the one-star review did not come lightly. I love this authors work. so, I was rather surprised to come across this one and absolutely hate it. i made it halfway in and dodged it for 2 months. so today I called it quits.
This story was about a reporter/newsman, John Barrett, covering the story on crocked politician, along with a story on a girl who's died. Also, the John's dad dies mysteriously and he's dealing with family matters. Around the time of his dad dying, he starts to see and hear things that's not real. Are these visions or a mental disorder?
The whole world of news is to broadcast the most up to date information and reports of the surrounding arears. The problems lies with, what's gonna get the ratings? So what needs to be brought to light and talked about becomes not so important. There are also things that get swiped under the rug for certain people and companies. The longer John's on the story he's following he's beginning to see things for how they really are.

Reading this book during midterm election time made this extremely interesting. I have always enjoyed Perretti’s books but this one was very timely considering present day politics and the news industry! I very much enjoyed this book because it was a great story and he always brings a Christian message across.

This book is a marvelous story. It depicts the spiritual life of a person with God. The story showed the way on how a person would go through from excitement, confusion, struggles, and revelations. Although, this is a fictional book, some areas in the story are very true to life experiences.

This book showed professionalism and details on what the characters are doing. And through this professionalism and details, the story made it interesting for me. I can even feel and imagine the way characters' emotions, actions, reactions and speaks. The details focused on these things added flavor to the story.

In the wise words of Solomon, there is nothing new under the sun. While this book was written a number of years ago, it could easily be the 2024 election. Peretti develops these characters well and ties up each storyline completely.
