Stephen King and George Romero's work is truly an ode to the old horror comics of the 1960's such as Creepy and Eerie!.

These adaptations are based on the stories from the movie rather than the original Stephen King short stories. Bernie Wrightson was an excellent and perfect choice to illustrate these. His illustrations bring the horror and mystery to life in a vivid way.

If you have a penchant for such horror-themed works, you should do yourself a favor and watch the movie. It offers a unique and thrilling experience that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Since 1982, I've been chanting "I want my cake! I want my cake!" at every birthday party I've had. It's a fun and lighthearted addition to the celebrations.

Here's a fun fact for you: Stephen King himself plays the character Jordy in the movie. His appearance adds an extra layer of interest and authenticity to the film.

This is a truly goofy comic that is filled to the brim with numerous horror elements. It's a must-read for any comic book enthusiast or horror-loving geek out there. As for me, since I happen to be one of those passionate individuals, I decided to give it three stars.

Interestingly, the cover of this comic used to have a profound impact on me when I was a little girl. Every time I walked through the Stephen King section of the library, that cover would send shivers down my spine. It was truly terrifying.

However, as time has passed, my perception of that cover has changed. Now, it's not so much scary as it is amusing. But still, it holds a certain sense of nostalgia for me. It reminds me of those childhood days when I was both scared and intrigued by the world of horror.

Overall, this comic is a unique blend of goofiness and horror, and it's definitely worth checking out for anyone with a taste for the macabre.

Well that was disturbing.

This graphic novel consists of a collection of 5 short stories, and I truly relished each and every one of them. I believe the first story, titled Father's Day, was my absolute favorite. It had a certain charm and depth that really appealed to me. However, the last story, They’re Creeping Up On You, was hands down one of the most disturbing tales I've ever had the misfortune of reading. It sent shivers down my spine and made my skin crawl. No wonder I have such a deep-seated hatred for bugs. Those nasty little suckers are enough to give anyone nightmares.

The vivid illustrations in the graphic novel added an extra layer of intensity to the stories. They brought the characters and the settings to life in a way that words alone could never achieve. Overall, I would highly recommend this graphic novel to anyone who enjoys a good mix of entertainment and horror.

I truly enjoyed the stories. And why wouldn't I? Duh - it's Stephen King! His works have always had a special charm for me.

My absolute favorites were "Father's Day" and "The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill". These two tales had a certain something that really grabbed my attention.

The other stories were kind of more horror-oriented, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. However, for some reason, I found myself preferring the two mentioned above. To me, they were the epitome of a classic creepy King story. They had that unique blend of mystery, suspense, and just a touch of the supernatural that makes King's writing so captivating.

Maybe it was the way he crafted the characters or the settings that made these stories stand out. Or perhaps it was the unexpected twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. Whatever the reason, I know that these two stories will stay with me for a long time to come.

I used to have a great passion for the TV show. It was truly captivating and held my attention for hours on end.

Not only did I love the TV show, but I also had a special affection for Catseye. Catseye was such an interesting and unique character.

Her presence added an extra layer of excitement and charm to the overall story.

The way she interacted with the other characters and the various adventures she embarked on made the show even more engaging.

I would eagerly await each new episode, eager to see what would happen next to Catseye and the rest of the cast.

Those were the good old days when I could lose myself in the world of the TV show and Catseye.

Even now, when I think back on it, I can't help but smile and remember the joy it brought me.

A book I’ve wanted to read for years has finally come into my hands.

I managed to get hold of a copy, and I simply couldn't put it down. I devoured it in half an hour, completely engrossed.

Each story within the book hits the mark precisely. It takes you on a journey through dark, twisted, and deranged tales that keep you on the edge of your seat. The illustrations are the perfect style to complement these macabre stories. They bring the words to life in a way that enhances the overall experience.

I absolutely loved this book! It was a thrilling read from start to finish.

Also, as a side note, I'm really enjoying King's work being adapted into graphic novels. I read "Sleeping Beauties" last year, and it was a great experience. Now, I'm wondering if I can find a "Dark Tower" series of graphic novels. If such a thing exists, I'm definitely going to look for it and add it to my collection.

I can't wait to see what other adaptations of King's work are out there and continue to explore the wonderful world of his stories in a new and exciting format.

