Love her.

She is a remarkable individual. A liberal who firmly believes in the power of progress and equality. Based in San Francisco, a city known for its open-mindedness and diverse culture, she thrives in this environment.

She is a feminist, advocating for the rights and empowerment of women. Her beliefs are not just words but are put into action through her writing.

She is also a hippie, with a free spirit and a love for nature and simplicity. Her writing ministers to me, touching my heart and soul.

It is as if she is speaking directly to me, understanding my deepest emotions and concerns.

I am drawn to her words, finding comfort and inspiration in them.

She is a unique and wonderful person, and I am grateful to have discovered her through her writing.

I thought Traveling Mercies sounded like an interesting book just from the title. It was also recommended by a fellow overseas co-worker as a great read for a world traveler like myself. However, to my disappointment, I just couldn't get into it. Maybe if I had mustered up the endurance to stick it out and read the whole book, my perception would have improved.

Traveling Mercies chronicles author Anne Lamott's journey to faith through a diverse range of religious and not-so-religious experiences. Since I stopped reading partway, I never got to the point where she achieved true enlightenment. Was it true Christianity? I may never know. Any insights from a reader who has finished the book would be greatly appreciated.

My disappointment in the book stemmed from the strange twist the author gave to her "testimony." Lamott's story of her journey to faith quickly developed a sense of nostalgia. But it wasn't the kind of nostalgia for the "good old days of childhood" or "the innocence of pre-spiritual-angst." Instead, it was the way she spoke of her adult addictions - alcohol, extra-marital affairs, and drugs. She wrote about them as if they were fond memories to be treasured, warm experiences that contributed positively and meaningfully to bringing her life to a point of rich, well-rounded fulfillment by the end of her journey.

I found it extremely difficult to feel comfortable with her addictions, despite her cozy and endearing descriptions of them. So, for now, this book is back on the shelf, unfinished.

I want to read this book all over again already.

I truly loved reading about Lamott's journey of faith. It was an absolute delight to follow her as she shared her experiences and thoughts.

The way she pieces words together is simply remarkable. It is both moving and hilarious at the same time. Her writing has a unique charm that makes it extremely relatable.

She has this wonderful ability to express complex emotions and ideas in a way that is easy to understand and connect with.

Reading her book felt like having a conversation with a dear friend. It made me laugh out loud, it made me cry, and it made me think deeply about my own faith and life.

I can't wait to pick up this book again and immerse myself in Lamott's world once more.

Basically, I have a dream. When I grow up, I wanna be Anne Lamott. That's all.

Anne Lamott is an amazing writer. Her works are filled with honesty, humor, and deep insights into the human condition. I have been inspired by her writing ever since I first picked up one of her books.

I love how she is able to tell her own stories and make them relatable to everyone. Her words have the power to make me laugh, cry, and think. I want to be able to do the same with my own writing.

I know that becoming like Anne Lamott will not be easy. It will require a lot of hard work, practice, and dedication. But I am willing to put in the effort because I believe that writing is my passion and my calling.

So, that's my dream. To be Anne Lamott when I grow up. I will keep working towards it and see where this journey takes me.
