Helen wrote the book when she was 22 years old and in college.

She said it was ordinary, but what does that really mean?

However, when you read the book and learn about her story, losing her hearing and sight before she was two years old.

She had no auditory memory to help her speak and no visual memory to understand things.

Her only weapons were perseverance, patience, and a keen sense of touch and smell.

She learned the language through sign language, holding someone's hand and making signs to understand.

She knew 4 languages, not just literary and historical knowledge, and surprisingly, she could speak even though she had never heard a word.

It's impossible. It's really impossible.

I, who have been blessed by God with sight and hearing, do not make use of them or give thanks to God for them.

Thanks be to God for His blessings upon us.

I quoted from Helen's exams.

"When you face an exam, you spend the days before the exam filling your mind with as many facts and histories as possible, to the extent that you and your books are in a firm position under the surface of the sea."

The book and its author cannot be described by any words in all the dictionaries of the world.

It is no surprise that I loved this book.

As a person with vision impairment myself, I was required to read Helen's story when I felt defeated by my deteriorating sight.

At that time, I was in a very low spirit and felt that my future was bleak.

However, reading about Helen's struggles and achievements gave me a new perspective.

Now as a young adult, I can truly relate to and understand Helen's life.

I admire her not because of her disability, but because of her unwavering determination and perseverance.

She proved that anyone can achieve what they want if they are willing to work hard and never give up.

Helen's story has inspired me to face my own challenges with courage and optimism.

I believe that as long as I keep trying, I can also overcome the difficulties in my life and achieve my goals.

I find Helen Keller truly fascinating, which is why I picked up this old copy of The Story of My Life in my attic. I believe I had to read it in junior high. If you have an interest in Helen Keller, this is indeed a great book to read in order to learn more about her life.

The first half of the book focuses on Helen as a little girl. Blind and deaf from the age of one, Helen not only had to learn words but also had to understand that words had meaning. Her teacher, Anne Sullivan, had to find a way to penetrate the darkness of Helen's mind. If you are not familiar with Helen's moment of enlightenment at the water pump, you should definitely read this book or watch the movie. That particular moment is what intrigues me the most. Can you envision suddenly realizing that words, thoughts, and essentially life itself have meaning? It's truly unbelievable.

I am extremely inspired by Helen's determination and intelligence in learning how to read, speak, and ultimately graduate from college. However, the second half of this book is not as captivating to me. Helen devotes a chapter to describing her favorite books, her favorite people, and her favorite aspects of nature. But of course, the fact that Helen can write a book at all is astonishing and is what makes it so special.

Helen Keller is an extraordinary young woman whose life story is truly memorable and inspiring. At just 19 months old, she became deaf and blind, facing seemingly insurmountable challenges. However, with her unwavering determination and the help of her remarkable teacher, Miss Anne Sullivan, she was able to learn to speak, read, and lead a physically active life.

At the age of seven, 20-year-old Miss Anne Sullivan, who was partially blind herself, became Helen's guiding light. She patiently taught Helen, helping her overcome her disabilities and discover the beauty and wonder of the world around her.

This short memoir, first published in 1923 when Helen was 23 years old, offers a glimpse into her remarkable journey. With excellent support, a positive attitude towards learning, and a diligent work ethic, Helen was able to achieve great things.

Helen Keller went on to write 14 books and dedicated her life to helping others. From 1924 to 1968, she worked for the Blind and campaigned tirelessly for the rights and dignity of those with disabilities. Her story is a testament to the power of the human spirit and serves as an inspiration to us all. Highly recommended.

I truly relished this autobiography penned by Helen Keller.

At times, the pace might seem a bit sluggish, yet the information presented is vivid and teeming with life.

I have perused numerous reviews that critically comment on the overly flowery language employed by Helen in this book. My response to such criticism is simple: why would one anticipate anything else?

If one has endured for so long without the ability to communicate, wouldn't they eagerly seize the opportunity to make full use of the extensive vocabulary at their disposal?

I had the distinct impression that Helen was elucidating things precisely as she visualized them in her mind. It was a world that was beautiful, ethereal, colorful, and pulsating with life.

I chose not to read her letters at the conclusion or the forward and end notes, as it was solely Helen's account of her experiences that I desired to immerse myself in (thus the reason for the "skimmed" shelf marker).

This autobiography is not only extremely fascinating but also serves as a remarkable and triumphant exemplar of the indomitable human spirit.

The most beautiful thing about Helen is that she didn't give us any chance to feel "pity" for her. On the contrary, what happened was her envy of her knowledge and unique personality that never gives up.

Everything I read was an expression from her of her love for life and her anticipation for everyone who helped her to reach where she is.

There is no place for excuses now.

She is a remarkable example of perseverance and determination. Despite facing numerous challenges and obstacles, she never let them hold her back. Her story is an inspiration to us all, showing that with hard work and a positive attitude, anything is possible.

