A saga that builds up gradually, the beginning bored me. In fact, it took years for them to convince me to start it again... Fortunately, I picked it up! A total protagonist, one of those you don't forget, and an external and internal journey that makes you get more and more hooked on the story with each new page. A reference work. Now I see many inspirations of other authors in this saga.

This saga is like a hidden treasure chest that I almost missed. At first, the slow start made me lose interest. But later, when I gave it another chance, I was completely captivated. The protagonist is so vivid and engaging that he stays in my mind long after I've finished reading. The story not only takes the reader on an exciting adventure in the external world but also delves deep into the protagonist's inner self, making it a truly immersive experience.

As I read through the pages, I couldn't help but notice the influence this saga has had on other authors. It's clear that it has set a high standard and served as a source of inspiration for many. It's no wonder that it's considered a classic in the literary world. I'm so glad I decided to give it a second chance and discover the magic within.

This final will surely be remembered as one of the most memorable moments in the history of the event.

The first half of this book is extremely interesting and its narration never wanes.

On the contrary, in the final chapters, a more boring atmosphere starts to be felt.

Personally, the ending leaves a lot to be desired to be the conclusion of such a great saga.

It seems that after the exciting build-up in the first part, the story loses some of its momentum towards the end.

The characters that were so engaging earlier on seem to lack the same depth and development in the later chapters.

The plot, which had been full of twists and turns, becomes a bit predictable and formulaic.

Overall, while the first half of the book is a great read, the second half fails to live up to the expectations set by the beginning.

It is a shame that such a promising start leads to a somewhat disappointing conclusion.

What a long journey it was to accompany Roland to the tower!! The story declines a bit until the last quarter of the book but it doesn't bore. After that, intense and dramatic moments are lived. The end I liked, it is appropriate and I expected something like that.

A very good book.

Regarding the series, I say: I loved it, and I say thank you.

Long days and pleasant nights.

Expanded version:

What an incredibly long journey it was to accompany Roland on his arduous path towards the tower!! The story, to be honest, seems to lose a bit of its momentum and excitement until we reach the last quarter of the book. However, it never truly bores the reader. In fact, it's as if it is biding its time, building up anticipation for what is to come. And come it does, with a vengeance! After that lull, we are plunged into a series of intense and highly dramatic moments that keep us on the edge of our seats. The end, for me, was a real delight. It was completely appropriate and in line with what I had been hoping for all along.

This is without a doubt a very good book. It has its flaws, but they are more than outweighed by its many strengths. The characters are well-developed, the world-building is rich and detailed, and the story itself is engaging and full of surprises.

Now, regarding the series, I have to say that I absolutely loved it. It has brought me countless hours of entertainment and has introduced me to a world that I will never forget. I am truly grateful to the author for creating such a wonderful and captivating series.

Here's to many more long days and pleasant nights spent lost in the pages of this amazing series!

I have completed the last, eighth book, and proudly, I can state that this is the longest series that I have ever read.

But considering the 34 years that King needed to finish it, I would say that he did his best. Each and every story was exciting and dynamic, and I read the books with ease and interest.

The series has taken me on a remarkable journey through different worlds and characters, and I have become deeply invested in their fates.

It's not just about the length of the series, but also the quality of the writing and the depth of the storytelling.

Stephen King has truly outdone himself with this work, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to experience it.

Overall, it has been a wonderful reading experience, and I will surely remember these books for a long time to come.

Here is how Roland Deschain, the Gunslinger, reached it.

How it all began: "The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed." Seven volumes later, the Gunslinger crosses the field of roses to meet his fate, his ka.

The story of his journey is a tale of love, death, friendships, and betrayals, a story of the predetermined and the choice.

As you follow Roland and his ka-tet, composed of a drug-addicted youth, a dark-skinned legless woman, a teenager, and a talking animal that resembles a dog, through the convolutions of the time-space cosmos of Stephen King, you will learn a lot about America - about its myths, pains, and ideals.

You will get to know images that are so alive, so unique and vividly outlined, as if they were (and are) a real part of your life.

The author will share with you what it means to be nineteen, how "true" Stephen King is, who "meets" his heroes in the novel, what the creator thinks about the question - the path or the goal.

On the way to the Dark Tower, you will uncover what moves the hand of the gunslinger.

The "Dark Tower" series is the most ambitious and epic work of Stephen King. Motifs and characters from it can be found in all of his works.

This is a very good book, and it is also a very good saga.

Although for me, the ending is not quite appropriate. However, it is still highly recommendable.

The story within the book is engaging and captivating, taking the reader on a thrilling adventure.

