best book quite possibly ever. used to spend ages looking at all the different animals... this book was never available at the public library cause of me. i was obsessed and if i ever finally get a copy of this for myself like i wanted to as a child i’ll probably spend hours looking at it just like i used to

I learned more about animals than I ever thought possible. I carried this book wherever I went. I could NOT put it down. As a result, my copy has fallen apart greatly.

Probably largely responsible for sparking my childhood love for animals in me. Hugely nostalgic and one of my favourite early possessions.

Saw this at Disney's Animal Kingdom and thought it would be fun to page through someday with my boys.

Pero que libro, es una enciclopedia que avarca un número bastante amplio de especies de animales comenzando por mamíferos, voladores, reptiles, anfibios, insectos y animales acuáticos. Es bastante completo tiene mapa de ubicación por especie y las sonas que acostumbran avitar junto con una concreta definición de su nombre y el avito de su especie. Es lo más completo que e visto y se que ya pasaron muchos años pero es que no e visto otra enciclopedia tan completa como esta. Aprendí mucho de animales con este libro.

When I was at the transfer station Wednesday a couple of people with very accented but native English(New Zealand? Ireland?) dropped off this and a "Rainforest" book. Brand spanking new the both of them. Probably worth a hundred bucks! I'll be browsing a bit at a time.

This book is amazing.

readers will unintentionally learn about the world and its ecosystems by discovering the animals that inhabit it. Yes, it reads like a biology book but embrace it people. You slept through it in high school.

I’ve read through this book so many times through my childhood it’s insane. It’s helped spark a lot of curiosity in me and fuel my passion for animals. Whoever I found some insect I didn’t recognize or looked at a bird I wanted to know more about, my first step was to look through the pages of this book. It’s astounding how much detail it is able to cover and how many animals it is able to address. What I believe is more astounding still is that it shows just how many animals are endangered and need protection. This book has helped shape me into who I am today and what I want to be in the future.

I like the pictures and the stats are also great. I like using a measuring tape to see how long each animal is.
