But be warned, dear reader, for once you pick up this book, you may find yourself in a similar situation, with more inspiration than time to act upon it.

Fun can take on many forms, some of which are not only downright dangerous but also unPC and counter ecological. However, it is still fun. This is what our grandfathers did. My grandfather was born in 1885, and I can clearly envision him and his brother, Clyde, tinkering with these suggestions.

Interestingly enough, the Girls' Handy Book from the same time period is rather lackluster, while the Daring Book for Girls far outstrips the Dangerous Book for Boys in terms of its appeal and content.

This is a truly most excellent book. It is filled to the brim, or rather, up to the back cover with highly [informative] categorized information on survival and related topics. It doesn't stop there though. It also encompasses a great deal of content on other diverse subjects such as indoor entertainment and animals. All in all, it makes for an extremely excellent guide.

However, I would like to offer a word of caution. Why is that? Well, on page 320, as I recall, it details how blowing on a dog's nose will cause the animal to rub it, and this action can then be associated with a command. That's precisely how I found myself engaged in a rather short-lived but sanguinary battle with a dog and unfortunately lost. I ended up retreating as the only party to bear injury. It just goes to show that even with the best of guides, one must exercise a certain degree of prudence and common sense.