The characters are well-developed and come to life on the pages.

The author has done a great job of creating a vivid and immersive world.

Despite the slightly disappointing ending, the overall quality of the book and the saga is outstanding.

It offers readers an escape into a different realm and provides hours of entertainment.

Whether you are a fan of the genre or simply looking for a good read, this book and saga are definitely worth checking out.

You will not be disappointed.

I am facing one of the most complete, well-crafted and meaningful sagas for me. Really, I haven't felt this good after finishing a saga for years since I finished reading Harry Potter and later when I finished The Dark Materials (I already consider these three as my favorites). King has managed to make the journey more enjoyable than the end. It doesn't mean that the end is bad; it's not an end that anyone who has read The Dark Tower has wanted, but in his words, it's the end that had to be and for me, that's enough. I give the book 5 stars while I see that some have given it 3. My opinion is that we have to understand that when the journey is as long and fascinating as the journey to the tower was, sometimes we have to downplay the importance of the end.

It is one of the many books that I will recommend in my life, but this saga will always be in a class of its own.

In short, "the Ka is a wheel" and soon I see myself rereading it.

My end is too cruel.

But my book is liked.

I often wonder why fate treats me so harshly.

The story in my book seems to be a reflection of my own life, filled with hardships and challenges.

However, despite the cruel end that awaits me, I find solace in the fact that my book has touched the hearts of many.

It gives me a sense of purpose and makes me believe that even in the face of adversity, there is still beauty and meaning to be found.

Maybe one day, my story will inspire others to keep going, no matter how difficult life gets.

And that, in itself, is a kind of victory.

A brutal ending!!! I feel satisfied with how it ends. This book has made me excited a thousand times... except for one little part and that's the reason for my 4 stars and not 5.

The story had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The plot was engaging and full of twists and turns that kept me guessing. The characters were well-developed and I found myself really invested in their fates.

However, there was one particular scene that didn't quite sit right with me. It felt a bit forced and didn't flow as smoothly as the rest of the book. Despite this minor flaw, I still thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it to others.

The author did a great job of creating a vivid and immersive world that I didn't want to leave. The writing style was engaging and easy to follow, making it a quick and enjoyable read. Overall, I would rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.

The last approximately 300 pages of "The Dark Tower" brought me not only satisfaction and enjoyment but also an insatiable desire for more and more reading. Yes, I am aware of the criticisms regarding the tragicomic final manifestation of the Purple King's madness, who has turned into a zombie and casts a shadow over his once transcendent power, and bombards Roland as an intermediate boss in a Nintendo game from the eighties. I am inclined to understand those who are dissatisfied with the end of this epic journey, in which we closely followed the Gunslinger and his already disintegrating ka-tet through worlds, fears, and countless intermediaries in nearly 4000 pages.

But in these last pages, I discovered the ingredients that were lacking in some of the previous books - the main theme is the journey, the exploration of unknown, decaying, and dangerous places where unexpected allies and determined enemies lurk. The novel was permeated with surrealism and storytelling, but it adhered to a simple and purposeful plot, instead of following numerous digressions, excessive viewpoints, and overly abstractions.

Both familiar and unimagined new monsters now appear. The prose is smooth and elegant, without being drowned in excessive verbosity. The translation by Adrian Lazarski is excellent, but its full genius is revealed and shines most brightly in the Bulgarian interpretation of Robert Browning's inspiring poem from the middle of the 19th century, "Child Roland to the Dark Tower Came".

In conclusion, I will say that neither the contradictory reviews, nor the huge number of pages, nor the delayed narrative and momentary uncertainties prevented me from enjoying the megalomaniacal book fiesta called "The Dark Tower". I was seeking a crazy and psychedelic multi-genre adventure, expecting bold improvisations and daring authorial solutions, hoping for a captivating and masterful prose, and wanting to get to know vivid heroes. I got everything from above. My greatest surprise was the constant return to small details that often appeared several volumes and hundreds of pages earlier in the narrative, which indicated to me that despite the terrifying disintegration of the Middle World, the coachman King had not completely lost his way and had a clear idea of where he was and what had happened. It deserved it!

But let's conclude appropriately with a short example of the inspiring Browning/Lazarski combination:

And so, I went, silent, hopeless

beside the deformed wretch with a cunning gaze

along an unknown path that led

to the Tower. Let it be right!

I was sure that his fierce gaze

was fixed on me instead of a sign of forgiveness.

All day I walked along this endless path,

all day I wandered, tormented and desperate,

and beside me the boundless plain

stretched as far as the eye could see,

sad, desolate, hopeless -

like a withered leaf from an ancient book.
