It took me awhile to get past the fact that this is a very different book than the first one. I kept hanging in there, trying to shift gears, trusting the many people who promised it was going to be worth it. And it was. Once I settled in to the story I was hooked. Beautifully written. This book can stand on its own. But I want to know what happens next. I'll be reading the next one.

Loved this series!! was recommended by a dear buddy.. Xenocide was long winded but picked up at the end. Recommend this Series to anyone!!

These books vary in how good they are compared to Ender's Game, but they were all enjoyable reads. I couldn't help but wanting to know more and more about each story line.

Edit: God damn this sucked. We slaughtered aliens in enders game to talking about piggies. Wtf? This book needs a warning. Will not continue the series

I absolutely ENJOYED Enders game and speaker of the dead was good too but I really wish that orson Scott card hasn't rushed the series too much like all of a sudden you see ender in the first book all young and then in the next one he is 35!!! Like seriously but speaker of the dead was good too but xenocide and children of the mind disappointed me deeply! I have NEVER been more disappointed about a series as much as this! I'm still reading children of the mind but I wish the series was less dialogue and more interesting and intriguing and maybe more action. I wish ender was more of a major character in the last few books but I liked how Peter came back but I don't like how alot of the characters misjudged ender and I seriously didn't like how ender got married especially to novinha! It ruined alot of the plot because ender was more worried about pleasing his wife than saving humanity. Novinha also was making a big deal about Jane I hate how ender cut her off and how he also cut off valentine and everyone else. I just wish that after Enders game orson Scott card told more about what ender did instead of skipping three thousand years into the future but I'm looking forward to reading ender in exile to see what happened and I really want to read shadow series and first formic wars! I do like orson Scott card don't get me wrong he is an amazing writer but he ruined his best series by focusing too much on virtue , religion , love, future, and everyone else instead of ender so if anyone is reading this please read Enders game and maybe speaker of the dead but nothing after but maybe try the other books like ender in exile cuz that wouldn't hurt and war of gifts and shadow series and mazer in prison!

I'm still a fan of Enders game no matter what and am looking forward to the movie!

I think the reason why I really enjoyed reading these books is because they were so different from the books that I usually choose to read. I listened to the audio with my husband on a road trip. I wonder if I would have loved it as much if I read it myself. He is a great author though, so probably.

These were not quite as good as Enders Game, only because it was one of the best books ever. I always hate when a character has to change or grow up because you get so used to them the way they are, but they were all great books.

book reads didnt have each book seperatly so this was my only option. I read Enders Game in 9th grade for the group books unit and I enjoyed the first book. it wasnt until a few months ago that i realized that there were more books to the series. I thought it was a very good book because in itself it was a complete story which I think makes a good series. i dont like books that just have clif hangers and stretch their story till all is left is putty. There are four books in the series and the first one was called Speaker for the Dead.

SPEAKER FOR THE DEAD: it was a jump because the setting was different since the book takes place in the future, and the main character, Andrew Wiggins, is not a kid anymore, he is much older. this book also brings up the character of Andrews sister which we only saw for a little bit in the beginning and it was cool to see how she was more of an enemy than anything else. the relationship they had when they were children were still the same because of their different ideas.

XENOCIDE: in this book we see that the story line ties back to the first book where he trained the whole time, and his whole life in the battle rooms to eliminate the alien buggers that are in the humans way in different planets. we have a back and forth story line between two planets of lusitania and path. we see that all of the training in the first book paid off to eliminate aliens in these two planets. we are also given the point of view of the aliens and shown why the book is called xenocide. I searched what xeno means and that means alien, and the word cide means killing, so we see the killing of aliens that arent bad in this world of enders game.

CHILDREN OF THE MIND: We see more of other characters in this book and the absense of Andrew is like taking a huge peice of the cake. He is there but he isnt the focal of the book. This book focuses around Jane which is a computer thaty wants to become human. this is the major conflict but there is still some fighting between the buggers and humans. this book is more of a resolution because ender is getting old so his soul was transfered into a character named peter. I enjoyed the book but i didnt feel like it was as good as the others.

all of the books work well with each other. They give a sort of star wars saga vibe because each one gives to the other which i really liked. i recommend all of the books. I think the flow was really good which made me like the books a lot more.

Sequels to enders game that were great stories beyond the norm.

I got Ender's Game from a friend for my birthday. It was such a great book that it got me hooked into the series. I am now reading the last book: Children of the Mind.
It is going well but I find it is not as enthralling as Engers Game.
