This is my least favorite book by Kingsbury.

However, it isn't entirely her fault. I simply didn't have a deep affection for the themes within the plot.

It was indeed a good story of redemption. Nevertheless, I felt that it concluded too effortlessly, especially regarding the murder. Just because one of the characters was in love with another person, who happened to be their high school crush.

Sighs. I really didn't like it. But otherwise, it was rather good, perhaps better suited for those aged 17/19 and up. I'm only awarding 2 and 1/2 stars.

It's not a favorite of mine, but I guess it was all right.

Overall, while the book had its redeeming qualities, the aspects that didn't appeal to me outweighed the positives for my personal taste.

Maybe others will have a different perspective and find more to enjoy in this particular work by Kingsbury.

But for now, it remains at the bottom of my list of her books.

A great 4-star book!!

I have just finished reading the Baxters series, and I must say that I am completely addicted to this wonderful collection of stories. In this particular installment, Kari is portrayed as a woman who is seemingly happy in her marriage. However, unbeknownst to her, her husband Tim is having an affair. Tim, on the other hand, is lost and believes that he is in love with the girl he is having the affair with. In a moment of selfishness, he tells Kari that he wants a divorce, convinced that this will bring him true happiness. But as time passes, the guilt begins to eat away at him.

Kari, on the other hand, firmly believes that her marriage can be saved. She is willing to fight for her relationship and do whatever it takes to make it work. But the question remains: is the marriage already beyond repair? Will Tim finally open his eyes and see the pain he is causing Kari? Can he be redeemed and find his way back to her?

This story is a beautiful example of God's amazing grace and the love He has for marriage. It shows how God is willing to forgive even the most heinous of sins. If you are feeling like you are unforgivable, I highly recommend reading this book and witnessing God's work in action. I can't wait to see what is in store for the Baxter family in the next installment of this series.

The First book of an entire three set series called the Redemption series, the Forgiven series, and the Sunrise series.

All these series follow the life of the Baxter family. There are 6 children, multiple grandchildren, a husband and a wife, and the story of their lives and their children.

This book, in particular, begins with the struggles of one of the eldest daughters, Kari, and her cheating husband. Through this, we get a sense of the entire family and how much they love one another through the love of Christ.

The focus is on redemption and how we must trust in God to provide us with our lives and pathways. Once you redeem your love for Christ, everything changes and your life has purpose.

It's hard not to follow the entire series after reading just this book because you'll want to know what happens to each of the Baxter children as time passes on. The series offers a deep exploration of family relationships, faith, and the power of redemption. It shows how the love of Christ can bring a family together and help them through the toughest of times.

Each character in the Baxter family is unique and has their own story to tell. From the eldest daughter Kari to the youngest grandchild, they all face challenges and learn valuable lessons along the way. The series is a must-read for anyone who loves a good family drama with a strong faith-based message.

A wonderful story!

Once upon a time, there was a small village tucked away in a beautiful valley. In this village lived a kind-hearted little girl named Lily. One day, while exploring the forest near the village, Lily discovered a strange and beautiful flower. She had never seen anything like it before.

As she bent down to smell the flower, a magical breeze blew through the forest. Suddenly, the flower began to glow with a soft light, and to Lily's surprise, it spoke to her! The flower told her that it was a special flower with the power to grant wishes.

Lily was overjoyed. She thought hard about what she wanted to wish for. After much consideration, she wished for the happiness and well-being of everyone in her village. The flower smiled and said that her wish would come true.

Sure enough, when Lily returned to the village, she found that everyone was happier and healthier than ever before. The village thrived, and the people lived in peace and harmony. And Lily knew that it was all because of the wonderful story that had begun with the discovery of the magical flower in the forest.

From that day on, Lily always remembered the power of kindness and the importance of making wishes for the good of others. And her wonderful story continued to be passed down through the generations, inspiring others to be kind and to believe in the magic of possibility.

Lots to think about!

I will say that a significant number of the events that were detailed in this book were truly distinct from what was narrated in the prequel - The Baxters.