Not my cup of tea.

I do like horror, but it has to be well constructed. And for the first time when it comes to an author of the caliber of Stephen King, it didn't move me at all.

I don't agree with the stories, it's true (even though I liked "Sometimes They Come Back"). So I'm already at a disadvantage. But "Creepshow" seemed to me like a sketch without a beginning or an end. It's not splatter, not horror, not weird. In short, it's "not" anything.

The drawings of the characters from one story to another are identical. There's no pathos or anxiety, and I didn't feel the slightest excitement.

The stories left a big "BOH" written in my head. The only part that interested me was the descriptions of the skeleton presenter. The rest... just plain calm.

At the end of the reading, it didn't leave me anything, and I'm sorry about that.

This is a truly remarkable graphic novel that offers a very quick read, accompanied by fantastic artwork.

To be honest, I have watched the movie based on this story quite a few times, and it has always been one of my favorites. Among all the stories, The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill holds a special place in my heart as it is a classic.

Even though the movie has its own charm, this graphic novel does a great job of bringing the story to life in a different way. The illustrations are detailed and vivid, enhancing the overall reading experience.

It manages to capture the essence of the story and the emotions of the characters, making it a solid addition to any graphic novel collection. Whether you are a fan of the movie or just looking for a good read, this graphic novel is definitely worth checking out.

The illustrations in this collection were truly remarkable. They added a vivid and engaging dimension to the stories. The stories themselves were highly creative, revolving around the themes of karma and revenge.

It was almost as if these stories were taken directly from the old 80's Creepshow movies that I recall watching with great enthusiasm as a child. There was a certain sense of nostalgia that washed over me while reading them.

However, it was the last story that really stood out for me. I have an intense aversion to bugs, and this story played on that fear in the most effective way. It sent shivers down my spine and left a lasting impression. Overall, this was a great read that combined excellent illustrations with captivating and thought-provoking stories.

I saw this movie a while ago, and from what I can recall, this comic is very much like the movie. I'm not sure which one came first, but I think it was the movie. I do remember seeing the "Creepshow" show they made on HBO later and thinking it was extremely scary.

Stephen has talked about his love for reading these kinds of things when he was a child, these comic horror type stories. This one is his own creation. It's a bit cheesy and there is some gore involved. It's full-on gross, but it's more about the emotions than just the graphic elements.

I had seen this and knew it existed, but I hadn't come across it anywhere. I finally found it at my library through the ILL service and was able to read it after all these years. One more Stephen King work completed. He should really do a new, updated version of this.

The crypt keeper is by far the scariest thing about this. That puppet always gave me the creeps when I was a kid. It has such an eerie and disturbing presence that still lingers in my mind.

I firmly believe that I must have informed everyone in May (and now I am repeating it once more) that I was over the moon to discover this classic anthology of campy horror stories being re-released.

Instantly, I pre-ordered my copy and rushed to the door like an excited child on Christmas morning when it finally arrived.

Within just a few minutes, I was comfortably molded into the couch, armed with a glass of wine, a bowl of popcorn, and my brand new shiny edition.

The outcome was a blissful Saturday evening, in the BVT style.

As a lover of all things related to King and horror (after all, they do overlap), Creepshow truly delivers.

This small graphic depiction of the original screenplay packs a powerful punch of campy nostalgia in a truly unique way that should not be mistaken for your typical GN.

Although the 5 original tales are slightly condensed and hosted by a ghoulish narrator, there is no shortage of enjoyment to be found.

My favorite remains The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill.

Fans of the film and horror alike will find sufficient value within this to make it an absolute must-have.

My thoughts and reviews can also be found on Books, Vertigo and Tea.

When I was a kid, horror comics were always my first choice. There was something about the spooky stories and creepy illustrations that just fascinated me. I loved the way they could send shivers down my spine and make my heart race. Whether it was a tale of a haunted house or a bloodthirsty monster, I couldn't get enough of them.

Looking back, I realize that those horror comics played an important role in shaping my imagination. They introduced me to a world of the unknown and the supernatural, and taught me to embrace my fears. They also sparked my love for reading and storytelling, which has stayed with me to this day.

So, hells, yes! Horror comics will always hold a special place in my heart. They are a part of my childhood memories and a reminder of the power of the imagination.
