations is truly a testament to her creative genius.

It not only adds an element of surprise to her work but also makes it more relatable and engaging.

As I continue to explore her literary oeuvre, I am constantly amazed by her ability to make me laugh and cry in the same breath.

Her sense of humour is like a bright light shining through the darkness, offering a glimmer of hope and a moment of levity in an otherwise沉重的 world.

I can't wait to see what other humorous treasures I will uncover in her work.

When I discovered that Sylvia Plath was also penning fairy-tales, I was truly astonished.

I cherish the sensation when an author I believe I understand surprises me. (Here, I feel compelled to mention that I have only read Ariel, so any sense of understanding was questionable from the outset.) I embarked on this book with the anticipation of uncovering an entirely distinct aspect of Plath. And in a certain sense, it did... yet it also didn't.

Particularly from "The It-Doesn't-Matter Suit," I vividly felt Plath's spirit. The form wasn't the most outstanding (I'm not a huge enthusiast of repetitiveness), but throughout, it conveyed a sort of "otherness" and an attempt to come to terms with it. It seemed to me that Plath wrote this one for herself, as if she was endeavoring to convince herself that it's okay to be different. (Which, of course, also makes it a perfect children's story...) And although the entire tale is extremely positive, I was inundated with an unexpected sadness while reading it. This, of course, is merely my personal perspective.

"The Bed Book," on the other hand, was sheer fun and nothing serious. It isn't a poetic masterpiece, but... who cares... "Mrs Cherry's Kitchen" is the most classic tale among them all and the easiest to like – I definitely liked it a great deal.

The Czech edition is beautifully crafted – the cover resembles a duvet to some extent, and the illustrations are lovely. That tipped my rating towards the five stars.

I really, really loved "Kiraz Hanım'ın Mutfağı" in the book that consists of 3 stories she wrote for her own children.

Sylvia Plath, who wrote so much about self-annihilation in her works, told very naive stories for children contrary to those writings.

This book offers a different side of Plath. It shows that even a writer known for her complex and often dark themes can create something simple and charming for the youngest readers.

The stories in "Kiraz Hanım'ın Mutfağı" are likely to capture the imaginations of children and take them on wonderful adventures.

It's interesting to see how Plath was able to switch gears and create this special world within the pages of this book for her own kids.

Perhaps it was a way for her to express a different kind of love and creativity.

Overall, it's a fascinating read that gives us a new perspective on Sylvia Plath.

God knows how many beautiful things we've missed because of prejudice and fear.

Prejudice often blinds us to the true nature and value of things. It makes us judge others or situations based on preconceived notions, without taking the time to understand or experience them fully. As a result, we may pass by opportunities for friendship, love, or personal growth.

Fear, on the other hand, holds us back from exploring new territories and taking risks. It makes us hesitant to step out of our comfort zones and try new things. We may be afraid of failure, rejection, or the unknown. But in doing so, we also miss out on the excitement and fulfillment that comes from taking chances.

If only we could let go of our prejudice and fear, we would be able to see the world in a whole new light. We would be able to embrace the beauty and diversity that surrounds us, and discover the many wonderful things that life has to offer.

Let us strive to be more open-minded and courageous, and not let prejudice and fear stand in the way of our happiness and fulfillment.

I had already delved into The Bed Book and The It-Doesn't-Matter Suit. These two books had already captured my imagination and filled my heart with joy. However, there was one more of her children's stories that I had yet to explore, and that was Mrs. Cherry's Kitchen.

All three of her children's tales are truly delightful. They are like little treasures that transport you to a world of wonder and magic. The characters are vivid and engaging, and the stories are filled with valuable lessons and heartwarming moments.

I absolutely love them! Each time I pick up one of her books, I am instantly drawn into the story and can't put it down until I've reached the end. Her writing style is so charming and accessible that it makes reading a pure pleasure. I can't wait to discover what other wonderful stories she has in store for us.

Book can get a 4-star rating when considered for our little friends. But when we think of really young friends... The translation of the book I read, "Clothes That Don't Cause Trouble", was done by Bilge Nur Öğütücü and Zerrin Ertan Keskin. I think it's the first work of both translators. Later, this book was published by the Red Cat Publishing House with the translation of İlnur Özdemir. The book in my hand is the first edition, printed in April 2009, "Clothes That Don't Cause Trouble". The book contains three stories. The first is "The Bed Book", the second is "Clothes That Don't Cause Trouble", and the third is "Mrs. Sherry's Kitchen".

1. "The Bed Book": We can say it's more of an enjoyable poem than a story. I think they paid a lot of attention to the translation because of the rhyme. Especially when you read it aloud, it's a poem that can easily affect a child and哄 him to sleep. That's why I thought Sylvia wrote these stories for children during the period after her own birth to make putting them to sleep enjoyable. The comparisons she made for the trampoline bed, a pillow made of bread, the pocket bed, and other beds in the book also show the fabulous side of Sylvia's imagination to us. We can make this comment for the whole book.

2. "Clothes That Don't Cause Trouble": It's a very short children's story. There is no main idea or message. Moreover, it's very predictable. Still, you can make your little friend like the mustard-colored clothes by reading this story to him.

3. "Mrs. Sherry's Kitchen": I think this story had a main idea and was a bit more creative compared to the second story.

The illustrations in the book were complementary. We can say that it was both enjoyable and facilitative for us to bring them to life in our imagination with the help of both reading and the illustrations. The illustrator is David Roberts.

One poem and two stories, this collection is truly a delightful read from Plath.

It may seem unlikely, I am well aware, coming from such a dark poet. However, she has indeed created some truly outstanding works for children within these pages.

The poem is filled with vivid imagery and a rhythm that engages the reader from the very first line. It takes the young audience on a magical journey, sparking their imagination and making them feel a part of the story.

The two stories are equally captivating. They are filled with interesting characters and plotlines that keep the reader hooked until the very end. Each story has its own unique charm and message, teaching valuable lessons in a fun and engaging way.

Overall, this collection by Plath is a wonderful addition to any child's library. It shows a different side of the poet and proves that she had the ability to create works that are both entertaining and educational for children.
