Sam Walton's life story is truly amazing, filled with hard work, grit, persistence, real honesty, and passion.

In his autobiography, he tells his story in a no holds barred approach. He doesn't shy away from recounting his mistakes, which makes his successes even more remarkable.

Reading this autobiography has made me see Walmart in a whole new light. It has given me a deeper understanding of the man behind the company and the values that drove him to success.

Sam Walton's story is an inspiration to anyone who dreams of achieving great things. It shows that with hard work, determination, and a commitment to honesty and passion, anything is possible.

This is a very well done autobiography that I would highly recommend to anyone interested in business, entrepreneurship, or simply a good story of success against the odds.

Sam Walton, the founder of the world's largest company Walmart, which now has over 2 million employees, had a remarkable journey. He grew up selling things and knew from an early age that he wanted to be in the retail business. He involved almost his entire family in his career and earlier businesses that he had founded before coming up with the brilliant idea of Walmart.

I have read a significant number of biographies of successful businesspeople, and there are clearly many parallels in both their personalities and business development. Sam was passionate about what he did, and his enthusiasm and motivation to expand led to the rapid growth of his career. I also enjoyed reading about his private and humble (for a billionaire, of course) life.

However, to be honest, what I didn't like was that he only touched on the surface of the topics in almost every chapter. I had expected him to go into more detail about failures and difficult times. Instead, he seemed to praise the whole process as if everything had run with maximum efficiency and almost without major problems.

I often read biographies to learn more about how other successful people started their journey. But after reading about 40% of the book, he had already founded Walmart, opened hundreds of stores, and even bought an airplane. I feel that more of the youthful part and the struggles are missing here.

This book is an okay read, but if you want to delve deeper into the life story of Sam Walton and the detailed growth of Walmart, you won't find true satisfaction here.

Reading Sam's autobiography, I was deeply impressed. He seems to be one of those rare individuals you often hear about, who have an unwavering clarity about what they desire from life and wholeheartedly dedicate themselves to achieving it. This immediately reminds me of another Sam, Altman.

"Made in America" truly hooked me. It wasn't just because of the excellent writing but also because I have a passion for learning the backstories of how enormous companies began. Sam comes across as an honest person, yet in my view, he is overly frugal. He himself acknowledges this towards the end. If you were to ask me, he's not the kind of person I would want to work for. However, on the other hand, I can kind of understand his frugality, considering the megacompany that Walmart has become.

Walmart's success story is both inspiring and thought-provoking. It makes one wonder about the sacrifices and decisions that go into building such a business empire. Sam's journey is a testament to the power of determination and hard work.

Overall, reading Sam's autobiography and "Made in America" has given me valuable insights into the world of business and the people who drive it. It has also made me reflect on my own goals and aspirations.

The guy is really cool.

He has an air of confidence and charm that seems to draw people to him.

His actions and words are always filled with a certain swagger, making him stand out from the crowd.

Whether it's in the way he dresses, the way he walks, or the way he interacts with others, there's just something about him that makes him seem larger than life.

People can't help but take notice of him and be impressed by his presence.

He's the kind of person who always seems to be having a good time and living life to the fullest.

His energy and enthusiasm are contagious, and it's hard not to get caught up in his excitement.

Overall, the guy is truly one of a kind and a force to be reckoned with.

Taking the book Sam Walton: Made in America off the shelf, I began to read it, and to my surprise, it was truly captivating.

Made in America is an All-American book that delves into the process of building a business, a story that anyone can come to appreciate. What astonished me was that it wasn't dull at all, thanks to his engaging writing style.

As an autobiography, it initially pushed me out of my comfort zone, as I usually gravitate towards the dystopian genre. However, this book was entirely different from any other business book I had ever read. Sam Walton's narrative kept me eagerly turning the page, time and time again.

Sam is the embodiment of the American Dream. Born in America, he started selling newspaper subscriptions at a young age and eventually became the Richest Man in America, as named by Forbes Magazine. He was not only a good student but also a talented athlete, and with his football scholarship, college was not a concern for him.

From the very beginning, Walton was a humble man. Despite owning a chain of stores, he didn't conform to the stereotype of being extravagantly dressed, driving a fancy car, and living in a huge house. Instead, he was the complete opposite. He didn't believe in flaunting his wealth just because he had it. One of the fundamental principles on which his company was founded was the value of a dollar.

The book not only teaches the importance of the value of a dollar but also provides insights into how to manage a company. Walton's book is a nonfiction work, specifically an autobiography. I believe it is more targeted towards those who have a genuine interest in the history of Walmart or aspire to enter the world of entrepreneurship.

I started reading it because I am an avid lover of Walmart and wanted to learn about the history behind the company. Throughout my reading, I never turned a page without learning something new. Personally, I think that most autobiographies should offer valuable lessons, and this book does not disappoint in that regard.

Being an autobiography, Made in America is presented in a traditional chapter format. The chapters are written more or less in chronological order, which gives the book more impact. It shows how Sam Walton built a business out of his love for working in retail.

One unique aspect that I liked about this book is that each chapter begins with either a small quote or a story from someone who worked with Sam Walton, whether it's his family or the first manager he hired. Like most books, this one has an ongoing theme, which in this case is entrepreneurship. Sam explains his entire experience of building a business in a detailed and easy-to-follow manner.

Overall, the author, theme, writing style, and genre all blend seamlessly to create a book that I would highly recommend. I rate this book a perfect 5 out of 5 stars because it contains everything I believe a great book should have. Sam Walton is one of those authors who can take his life story and transform it into a compelling read, filled with vivid language and details. He paints a clear picture in your mind of exactly what is happening. Not only is this book an enjoyable read, but it also imparts lessons that are relevant not only in entrepreneurship but also in life.

