This book was sinister, dark, evil and at times quite funny.
I admit I wasn't expecting the funny aspect of it more of the darkness and cruelness. The description of some of the scenes especially the circus scenes were so descriptive and well full of imagination that it was really hard not to see what the reader was trying to show you. Even when he had taken the potion to fake death that was described well his fear, his sensations well everything.

I enjoy the characters in this book the boys exchanged banter and teasing constantly like normal teenagers it made them relatable and more believable too. Steve seemed a bit of a maniac to be honest reckless and manic and unpredictable but quite entertaining but he was definitely disturbed. Darren seemed a little scared of most things and naturally a coward even if he wanted to do something he didn't well until he made the decision to become a half vampire to save his best friend. Once he turned into a vampire he seemed to find a spirit within himself and a fire he seemed emotionally stronger.

Overall this was a dark twisted sinister book which isn't usually something I like but this was well something else, I don't know if it was the descriptions of the characters and scenes that made me want to know more or just the story but I want to read the next one too.

I liked this one and I think I'm getting fond of audiobooks again.
It wasn't the greatest nor the worst.

I loved the beginning, the sincerity of Darren, our main character and some comments truly made me laugh. The plot is good. The show of Freaks wasn't extraordinary, but it kept me wanting to know more.

I have outgrown vampire stories over the years, but this was recommended to me by my boyfriend, and he really loves this series very much so I gave it a chance. And I'm glad I did so.

The characters are pleasant and more realistic than not. Mr. Crepsley isn't such an interesting character for now but I liked the rest of them.

I felt truly sorry for Darren's best friend, Steve, but I'm glad he's okay.

I shall see where the series is going, and I'm really looking forward to get to the end.
