For some reason, I am such a sucker for terrible self-help books that involved sex, gender, or relationships, and when I heard about How to Make Anyone Fall in Love with You I once again could not resist reading it, going into it knowing full well it was going to turn into a hate read—and indeed it did. From the start, when author Leil Lowndes praises John Gray for his work in gender relationships, I knew the book was going to be a load of crap. Manipulative, stereotypical, archaic, generalizing, all of those classic traits that all self-help books have, but this was one particularly pathetic given the subject matter of seeming desperation to make literally anyone fall in love with you, even if it means blatantly lying to them or changing your entire personality and set of boundaries to get with them. Great idea, Leil. Great inspiration. Great manipulation.

Job? living? questions answer enthusiastically and describe some detail. spin it to their love map. exciting first date . nice restaurant, same interests, values , ideal relationships ideas, love them unconditionally , their selfimage on their tombstone. compliment there equity but be similar too,, Equity principle: looks, money, status, info, personality,inner nature,

Some tricks are works, but many tricks here are not suitable in my country. I like how the way we appreciates our couple. Well at least, this book have explained that we can do many things to make our couple/wife/husband loves us.

If you are looking for a relationship book that gives you the traditional, "find someone who appreciates you for you," or "you'll meet the right person, just be yourself," advice, look some place else. This is the worldly, dog-eat-dog, guide to relationships. There are no mentions of inner beauty in this book. An appropriate title might have been, "The Wall Street Guide to Relationships." So, I thought it was good, concrete advice if you are looking to hook up with lots of attractive people through manipulation, but I think that the title's goal of making people, "fall in LOVE" is a bit off.

So I bought this book at the old age of 22 after a heart wrenching no one will ever love me again break-up. (I thought I was getting way to old and had to take desperate measures!) I didn't read the whole book and I am not sure even how far I got, but it was a bunch of crap from what I remember. (With a title like that though, what kind of success rate could we really get, ANYONE!! I doubt it) From what I remember it told you to lie. To pretend to be totally into the things that the other is interested in and stuff like that. So maybe you could make ANYONE fall for you, but it wouldn't be the real you. But if you want to borrow the book you sure can!

This is funny as hell!
Humurous reading aside, it has some good prespective on social dynamics wich is what's really what got me into reading this.
But it can either turn you into a manipulative beast, or really give you a good third person prespective on what you're doing and perhaps really lead you when the time comes.

As for the manipulative part. No one will become that because of a book. You either already were, or came to be out of your own will. Each takes what each wants from the resources each finds.

En bok som det finns en hel del bra saker i. Den är skriven utifrån (det allt så vanliga för den här typen av böcker) - "jag är terapeut/forskare/psykolog och delar med mig av min kunskap efter all min kontakt med klienter genom åren". Leil tar också många exempel från sina egna erfarenheter. Det största problemet med boken (och anledningen till det låga betyget) är att hon med en självklarhet säger saker som forskningen senare visat att är precis tvärtemot det hon påstår i boken. Den är ju skriven 1997 och det var ju några år sedan. Ett exempel är när hon helt avfärdar att förälskelse och kärlek har något överhuvudtaget med biologi att göra medans det är precis där som de senaste rönen säger att det verkligen är. Men med det sagt så finns det många bra saker i boken också så kan man ta det hon påstår och är så övertygad om med en nypa salt finns det många bra saker i boken.

This book is apparently ranked at the very top of the book recommendation list in a popular Chinese podcast app that I use. Don't be fooled by the title, it's not about PUA, but rather the opposite.

A healthy relationship emphasizes 1) similarities (passions, values, concepts of love), 2) equity (appearance, possessions, prestige, knowledge, personality, inner nature), and 3) respect. The most important quality is to simply be genuine, hypocritical affections will not survive long.

I guess I shouldn't have expected more, but it was not good. Not good.

This author is genius! Nearly everything she talks about in this self-help book she nails right on the head. I agreed with about 90 percent of her advice... mostly because we have the same views on relationships. She gives some great tips that I will be using in the future. I had to smile to myself when reading certain parts of this book because she was so dead on. I guess I would have to say that the sex part of the book was the only thing I was iffy on. Other than that, I would definitely read another book from this author.
