Steve Martin is my all-time favorite comedian.

His unique style of comedy is a remarkable blend of two seemingly disparate elements: Nabokov jokes and underpants jokes.

On one hand, he showcases his intellectual side with jokes that reference the works and themes of the great Russian author Vladimir Nabokov. These jokes add a touch of sophistication and literary charm to his performances.

On the other hand, he doesn't shy away from the more lighthearted and silly underpants jokes that always manage to get the audience roaring with laughter.

This perfect combination of highbrow and lowbrow humor is what makes Steve Martin's comedy so appealing and entertaining.

Whether he is on stage or in a movie, he always has the ability to make me laugh out loud with his clever and hilarious jokes.

I truly believe that he is one of the greatest comedians of our time.

This collection of short stories is not his best work.

The Pleasure of My Company would be hard to top. However, each piece is thoroughly in line with his delightful brand of "anti-humor".

To give you an example, several hours after reading the title story, it occurred to me that it was a far more thoughtful and amusing commentary on his own work than I had initially imagined while reading it.

The stories in this collection may not reach the same heights as his previous masterpiece, but they still possess the unique charm and wit that his fans have come to love.

His brand of "anti-humor" is characterized by its unexpected twists and turns, and the ability to find humor in the most unlikely of situations.

Overall, this collection is a worthy addition to his body of work, and is sure to provide readers with hours of entertainment and thought-provoking moments.

Sorry to say, the only aspect of this book that had any resonance with me was simply the title. To my mind, it seemed to be nothing more than pure drivel. I am a devoted fan of Steve Martin, so naturally, I had high expectations for a great deal of quirkiness. However, as I delved into the book, I frequently found myself pondering what on earth he was attempting to convey.

There were a few moments that elicited smiles and chuckles from me, but for the most part, I spent a significant portion of the book shaking my head in disbelief. It occurred to me that if it weren't for the renown of the author, this book would likely never have found its way into the hands of a publisher.

The overall experience was rather disappointing, especially considering my initial anticipation. I had hoped for a more engaging and thought-provoking read, but unfortunately, it failed to meet those expectations.
