This was an early birthday present from my mom and stepdad when I was younger. I think everyone goes through a phase where they want to analyze their dreams to understand what their subconscious is trying to tell them. For me this phase was more than that; it was a deep need that had to be fulfilled. I'd always ask what my dream meant to my parents when I was a child but stopped as I grew older. When I found this book and asked for it as a birthday gift I was so happy when they bought it for me. I've gotten so much use out of it since my 2011 birthday; it's my go to book whenever I have a difficult dream. There is so much detail and so many symbols are covered that I have not really had any difficulty finding what I needed to know. It's definitely worth a read for those who are interested in understanding symbols in their dreams.
I got this book about 4-5 years ago. It's an extremely large heavy book with an encyclopedia on every dream symbol you can think of. Not joking! It's rare that I haven't found a symbol in this book. I remember how happy I was when I got this book on special for like $20. Which is far from what it is worth. It's an amazing resource and very well made. Sadly my book is slowly falling apart because I have used it so much!
I am taking this book off of my tbr shelf because I have enjoyed flipping through it on many occasions and I find the information to be interesting and well compiled.
There is a lot of conflict regarding dreams and how to interpret them/what they really are/etc. I don't know how well researched or factual this book is, but it is a fascinating read and there are many times when looking up what I dreamt that it completely made sense. This book is also creates great conversation between friends as everyone is curious to know why they are dreaming about certain things.
I have very vivid dreams on a nightly basis and resort to this book. I bought one for my best friend and we always talk about it. I've not read it front to back but it's a great resource!
also, a very fun book to flip through. anytime I have dreams I cannot explain I know my subconsious can in some way. so I put the pieces together while flipping through this book and gain insight into things I've never thought possible!
I loved the introduction to the book, because it really explained how to use these symbols in your day to day life. A lot of people ask me what the importance of dream interpreting is and now I can tell them in clearer more educated words. Dreams are symbolic messages and "their aim is the same - to lead to our fulfillment." This book has justified my love for dream interpreting and helped me analyze how to become in equilibrium with my unconscious mind. I would definitely recommend this book to someone who is interested in what real world purpose their dreams have. Because trust me, there is one. This book aids in helping you figure out who you really are, and what you feel.
