Once again, Jodi Picoult addresses a heavy theme with shocking scenes that has made the already enormous legion of fans grow.

In "Perfect Illusion", the author tells us the story of Cassie, an intelligent anthropologist who works for UCLA, and Alex Rivers, a renowned Hollywood actor, breathtakingly handsome, the dream of any woman.

Along the way, we also get to know the heart of the Sioux Indian community, a closed but stunning community.

When, still amnesic, they tell her that she is married to the famous Alex Rivers, Cassie doesn't even want to believe it. But will her life be a fairy tale? Domestic violence is described here in detail and does not choose social strata. And the fact that, often, the victim returns to the scene of the crime and forgives the abuser, is very well justified here. I liked it.

This novel not only delves into the complex issue of domestic violence but also explores the cultural and personal aspects of the characters. It makes the reader think about the nature of love, trust, and forgiveness. Jodi Picoult's writing is as powerful as ever, drawing the reader in and making them unable to put the book down.

The story of Cassie and Alex is a tragic yet beautiful one, filled with twists and turns that keep the reader on the edge of their seat. It is a must-read for fans of Jodi Picoult and anyone interested in a thought-provoking and engaging novel.

This book was truly distinct from the others penned by Jodi. And that, I believe, is precisely what endears her to me. With her, nothing is ever一成不变. Her writing style is unpredictable, which keeps me on the edge of my seat.

In this particular work, as I delved deeper, I found myself constantly wondering where the ending would lead. Given Jodi's penchant for inserting little twists here and there, I was almost bracing myself for the worst. However, when the ending finally arrived, it was rather satisfactory.

Nevertheless, there was one aspect of the book that bugged me a bit. The second part of the story was relayed to someone else, rather than presenting the actual events as in the first part. This narrative approach was a little confusing, and it took me some time to fully grasp it. But to be fair, it wasn't a major problem; it was just a minor annoyance that didn't overly detract from my overall enjoyment of the book.

All in all, despite this small hiccup, I still found Jodi's latest offering to be an engaging and thought-provoking read.

This Jodi Picoult novel, unfortunately, is not my favourite.

While I did find some aspects of it interesting, it didn't quite capture my heart and imagination in the way that some of her other works have.

However, I must admit that I really enjoyed the native Indian folk tales that were incorporated into the story.

These tales added a unique and fascinating element to the narrative, providing a glimpse into a different culture and its rich traditions.

Despite not loving this particular novel, I will certainly look forward to reading more from this author.

Jodi Picoult has proven herself to be a talented and versatile writer, and I have no doubt that she will continue to produce engaging and thought-provoking works in the future.

I am excited to see what she has in store for us next and am eager to explore more of her literary creations.
