In the Spanish edition of this book, the title is "If you need me, call me".

From the softness and serenity that emerges from this phrase, the stories that make up the tales burst forth.

These stories are about the love that comprehends the kindnesses of the distance.

Each story seems to unfold like a gentle breeze, carrying with it the emotions and experiences of the characters.

It is as if the author is inviting the reader to step into a world where love transcends boundaries and where the simplest of phrases can hold the power to heal and connect.

The book takes the reader on a journey through different landscapes and relationships, showing how love can blossom even in the most unexpected of places.

Overall, it is a beautiful collection of stories that will touch the hearts of those who read it.

Una manciata di racconti inediti che nulla aggiungono e nulla tolgono alla grandezza dello scrittore. The collection presents a handful of unpublished stories that neither enhance nor detract from the writer's greatness.

The writing style is dry, yet it is accompanied by an acute sensibility and a strong sense of humanity that shines through the lines, just as it always does.

This book is a must-read for the devotees of the writer (like me) for the sake of completeness.

There are fewer vandals, and yet the rest of the stories are just as stupidly sad but also exciting (especially the first and the last), and that's even though I'm not a divorced person.

It's interesting how these tales can evoke such a range of emotions. The sadness in them is almost palpable, as if you can feel the pain and heartbreak of the characters. But at the same time, there's an underlying excitement that keeps you engaged and wanting to know more.

Perhaps it's the contrast between the sadness and the excitement that makes these stories so compelling. Or maybe it's the fact that they deal with universal themes that everyone can relate to, regardless of their marital status. Either way, they have a certain charm that draws you in and makes you want to keep reading.

Carver is the writer of my year.

And I'm not entirely certain that this is something good.

On one hand, being associated with a particular writer for an entire year can bring a sense of focus and exploration. It allows me to deeply engage with their works, understand their style, and perhaps gain some inspiration for my own writing. However, on the other hand, there is a risk of becoming too fixated or influenced. I might start to unconsciously imitate Carver's style, losing my own unique voice.

Additionally, what if I don't actually like Carver's works as much as I thought I would? Spending a whole year studying and analyzing them could potentially become a chore.

Despite these concerns, I'm still willing to give it a try and see where this journey takes me. Maybe by the end of the year, I'll have a newfound appreciation for Carver and a better understanding of my own writing.

As Tess Gallagher, Carver's ex-wife and the editor of this book, very well said, as a reader, one always wants to read the entire works of the authors one likes. However, certain experiences with posthumous books (for example, Juan Rulfo and "El gallo de oro") have made me hesitant when reading one. I believe I have not been wrong in my judgment this time.

The truth is that these stories lack an obvious care that was present in Carver's works published during his lifetime. Perhaps the stories lack consistency. It seems that in these posthumous works, there are some elements that are not as refined and polished as those in his earlier, more well-known works. The narrative flow might seem a bit disjointed in places, and the characters might not be as fully developed. This makes the reading experience not as satisfying as one would expect from a Carver collection.

Nevertheless, it is important to note that these are still Carver's works, and they do carry some of his unique writing style and insights. But compared to his previous masterpieces, there is definitely room for improvement.

I didn't like many of the stories in this book. Especially those at the beginning of the book. I had already read some of them in the book "When We Talk About Love". After the stories of Karoor, I must read a more lively and exciting book. Because the space of its stories tires a person.

This book seems to lack the charm and excitement that I expected. The stories at the beginning are rather平淡 and fail to capture my attention immediately. Although I had come across some of them before in another book, it didn't make them any more interesting this time.

The part about Karoor's stories is also a bit disappointing. It feels like they are taking up too much space and making the whole book seem a bit dull. I think I need to find a book that can bring more energy and excitement to my reading experience. Maybe a mystery novel or a thrilling adventure story would be a better choice for me at this time.

What can be said about "if you need me, call me"? I think its title perfectly reflects the stories it includes. "If you need me, call me"… It is an initiative to solve a problem, a drama, a conflict situation to resolve or overcome. Well, its stories are just that.

I really liked it. It reads smoothly and has unexpected situations. At that time when they recommended it to me, they told me that I would want more, but that wasn't the case. Only one gave me that feeling, but the rest have a very appropriate ending.

This collection of stories offers a diverse range of experiences and emotions. Each story presents a unique challenge or situation that the characters must face. The author's writing style is engaging and keeps the reader hooked from beginning to end.

Overall, "If you need me, call me" is a great read for those who enjoy short stories with a touch of mystery and drama. It offers a refreshing take on the genre and is sure to leave a lasting impression on the reader.

It is truly touching to see how Carver held Leonard Gardner in such high regard during his time in the community college creative writing class. Gardner, with his flat top and boxes filled with unpublished novels that he carried around, made a significant impact on Carver. Gardner's gesture of giving Carver the key to his office was a remarkable act of trust. On Sundays, when Carver would use the office to write, he would look out of the window and witness Gardner arriving with his wife. He would then watch as they entered the church across the street. These moments added a layer of depth and meaning to Carver's writing experience. It not only gave him a quiet and dedicated space to pursue his passion but also allowed him to observe a slice of Gardner's life. The connection between Carver and Gardner, forged through their shared love of writing and these simple yet profound interactions, is a testament to the power of mentorship and the influence that one person can have on another.

Relatos para divorciados, mi literatura favorita

Divorce is a complex and often painful experience, and literature has the power to offer solace, understanding, and a sense of connection to those who have gone through it. My favorite literature for the divorced are those relatos that capture the essence of this journey with authenticity and compassion.

These relatos explore the various emotions that come with divorce, such as grief, anger, confusion, and ultimately, hope. They show the process of self-discovery and growth that many divorced individuals embark on as they learn to redefine themselves and their lives without their former partners.

One of the things I love about these relatos is that they don't sugarcoat the reality of divorce. They present the challenges and difficulties that divorced people face, but also offer a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. They remind us that even in the midst of pain and loss, there is always the possibility of a new beginning and a brighter future.

Whether it's through the stories of fictional characters or the real-life experiences of others, these relatos for the divorced have the ability to touch our hearts and souls and help us heal. They are a testament to the power of literature to bring people together and offer comfort in times of need.

I really like some of the career stories. However, in my opinion, all of these are just a reflection of the reality in the mirror,... but I don't think the story is just like this.

These career stories often present only the bright side or the successful part,忽略了 the difficulties and challenges that people actually face. In fact, every career path is full of thorns and obstacles. People have to endure hardships, make sacrifices, and constantly learn and grow to achieve success.

Therefore, when we read these career stories, we should not only be inspired by the achievements of others, but also understand the efforts and perseverance behind them. At the same time, we should also have a rational and objective attitude, and not blindly pursue the so-called "successful model", but find a path that suits us according to our own interests, abilities and values.
