However, it's just a little different than some of his other works. It has a more emotional depth and a slower pace, which allows the reader to really connect with the characters and their experiences.

Overall, it's a great read that I would highly recommend to any Stephen King fan or anyone who enjoys a good, heart-wrenching story.

One of the better coming of age books that I have read is truly beautiful. Stephen King really outdid himself with this one! I am super happy that I took the time to read it. Alright, alright, Mickey's a mouse, Donald's a duck, Pluto's a dog. What's Goofy? This is one of the many amazing examples of innocence in the young that are shown in the masterfully crafted short novel by Stephen King. 'Stand By Me' is truly a remarkable piece of work and might just be the best short story ever told.

There are numerous themes in a story like this one. It ranges from perseverance to the loss of innocence. However, my favorite theme is the love of friendship. Stephen King is like a genius when it comes to his use of symbolism, which is evident throughout the entire book. For example, at the end of the story, when the boys all go their separate ways, they are standing at an intersection. This symbolizes that the boys are at a crossroads in their lives, facing different paths and choices.

The characters are perhaps the best part of the book. Each of them plays their own unique role, which continuously builds and enriches the story. Ironically, the main character, Gordy, is known for being a great storyteller, and he also narrates this wonderful story. He is accompanied by his best friends, with the closest being a kid named Chris. Like the rest of them, Chris has a broken home, but he is kind of the pack leader and always has the last word.

The book takes place in America's past, in a small town with a population even smaller than that of an average high school. The boys all come together and embark on an adventure through the thick backwoods, following only the train tracks and their instincts.

If you can't already tell, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Above all, one must simply enjoy the story in itself. I would highly and constantly recommend this book to anyone who reads. And if they don't read, then they need to see the movie. That's my next plan.

A coming-of-age adventure for four 12-year-old children and the search for a corpse with an exaggerated, I would say, dose of nonsense, not necessarily annoying, but I think this particular book is not among King's best. He has surely written more ethical novels than this one. However, the journey with Gordie, Teddy, Chris, and Vern was definitely worth the effort.

The truth of life and death significantly affects the subsequent personalities of the four boys and shapes them in a different way for each one. From that moment on, they feel that they have suddenly and unexpectedly grown up.

Three and a half stars and my love for King, which never ceases to fascinate me! ♥️♥️♥️♥️

How did I not know that one of my top 3 favourite movies was adapted from a book?

It really came as a surprise to me. I have always been a big fan of this movie, loving every moment of it. But to discover that its source material was a book makes me feel a bit ashamed.

Here I am, claiming to be a movie enthusiast, yet I was completely oblivious to the fact that it was based on a written work.

It makes me realize that I might not be as well-versed in the world of literature as I thought.

I guess this is a wake-up call for me to start reading more books, especially those that have been adapted into movies.

Maybe then I won't feel like such a Fake Reader™ anymore.

Who knows, perhaps I'll discover even more amazing stories and gain a deeper appreciation for both the written and visual mediums.

From now on, I'm determined to bridge the gap between my love for movies and my neglect of books.

It's time to expand my literary horizons and see what other hidden gems are waiting for me to uncover.
