An absolutely essential cookbook with amazing recipes and great photographs. There's so many courses in this book that are stunning but classic, and I haven't even made my way through it. I can't wait to make more from this book. Jamie Oliver's cookbooks are always winners.
this book is amazing. i never know if i should put it on the cook book shelf or the art book shelf. beautiful photos and really wonderful recipes, so many of which are really easy and quick to make.
Am back to clearing out boxes in garage and yet again another box of cookbooks, note to self maybe get shelving rack for books in garage?! The garage is well ventilated. This is one of my Jamie Oliver cookbooks, one from 2004! It has over 100 fairly easy unfaffy (spelling?) recipes, can see I enjoyed cooking his simple lasagne and his little new potatoes baked, it was a bit of fiddle but worth it with the rosemary dressing, and what looks like tons more recipes I clearly cooked for the children!! With so many markers in the book this was well used!! I've put it on my kitchen cookbook shelf for the moment to go through and pick up some to cook over the summer.
My favourite of Jamie's books. I loved the style, look and small ideas in this book alongside good recipes. Great for a growing family. Only downside is he does expect you to have a well stocked store cupboards and lots of kitchen equipment.
I have to confess that the absolute best "fries" I've ever made have come from this book. I know some (okay, any) people find Oliver's tone irritating, and I do as well, more often than not. But his recipes are in fact quite practical and simple for every day cooking, without resorting to pre-made junk. Well done, and pass the fries . . .
An excellent go to for great recipes. You can your way through this whole book in even the most spartan of kitchens. Make the French onion soup...once you add the knob of butter you'll never look back!
