I was left feeling incredibly disappointed by this book.

I’ve heard so many good things and a lot of friends have really enjoyed it. However, it just fell flat for me.

I thought it was interesting to get to know about Elphaba and her past. But it also had me feeling like she just got a bad rap and wasn’t actually that wicked.

I mean, no doubt she did a couple bad things. But it seems like her reputation was blown way out of proportion. And it kind of ended up making me feel sad.

I was expecting her past and this book to be a lot darker and more wicked. But this book just felt tame and boring and bogged down with details.

The story could have been more engaging and exciting. There were moments when I thought it would pick up, but it never really did.

Overall, I was really let down by this book and would not recommend it to others.

Maybe I just had too high of expectations, but I was hoping for something more.

This book I started many years ago, a little over a decade. At that time, although I was enjoying it, I had to leave it. Many things happened and it just stayed there, on the shelf of "now I will read it", but the years kept passing. I only set myself a reading challenge this year and it is to read all those books that were left for a thousand and one reasons.

This was not the first one, but it is one of the ones that I have liked the most so far and perhaps it is because I remembered it with nostalgia. Anyway, the story is interesting, it is another perspective of everything that happened in The Wizard of Oz and although I already knew how it was going to end, until the last page I hoped that it would not be like that. There is only one part towards the middle of the book that I thought was unnecessarily long and a bit weak, but the rest I have really liked.

Książka robi to lepiej, jeśli chodzi o tło i konteksty polityczno-społeczne. To bardzo polityczna książka, która pozwala nam lepiej zrozumieć historię i społeczeństwo w danym okresie. Jednakże, musical robi to lepiej, jeśli chodzi o postaci i emocje. All in all, i love Oz. Byłoby trudno wybrać między książką a musicalem, ponieważ oba mają swoje zalety i atuty. Jednakże, jeśli muszę wybrać jedną, to zdecydowanie wybiorę musical, ponieważ dla mnie jest bardziej wzruszający i pełen życia.
