A decent early reader chapter book on the topic of Pompeii. I particularly liked the explanation and cross-section of the volcano as well as the depiction of the buried city.
Went to the Pompeii exhibt w/kiddos. MS LOVED it and wanted more so we got this book. My 5 yr. old was totally able to understand and grasp the ennormity of the event.
I like this book because it's a good book. I like this book because it tells about Pompeii before the volcano erupted. I like this book because it's interesting.
Oh man, I read this book so many times back in 4th grade. It was quick, and I basically wanted to memorize everything the book was saying. Learning those facts at that age is challenging to 100% fully grasp, but it stays with you and you can expand your knowledge as you get older and read/learn more advanced facts and details about Pompeii. It was nice having the basic background knowledge.
If I recall correctly there were pictures of actual Pompeii and the poor victims preserved in ash.
Very basic and very cool. Definitely an early reader book.
The first time when i found that book it make me read. beacause of the book title and picutre on the book cover. That book seem to eazy to under stan the story . That book is kind of short and it has a 50 pages. The book has a colurfull pictures that also discrbe the part of book . That book use simpl sentences that reader can read independently. t
In this book I like last part most in that story. couse of people live in peacefully day in pompeii. They make old buried pompeii into museum today. The people came from different place to see the pompeii.
I still remember this from my school years. I suppose it was one of the first "disaster stories" I read, and the story of the discovery of Pompeii's ruins also highlights the fascinating rewards of archaeology (similar to Tut's Mummy: Lost...And Found).
