As I delved deeper into his works, I found myself becoming slightly infuriated with Hemingway for his sexism, chauvinism, and brutality. His views and behaviors towards women and certain aspects of life seemed outdated and offensive.

And yet, despite these flaws, I couldn't help but be moved by the example of his life. His experiences, his courage, and his passion for writing were truly remarkable.

If any story isn't proof that alcohol destroyed his life, I don't know what is. He was known to drink a quart of gin a day, which surely took a toll on his physical and mental health.

Perhaps, if he had been able to control his drinking, he could have written an even greater book about World War II instead of chasing supposed spies around Cuba. It's a shame to think about what might have been.

Nevertheless, Hemingway's legacy will always remain, and his works will continue to be studied and admired for years to come.
