I love long and involved books that just suck you into their world. This is my second De Blasis read and I'm looking forward to more of her books, though I think she didn't write that many. She has clearly put much research into her writing and it was fun reading about the minutia of everyday life. Written in the 80's it has a style all its own with a strong female character, but is sadly not available digitally. A juicy vintage book, this is not a bodice ripper but is surprisingly steamy.

I first read the Wild Swan trilogy years ago as a teenager and I loved reading it all again. If you love sweeping sagas, you will love this set. The amazing characters along with so much of the rich history of the United States will have you riveted.

Other minimal typos causes the reader to stumble over the sentence n go back and decipher the meaning