I'm not certain if the author became muddled or if there's some other explanation.

Nevertheless, I will most definitely carry on with the series.

I have a penchant for these flawed and messed up characters.

Their complex personalities and the intricate web of relationships they are involved in make for a captivating read.

Even though there are some discrepancies between this book and the prequel, it doesn't deter me from wanting to know more about their stories.

I'm eager to see how the author will further develop these characters and resolve the various plotlines that have been introduced.

Overall, despite the differences, this book has piqued my interest and left me looking forward to the next installment in the series.

OK, so I guess the reason I picked up this book was because I related to it and my sister recommended it to me. I'm really glad I started reading it. However, there are a whopping 31 books in this series for goodness sake! Anyways, in my opinion, one should never stay with a cheater. I know God can help people, but I just don't think I could. I really liked how the story turned out though. The whole Ryan situation was quite a lot to take in, and I definitely did not expect Tim to die at all. Yes, I did cry. And I feel so bad for Kari. The Baxters are really going through a lot. I'm hopefully going to finish this series, but there are so many of them that I don't really know. Thanks for reading!! I hope you have a SPLENDID day!!

I found this book to be truly refreshing and extremely easy to follow. This is a quality that I highly value in books.

Throughout the story, you will gain insights into the Baxter family and those closely related to them. However, the main focus is on Kari Baxter and the difficulties she faces with her husband Tim.

Personally, I really appreciate how prayer and scripture were incorporated into this book. The characters seemed believable, and I enjoyed getting to know the little details about who they were. I will definitely pick up the next few books in this series to learn more about the Baxter family's journey with the Lord in life, through joys, struggles, and heartaches - all of which most people experience in their daily lives.

It's wonderful to have a book that one can relate to and that addresses the more challenging questions and topics that are not commonly mentioned in Christian fictional stories.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book if you are seeking a great Christian series that will keep you engaged for a while. I give this book 4 stars.

Honestly, this book didn't seem enjoyable from the very beginning.

However, as the story progressed and I crossed the halfway mark, I gradually began to take pleasure in it.

I really had a hard time believing that Kari had such unwavering faith in God and His plans for her when she discovered that Tim had been cheating on her. But as the story further developed and Kari's character became more distinct, you could better understand just how strong her faith truly was.

The ending brought tears to my eyes. I was absolutely devastated that Tim died in the end after all they had been through together.

All in all, the book was just okay. It was very predictable for the most part. The only thing that caught me off guard was Tim's death.

Overall, it was an average read with a few unexpected twists and turns.

This is not my first encounter with REDEMPTION from the Karen Kingsbury Redemption series.

When the first three books of the series were initially released, I had read them. However, I then lost my rhythm. I continued to acquire all the books in the set and those of the subsequent series. But I always felt the need to return to the beginning and reread before delving into the other series that are related to this one.

So, amidst my other planned readings, I have decided to catch up on the multiple series published by Kingsbury. All that being said, my reviews will likely be brief and to the point.

The Redemption series centers around the Baxter family. They appear to be a sincere and closely-knit family, yet there are numerous cracks beneath the surface. REDEMPTION chronicles the story of Kari Baxter Jacobs. When she discovers that her husband, a respected professor, is having an affair with one of his students, her life falls apart.

Determined to do everything in her power to salvage her marriage, she refuses to give up on her husband. But when her former high-school sweetheart resurfaces and wishes to resume where they left off, Kari is torn between forgiveness and anger, temptation and commitment. What follows is a tumultuous ride of emotions and a terrible tragedy. Kari's strength in all aspects will be put to the test.

It took me a short while to get back into this book. I believe it's because Christian fiction has advanced significantly since this series was first introduced in 2002. Approximately a third of the way through, the pace picked up, and I recalled why I liked Karen's writing. I appreciate stories that are realistic and not formulaic, and the difficulties that afflict the Baxter family make them relatable. I am currently halfway through REMEMBER, the second book in the series, and I will post more once I have finished.