Hmm... I truly don't know precisely what I think about this book.

There were certain aspects regarding Sam Walton and his narrative that I adored: his exuberance, his motivation, his sense of humor.

However, there were other elements in the book or about his character that confounded me.

For instance, the Wal-Mart culture that he repeatedly描绘 in the book sounds rather remarkable - an environment of friendliness, a down-home/small-town ambiance, and creativity.

But I can't really assert that I've sensed that atmosphere from my shopping experiences there.

In fact, I've often felt quite the contrary.

Yet I realize this book was penned in the early 90's and a great deal could have altered since then.

I also, similar to Mr. Walton, concluded this book pondering whether such a focused, career-driven life (like the one he led) could be entirely fulfilling and leave the desired legacy.

This identical query could be applied to achieving the appropriate balance in numerous different pursuits.

When is sufficient, sufficient?

Irrespective of these points, this book left me with an astonishing admiration for what Sam Walton managed to achieve in the retail domain.

The growth and productivity of Wal-Mart from the 70's to the early 90's is nearly unbelievable... and yet it is true.

This book also, I believe, contains some excellent tips for those aspiring to be successful as entrepreneurs.

Honestly? Sam Walton just \\n  gets it\\n.

He has such sound and simple business principles, and he adheres to them without fail.

He didn't initially aim to become America's largest retailer; his sole focus was on being the best. This unwavering pursuit of excellence is what propelled him to the top.

During his journey to achieve the best, he made what I believe is the most crucial recognition: not to hoard glory and profits at the top of the chain among senior management, but to honor and reward all the workers and staff involved. His realization that providing all staff with more than just a token of appreciation (such as company shares, part-ownership, bonuses, etc.) has an incalculable yet highly positive impact on the business. Staff become dedicated to the organization and its success, their attitudes improve, work becomes more productive and efficient, and ultimately, this is manifested towards the customer.

Many modern organizations and businesses would do well to follow Sam's example.

Sam Walton is truly a remarkable figure who embodies to perfection what a leader of a great company and family, an entrepreneur, and a merchant should be.

His vision and leadership have been the driving forces behind the astonishing success of Walmart. Now, after careful consideration, I have a better understanding of why and how Walmart has become the behemoth that it is today, with a staggering value of 600 billion.

Sam Walton's unwavering commitment to providing quality products at affordable prices, his innovative business strategies, and his ability to inspire and motivate his employees have all contributed to the company's growth and prosperity.

He was not afraid to take risks and try new things, which allowed Walmart to stay ahead of the competition and continuously evolve.

Moreover, his focus on family values and community involvement has endeared the company to millions of customers around the world.

Overall, Sam Walton's leadership and entrepreneurial spirit serve as an inspiration to us all, and his legacy will continue to shape the business world for generations to come.

Fantastic book!

I would highly recommend this to anybody who has a burning desire to start their own business or reach for any lofty goal.

Right now, it's crucial to forget about the often complex and sometimes distracting politics of the company. To become overly focused on that aspect is to completely miss out on a treasure trove of wisdom presented by an interesting and humble character within the pages of this book.

There are numerous valuable lessons one can glean from here, not only about business but also about life in general. What makes it even more remarkable is that it's all written in a very simple and accessible style that flows effortlessly and is an absolute pleasure to read.

To be honest, when I initially picked up this book, I really didn't know what to expect. I was in a phase where I needed to expand my knowledge about business and was looking for a refreshing break from the dryness of textbooks. So, I took a chance and decided to give it a try. And boy, am I ever so glad that I did!

This is truly an excellent book that I would encourage everyone to read.

GENRE - AUTOBIOGRAPHY.

PAGES - 346.

This remarkable book was recommended to me by my Goodreads friend, Mr. Patrick Peterson, following my review of the book Shoedog. I am truly obliged to him for this wonderful suggestion.

About The book: - This book can be regarded as an excellent study material for students of Logistic and Supply Chain Management. I myself come from the field of logistics and supply chain management and have been actively involved in Warehousing and Procurement activities for approximately 10 years of my professional career.

Sam Walton appears to have mastered the fields of Customer Service, Department stores, Retail, FMCG (as we refer to it today), and Merchandising. The processes and situations described in the book assist you in understanding how things operate in a retail business. What's more, it is all written with such simplicity that even a layperson will be able to effortlessly understand the operations taking place in a retail store.

After Shoedog by Phil Knight, this is my second favorite book in the genre of Autobiographies of Entrepreneurs or Business people.

Absolutely loved it

The progress was extremely slow.

It seemed as if there was an element of self-boasting to a certain extent.

At times, it felt like the claims being made were a bit over the top and not entirely supported by the actual pace of things.

The lack of significant advancement made it difficult to fully believe in the grandiose statements that were being put forward.

Perhaps a more realistic and measured approach would have been more appropriate to avoid giving the impression of excessive self-promotion.

It's important to strike a balance between highlighting achievements and being honest about the true state of affairs.

Otherwise, it can lead to a loss of credibility and a sense of dissatisfaction among those who are observing or involved.

Hopefully, in the future, there will be a more genuine and transparent way of presenting the situation, without the need for what appears to be self-boasting.

What a man!

He is the entrepreneur of the century. Every day, he wakes up with the determination to improve things. Ming set his goals high and stands up tall. He looks into the eyes of others and speaks with them directly and honestly.

He offers a Satisfaction Guarantee, ensuring that his customers are always happy. His decision-making process is focused on the customer facing level, listening to everyone for the good idea. This is the Walmart way.

He believes in simplicity and efficiency, and doesn't fix the problem by adding another layer of bureaucracy. Instead, he gets to the root of the issue and finds a practical solution. His leadership and vision have made him a success, and he continues to inspire others to follow in his footsteps.
