I had read some of Mr. Wiesel's books many years ago. At that time, I was deeply impressed by his writing, but as time passed, I forgot how interesting and thought-provoking he was. However, after recently revisiting his works, I am once again reminded of his genius. I generally have a high standard when it comes to rating books. I only give 5 stars to those that I firmly believe everyone should read as an essential part of the curriculum of being a human being. This book, along with several others of his, undoubtedly belongs on that syllabus. It offers profound insights into the human condition, the horrors of war and persecution, and the importance of hope and resilience. Mr. Wiesel's words have the power to move us, to make us think, and to inspire us to be better. His books are not just stories; they are a testament to the strength of the human spirit and a call to action for us to make the world a better place.
