My favorite author of all time!!!!! I am pretty sure that I have read all of his books. He writes mystery and it always includes horse racing in some way. This is my favorite one!!!!!! Even if you know nothing about racing or horses Dick Francis can draw you in and hold your interest. Fabulous characterization and storytelling.

Not gonna lie...I didn't love this one as much as I normally love a Francis book. I think a lot had to do with the attitude of one of the other characters (Billy), and his level of hatred towards an institution that he took out on an individual. And part because I just didn't feel as connected to the MC. But it was still a good story, and it still kept me guessing, and I stayed up late to finish, so it couldn't have been that bad.

Ends too abruptly without tying up loose ends, but good. Henry Grey is not the superhuman of Dick Francis' usual male protoganists.

Started slow. Got good then draaaaaaaaged out the ending. And ended suddenly. If you're going to write a book, finish off. I wanted to know how his gf was. What happened to the other guys on the plane???