We should learn from her and strive to make the most of our own lives, not allowing setbacks or difficulties to define us. Instead, we should look for opportunities to grow and succeed, just as Helen did.

Let us be inspired by her and work towards achieving our own goals and dreams, with the same passion and dedication that she showed throughout her life.

Reading a mission as a reconfiguration of the relationship with the hearing and sight of Hasty.

It is one of the most beautiful things I have read in the autobiography.

The act of reading a mission holds a special significance. It is not just about the words on the page but about how it impacts our perception and understanding. In this case, it is described as a reconfiguration of the relationship with the hearing and sight of Hasty. This implies that through reading, there is a transformation in the way we experience and interact with the world around us.

The mention of it being one of the most beautiful things read in the autobiography further emphasizes the profound impact it has had. Autobiographies often offer unique insights into the lives and experiences of the author, and this particular mission seems to have left a lasting impression.

Overall, the act of reading a mission can be a powerful and transformative experience, opening up new perspectives and enhancing our connection with the world.

I read this book when I was 10 years old, and I was truly astonished. How could she live without her senses? It was an unfathomable concept to my young mind. Now that I am much older, having revisited her story, Hellen Keller has made me realize once again that we see beauty not merely with our eyes but we feel it deeply with our hearts. She faced her handicap with unwavering courage and determination. Despite every imaginable difficulty that came her way, she won every battle. Hellen Keller truly gives the word "fighter" all of its profound meaning. It is no surprise that she is held in the highest regards by a great many people. Her story is an inspiration that continues to touch the lives of countless individuals, teaching us the power of perseverance and the importance of looking beyond the physical and seeing the true beauty within.

Day by day, the signs I used were becoming increasingly insufficient, and my failure to make others understand me was always accompanied by outbursts of anger.

Helen's sense of frustration grew even more as she entered her eighth year, when her need to communicate with others increased significantly. Her condition of being unable to see and hear had an impact on her ability to speak. The presence of Miss Sullivan, a teacher, was of great significance to Helen, as she introduced the world through touch.

I truly relished this book.

Keller delineates her life commencing from her childhood and extending up to the inception of her college years.

She pen with a descriptive and laid-back style as if she is engaging in a conversation with you.

Being unable to see or hear, it was truly awe-inspiring to peruse about her early life and the manner in which she mastered the art of communication.

The details she provides offer a profound insight into her world, filled with challenges and yet, remarkable achievements.

It makes one realize the indomitable spirit within her and how she overcame seemingly insurmountable obstacles.

This book being an autobiography, I initially thought that it might not hold any interest or excitement for me. However, once I delved into its pages, I found myself truly appreciating the author's writing style.

It was an absolute page turner. With each passing page, my curiosity grew, wondering what would happen next or how the author would handle a particular situation. Every scene and object was described in such fine detail that it allowed for a vast scope of imagination.

The ending of the book, unfortunately, seemed rather tedious to me. I had the impression that the story was being needlessly prolonged. Although I do admire the author's innocent confession about being a bit tedious by repeating or extending the list of books she read.

Nonetheless, if this book is read with a connection to our own lives, it has the potential to become a self-help and inspiring read. It can offer valuable insights and lessons that we can apply to our own personal growth and development.

Overall, despite its flaws, this autobiography has its merits and is worth reading for those who are interested in exploring the author's life and experiences.

Helen Keller's life was truly remarkable. Despite losing her sight and hearing at the age of two, she achieved astonishing feats. As a child, I read a children's version of her story that left a lasting impression on me. So, when I came across the original version at the library, I couldn't resist giving it a try. However, I was rather disappointed.

The children's version I had read long ago seemed far more emotional and relatable. In the original, Keller appears to brush aside many of her struggles and negative emotions with a casual shrug and wave of the hand. The few emotions she does express, such as when it was discovered that her first published short story was an inadvertent plagiarism, seem distant and inaccessible to the reader. I could only sympathize with her through her handicaps, rather than through a genuine human connection.

Moreover, a significant portion of her memoir reads like a who's who of popular society in her era. It seems that this memoir was not written with a broad audience of over 100 years of readers in mind, but rather for her own friends, acquaintances, and friends of friends, to further惊叹 at her place in society and her accomplishments despite her setbacks. (Although I'm not suggesting that she wrote it specifically for this purpose. I believe she was encouraged to write it by others for such reasons.)

Nevertheless, there is one thing that I must say I gained from this memoir, and that is a great appreciation for Keller's outlook on life. Nothing could bring her down for long. She was skilled at thinking positively and believing that anything was possible.

Overall, I felt that Keller suffered from a bit of tunnel vision in this memoir. A work written about her by a third party would likely be much more revealing and interesting.
