Another great installment in this series. Honestly, I felt more connected to this one than the sequel in the series. There was more historical content, which is a plus for me, and I felt like I really connected with the characters and the time period. I loved how the characters really displayed God's heart.

The story begins with Nicole wrestling with going to England where her uncle is. She finally decides to and so the journey begins.

Loved the character of Captain Madden. He and his wife, Emily, were not just cardboard cutouts in the story but helpful and an actual, integral part of the story.

I smiled when the driver for Mr. Harrow let Nicole drive the team of horses. And I almost cried when an important character passed away. The author's sure know how to write a good story.

Nicole and her sister, Anne, both end up across the pond and most of the story is spent with each of them trying to find their place in life. For me, this wasn't the most action-packed book. It's probably my least favorite out of the series, but only because the others were so good. It was readable, and contained important info for the story to continue, but that's about it. Not necessarily always the most interesting, but not boring.

We also got to see Mr. Harrow grow and become a better man, let go of his own will, and trust in God. I liked the character growth in this book in general.

No cursing. I don't think there was any kissing (at least not detailed enough for me to remember).

3 stars.
