A set of articles that touch on the sore spot regarding many realities of present-day Spain.

I liked it for its variety, its tenderness at times, and the unadorned language that can even be violent and crude to describe situations that the author rejects.

Olé for the use of so many swear words; they are also a part of the patrimony of the Spanish language.

A. Pérez-Reverte knows this better than anyone, as he is an academic of the RAE.

This collection of articles offers a unique perspective on the current state of Spain. It delves into various aspects of society, uncovering both the beautiful and the ugly. The author's use of language is bold and unapologetic, adding a sense of authenticity to the descriptions.

Whether it's the use of gentle words to convey a moment of tenderness or the employment of more forceful language to express disapproval, each choice serves to enhance the overall impact of the writing.

And let's not forget the swear words. While some may find them offensive, they are an integral part of the Spanish language and culture. In this context, they add a certain flavor and authenticity to the text.

Overall, this set of articles is a thought-provoking and engaging read that offers valuable insights into the complex and diverse reality of Spain today.

It may seem strange to read a book today that compiles articles published between 1998 and 2001. However, what is truly fascinating is that 90% of them could have been written perfectly yesterday.

I recommend reading it. But if you don't like getting angry while reading, it's better to look for something else. Seriously, literally every time I closed the book, I ended up very angry. Damn this world.

The reason for my strong reaction is that the content in the book still feels so relevant and applicable today. It's as if the issues and problems discussed haven't changed much over the years. It makes me realize how slow progress can be in some areas and how frustrating it can be to see the same mistakes and injustices being repeated.

Despite my anger, I still think this book is valuable. It serves as a reminder of the work that still needs to be done and the changes that we should strive for. It also gives me hope that perhaps one day, things will be different and the world will be a better place.

Here, I mainly have a complaint under the sign of "it used to be". There is nothing pleasant, and although it is very cozy, it all belongs to the national context of Spain. However, I was glad to hear the mentions of the unyielding "King Redondy".

In Spain, there are many aspects that may have changed over time. The things that used to be might have had their own charm and significance, but now they seem to have lost some of their luster. Maybe it's the nostalgia that makes us look back and feel a bit of dissatisfaction.

But despite the complaints, the mention of "King Redondy" brings a glimmer of excitement. This unyielding figure represents a certain spirit and history. It reminds us that there are still things worth remembering and celebrating in the past.

Overall, while there are some disappointments, there are also reasons to look back with a sense of appreciation and curiosity.
