Mr. Happy was a book from my childhood. I remember the simple illustrations and the interesting story. My daughter had the same response to this book as I did years ago. Now she wants to read all of them. Would recommend.
If you put a smiley face on a worm, and then stand it upright but with its head tilted at a jaunty angle, it looks quite exactly as though you drew a smileyface on a penis.
One has to question why considering his name, Mr Miserable, would be anything but. After he has a good old time laughing with Mr Happy, one also has to wonder if he then returns through the tiny red door, down the spiralling staircase, home; and what effect this has on his newfound happiness.
I can't believe the Mr. books are on Goodreads!!! I LOVE THE MR. BOOKS! What a throwback to my childhood. Read them all - or at least buy them for your kids.
Mr. Happy lives in Happyland, where everything there is happy. One day, Mr. Happy goes down a flight of stairs, finds a door into a house, and meets Mr. Miserable, who seems to be eternally depressed. Mr. Happy brings Mr. Miserable to Happyland and encourages him to just smile. This book is a great tool to teach critical thinking in children. Mr. Happy does not do anything specific to get Mr. Miserable to smile and be happy, but one can come to the conclusion that when you are surrounded by people that want you to be happy and you are in an environment that is positive and uplifting, you cannot help but smile and feel the same. This book is the key to what you need in order to be happy and this book is helpful for readers of all ages in making that happen!
I read this short book when I was five. It was amazing, and it was the first Mr Men book that I read. I probably have these books lying around somewhere. All the books in the series have a moral but as they are funny so no kid will notice that they are learning how to help people that think themselves as nothing compared to others.
Overall, this book should be read by young kids between the ages of 4 and 7! :)
