Not as hokey a Christian book as I initially thought it would be. In fact, it has an interesting mix of characters. There's the one black kid, the one disabled kid, and the one Asian kid, in addition to the white kids. This is the first book in the series and it truly is quite exciting. Elijah and his friends are on a quest to find a costume for their school play. As they search, they stumble across an old suit of armour. Little do they know, there's someone out there who doesn't want them to have this armour. This mysterious person is willing to go to extreme lengths, even if it means killing them, to keep them away from the armour. The story unfolds with a sense of adventure and danger, keeping the reader on the edge of their seat.
A truly remarkable Christian-based book!

It has such a powerful hold that I simply found it extremely difficult to set it aside.
In fact, I have firmly decided to embark on the journey of reading the entire series of this book.
